Reminder: TAMS tranche 7 closing date approaching

Farmers are being reminded that the closing date for the current round of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) is fast approaching. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) previously confirmed that the deadline for applications under tranche 7 of the scheme will be Friday, June 6. TAMS, which is divided across a range of different measures, provides grants to farmers to build or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their farm. TAMS According to the latest data published by the department, 4,621 (79%) out of the 5,823 applications submitted under this tranche have now been approved. A further 853 applications are classified as 'in progress', 278 have been rejected and 71 withdrawn. There are 23 applications still outstanding in tranche 3. The department stated that 3,399 of the 3,799 tranche 3 applications have been approved. No update has yet been provided by DAFM on the status of the 4,931 applications submitted under tranche 6.

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has confirmed that just over 1,200 applications made under tranche 5 of the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) are yet to be processed. According to the latest data published by the department, 4,286 (74%) out of the 5,823 applications submitted under this tranche have now been approved. A further 1,223 applications are deemed to be 'in progress', 243 have been rejected and 71 withdrawn. The scheme, which is divided across a range of different measures, provides grants to farmers to build or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their farm. There are 32 applications still outstanding in tranche 3. The department noted that 3,398 of the 3,799 tranche 3 applications have been approved. No update has yet been provided on the status of the 4,931 applications under tranche 6. Tranche 7 of the scheme opened for applications on March 29 and will close on the previously announced date of June 6, 2025. TAMS Meanwhile, separate data published by the department shows that €2.3 million was paid out to farmers under TAMS last week. Over €2 million was paid to farmers in TAMS 3, while an additional €230,000 was paid out for TAMS 2. Around €63 million has now been paid out under TAMS 3 across 7,156 claims. There has been 28,000 TAMS 3 applications approved with over 9,200 payment claims submitted.

The scheme, which is divided across a range of different measures, provides grants to farmers to build or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their farm. The department said that 4,047 (70%) out of the 5,823 applications submitted for this tranche have now been approved. A further 1,470 applications still 'in progress', 235 have been rejected and 71 withdrawn from the scheme. There are 32 applications still outstanding in tranche 3. The department noted that 3,398 of the 3,799 tranche 3 applications have been approved. The department previously confirmed that 4,931 farmers made applications under tranche 6. No update has yet been provided on the status of these applications. DAFM is currently accepting applications from farmers under tranche 7 of the scheme. The closing date is on June 6, 2025. TAMS Meanwhile, the latest data published by the department also shows that €1.5 million was paid out to farmers under the TAMS last week. €1.47 million was paid to farmers in TAMS 3, while an additional €35,862 was paid out for TAMS 2. Around €61 million has now been paid out under TAMS 3 across 6,918 claims. There has been almost 27,600 TAMS 3 applications approved with over 9,000 payment claims submitted.

The scheme, which is divided across a range of measures, provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding. The department said that 3,108 (53%) out of the 5,823 applications submitted for this tranche have now been given the green light. There are a further 2,438 applications still 'in progress', 206 have been rejected and 71 withdrawn from the scheme. There are 35 applications still outstanding in tranche 3. The department noted that 3,395 of the 3,799 tranche 3 applications have been approved. The department previously confirmed that 4,931 farmers made applications under tranche 6. No update has yet been provided on the status of these applications. DAFM is currently accepting applications from farmers under Tranche 7 of the scheme. The closing date is on June 6, 2025. TAMS The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) previously confirmed that over half of the applications made for the 'mini-tranche' of the TAMS were for generators. In March, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon announced the three-week tranche in response to the unprecedented damage caused to the agriculture sector by Storm Éowyn. A total of 1,945 applications were submitted to the department by the deadline of March 28. The data from the department shows 1,217 applications submitted were for generators, 363 for wood and biomass chippers, 247 for sheep fencing, 224 for bovine fencing, 184 for mulchers and 52 for equine fencing. Galway was the county with highest number of applications at 341, followed by Mayo (218), Donegal (208), Cavan (142) and Clare (131). 'Applications are currently undergoing initial administrative checks, with approvals expected to issue to eligible applicants later this month,' a DAFM spokesperson told Agriland.
