The report states that the actor contracted jaundice due to liver and kidney complications. His health deteriorated further, and he eventually slipped into a coma as his organs failed to recover. Santhosh was the son of renowned film producer Anekal Balaraj, best known for bankrolling the 2003 hit film Kariya, which starred Darshan in the lead role. Anekal Balaraj passed away in a road accident in 2022. Following his father's demise, Santhosh remained unmarried and continued living with his mother.
