A Look Into Angelina Jolie's New Chapter as She Returns to Filmmaking, Fashion and Global Influence
On June 4, Angelina Jolie will celebrate her milestone 50th birthday. In her first 49 years, Jolie has accomplished more than most can dream: She's raised six children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, who she shares with ex Brad Pitt — earned countless awards and become revered worldwide for her humanitarian work. She's not done yet, however — here is a glimpse into everything the Maria star has had going on behind the scenes. After a 14-year absence from the Cannes Film Festival, Angelina made her triumphant return in 2025 to serve as the 'Godmother' tapped to present the prestigious Trophée Chopard to two rising stars on May 16. Angelina is frequently seen at Atelier Jolie, the graffiti-covered fashion retail space she opened in New York City in 2023. She enjoys hosting panel discussions at the collaborative and cultural center–meets–design workshop. In late 2024, Angelina was spotted filming her next movie, Couture, in Paris. The project, which Variety reported is about 'three women whose lives will collide during Fashion Week,' is being shot in both French and English. On May 14, it was announced that Angelina will play a banker opposite 31-year-old White Lotus season 3 breakout star Aimee Lou Wood's hostage-taking robber in the buzzed-about film Anxious People. Also in the pipeline? Big-budget movies, including Disney sequel Maleficent 3 and Maude v Maude — costarring and coproduced by Halle Berry, 58, who's described the flick as Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets Mission: Impossible. 'I have to be [in L.A. because of] a divorce, but as soon as [the twins] are 18, I'll be able to leave,' Angelina said last year. After her youngest become adults in July 2026, she mused, 'I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia' and 'visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.'

Brad Pitt's Divorce Response Sparks Backlash
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie began dating in 2005 and were together for about nine years before getting married in 2014. Their relationship lasted about 11 years in total before Angelina filed for divorce in 2016. Last December, their divorce was finalized after an eight-year legal battle. Brad's relationship with their six children has allegedly become strained since the split. It has also been reported that Brad has "virtually no contact" with his adult children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh — and limited visitation with his younger twins, Knox and Vivienne. Brad himself has acknowledged his struggles with substance abuse during their marriage. In a 2017 interview for GQ, he described the split as a "huge generator for change" in his life. Adding, "I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing or had a spliff, or something... I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know — things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing, too." Angelina also spoke about the divorce in a 2017 interview with Yalda Hakim for BBC News when she was promoting her 2017 film First They Killed My Father, a movie based on the genocide in Cambodia. When asked how she was coping, holding back tears, Angelina said, "Many, many people find themselves in this my family, we've all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children, and my focus is finding this way through... We are and forever will be a family, and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer." You can watch the full interview here. And now Brad has made his first comments about the divorce since it was finalized last year. In another GQ interview, Brad described his divorce finalization as "not that major of a thing" and "just something coming to fruition. Legally." He expressed that the legal conclusion didn't bring him a significant sense of relief, and that it was merely a formal step in the process. He also added, "My personal life is always in the news. It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way." And, as you can imagine, some people on TikTok have been sharing their thoughts on Brad's comments. One TikToker expressed frustration over Brad's comments, saying, "My favorite part of the interview is when he tried to act all nonchalant and chill, like Mr. Cool Guy about the divorce from Jolie. They asked him if he was relieved and he said, ' wasn't that major.' ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" They seem mostly upset at the fact that he appears to be shrugging off an 11-year relationship and custody of six kids. That, and the fact that it took nearly as long as their entire relationship just to be finalized. Others even blamed his zodiac for what appears to be a lack of emotion about the whole situation. Either way, it is just not sitting right with some people. You can read more about Brad's comments on the divorce being finalized here.

Brad Pitt breaks silence about conclusion of his longrunning divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie
Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Brad Pitt has spoken publicly for the first time about the conclusion of his long-running divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie. The 61-year-old actor married Angelina, 49, in 2014 after they met on the set of 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' in 2005 and the couple separated in 2016, with the actress filing for divorce the same year before the couple became embroiled in bitter custody and business disputes, some of which are still ongoing. When asked about the significance of his divorce settlement with Angelina. 'F1' star Brad said: 'No, I don't think it was that major of a thing. 'Just something coming to fruition. Legally.' The couple's legal disputes have encompassed custody of their six children and the division of assets including the Château Miraval winery in France. Brad and Angelina have six children – Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. During the GQ interview, Brad addressed the media scrutiny surrounding his private life by saying: 'It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way.' The actor currently resides in Los Angeles with his girlfriend, 32-year-old jewellery executive Ines de Ramon. Asked whether their red carpet appearance at the 2024 British Grand Prix was intended to promote F1, Brad denied any strategic motivation. He said: 'No, dude, it's not that calculated. If you're living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you're living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.' When GQ asked whether working on F1 served as a 'refuge from all the attention,' Brad responded: 'Um, I don't see it that way.' He added: 'It's been an annoyance I've had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do. 'So, it's always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don't know. I don't know.' Reflecting on his current lifestyle, Brad said: 'Mostly I feel pretty... my life is fairly contained. 'It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it's like this fly buzzing around a little bit.' Brad was also previously married to actress Jennifer Aniston, 55, before their divorce in 2005.

Brad Pitt calls his 8-year spanning divorce from Angelina Jolie not 'that major of a thing'
Brad Pitt is turning up the heat on the cover of GQ this month. But what's gotten everybody really hot and bothered is his dismissive comment regarding his and partner of over a decade, Angelina Jolie's divorce being finalised. A post shared by GQ (@gq) When asked if the actor felt "relief" now that the 8-year long legal battle was finally done, Brad very matter of factly stated, "No, I don't think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally". Well that was cold. Brad and Angelina became romantically involved in the mid-2000s, their relationship eventually blooming into a full-fledged family life with 6 adopted children — Maddox, currently 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, Knox, 16, and Vivienne, also 16. They tied the knot much later on, in 2014, though the marriage per se lasted less than 2 years with Angelina filing for divorce in September 2016, days after a private plane flight on which she claimed Brad was abusive to her and the kids. Untangling their real estate portfolio and joint assets took a sum total of 8 years, with the divorce being finalised on December 30, 2024. The GQ interview marks the first time that Brad has acknowledged the divorce. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his passion project F1, which has been in the making since July 2023. When asked if the film acted as a bit of a "refuge" for him amid the ongoing drama, Brad was quick to clarify, "Um, I don't see it that way", adding, "It's been an annoyance I've had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do. So, it's always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don't know. I don't know. Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it's like this fly buzzing around a little bit". As far as his personal life goes, Brad and his girlfriend of over 2 years, Ines de Ramon, are "in a great place", as per a source-based report on PEOPLE.
