Vintondale woman steals softball jersey money, detectives allege
VINCO, Pa. – A Vintondale woman faces criminal charges, accused of accepting more than $1,000 to buy jerseys for a softball tournament in July but keeping the money, authorities allege.
The Cambria County Detective Bureau charged Karlee Nicole Kellichner, 27, of the 2600 block of Rexis Road, with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property.
According to a complaint affidavit, Kellichner and a group of women agreed to play in the Annual Freebird Softball Tournament held July 20 and 21 at the McMullen Memorial Field in the 700 block of McCoy Street in Nanty Glo.
Kellichner was elected to collect money for the entry fee and the jerseys. She allegedly told the other players that the jerseys were on back order, and was to deliver them once they arrived.
Kellichner allegedly collected $1,210 that was not returned.
The charges were filed before District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi, of Vinco.
