Interview: GOT7 Jay B On La Roche-Posay's New Anthelios UVMune 400, His Skincare Routine & Future Solo Projects
Skincare brand La Roche-Posay recently launched its latest innovation, the Anthelios UVMune 400 Anti-Dark-Spots Fluid SPF 50+, in Malaysia with a special celebrity appearance by Jay B (제이비), leader of GOT7. Formulated to meet the challenges of Malaysia's extreme UV levels, this next-generation sunscreen offers ultra-long UVA protection and visible dark-spot correction in a single, ultra-light formula. During the launch at Mid Valley Megamall, the K-pop idol also shared his personal skincare journey, underscoring the importance of reliable sun protection during both his performances and outdoor personal activities, so he can effectively shield himself from the sun. We also got to interview the idol himself to hear what he said about the new product, his skincare routine and his upcoming projects. 1. What is your daily skincare routine, and how do you incorporate the new Anthelios UVMune 400 into your day? Firstly, I start every morning with a mild cleanser and moisturising products. Lastly, I applied La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 sunscreen before going out. 2. What skincare or beauty products do you always bring with you when you travel? Since I'm mostly involved in outdoor activities. I always need to bring sunscreen with me. I genuinely carry sunscreen everywhere. Besides that, I have experienced sunburn before, and I felt like the skin tone didn't suit me. I also realised that under stage lights and when I'm out at beaches or doing water sports, sun protection isn't just about avoiding burns. Long-wave UVA can bounce off surfaces or slip through windows, and I began to notice small dark spots after a while. Now I never step outside without sunscreen—it's the first thing I put on. That's why sunscreen has become essential for me to always bring it. 3. What is your personal beauty philosophy, and how has it evolved over time? When I was young, my skin was naturally smooth, so I didn't have a specific beauty philosophy or routine. Now, looking back, I think if I were still at that age, even 1 year younger, I would have put more effort into skin care. 4. Your last visit to Malaysia was in April for your solo concert. Now that you're back, is there anything you'd like to try that you didn't get to do the last time? Actually, I got some travel recommendations from my friends, and I really want to go travelling. I recently went to Bali. I heard that some places in Malaysia offer scuba diving. I would love to go and try it. If I get the chance, I'll definitely bring La Roche Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 sunscreen with me. 5. What's a typical day like for you when you're not working? When I am not working, I look for various activities. But usually, I spent time practising, whether it's vocal training, instrument practice as well or language learning sessions. 6. What is next for your solo career? Are you currently working on new music? I am always working on new music. However, when it will be released depends on the right timing. I hope it will be released as soon as possible, so I can share the new album and meet my fans as well.

Popular sun cream slashed in price at Sephora
Popular sun cream slashed in price at Sephora This viral summer essential is a firm favourite for lots of shoppers - but why, exactly? Woman applying sun cream on the beach (Image: Getty ) You've probably heard about a viral sunscreen that's become a go-to for lots of shoppers. But is La Roche-Posay's Anthelios UVMune 400 SPF50+ actually worth it? When it comes to sunscreen, finding one that offers strong protection without irritating your skin can feel like a never-ending search. And the La Roche-Posay sunscreen , which is currently reduced from £20 to £16 promises high protection, with a formula that's ultra-resistant to water, sweat, and sand, and it's specifically designed for sensitive skin, so it could be a great time to bag it before the sunshine reappears. It markets itself on its lightweight, non-greasy texture that leaves no white cast. It's also perfume-free, hypoallergenic, and tested to be gentle enough for all skin types and tones. But what do customers think? For money-saving tips, sign up to our Money newsletter here La Roche-Posay's Anthelios UVMune 400 SPF50+ (Image: Getty ) One enthusiastic buyer wrote: 'Leaves no white cast. Is honestly amazing and has a very faint sunscreen smell. 'I mix it with moisturiser in the morning but honestly you could go with it just on its own as it genuinely moisturised and I think it's doing an amazing job at sun protection!!' Another reviewer shared how well it works for sensitive and acne-prone skin, writing: 'This is the only sunscreen that works well for my sensitive acne prone skin . It doesn't break me out nor burn my eyes. 'I've used countless bottles of this and will keep repurchasing because it's that good and does what it says.' Someone else noted that it had saved their skin during trips abroad, saying: 'Great suncream. Definitely saved my skin on multiple holiday trips. 'Very light formula. It has a decent set of filters, enough to protect you against the skin burn.' However, not everyone was impressed. One reviewer found it a bit too much for their skin type and didn't enjoy the finish, noting: 'It's an overhyped product. I found it so greasy and looks like applying an oil on face.' That last comment highlights something worth noting as while many users praise the texture and lightweight feel, others might find it too dewy or shiny depending on their skin type. Overall, it seems to be a strong choice for people with sensitive skin who are looking for dependable, high-factor protection that won't sting the eyes or cause breakouts. But if you're looking for something a little different, there are plenty of other options on the market. If you're fancying something that feels high end, there's the Dior Solar The Protective Cream SPF 50 which you can get for £48. Alternatively, there's also the Ultrasun SPF50+ Extreme 100ml for £19.20 at Boots. Article continues below Or, if you do fancy the La Roche sunscreen, you can bag it while it's reduced on Sephora here for £16.

7 Backpack Skincare Essentials Every Active Traveller Needs
Quick Read Summary is AI generated, newsroom reviewed. For outdoor adventures, skincare is essential. A simple routine with micellar water, SPF 30+, a multi-tasking moisturiser, face wipes, overnight serum, SPF lip balm, and solid alternatives keeps skin healthy without taking much space in your pack. If your idea of a holiday includes hiking trails, surf sessions and full-on outdoor adventures, skincare might not be top of mind — but it should be. Sun, sweat, wind, altitude, and patchy hygiene can wreak havoc on your skin, leaving it dry, irritated or breaking out. Whether you're trekking in Patagonia or navigating city heatwaves in Europe, a simple, effective routine is key. And no, the free soap in your hostel bathroom isn't going to cut it. Here's a smart, backpack-friendly skincare guide to keep your skin healthy, happy and glowing — without taking up precious space in your pack. Here Are 7 Skincare Essentials Every Backpacker Must Carry: 1. Micellar Water Let's face it — when you've been hiking all day or caught a red-eye flight, a full double cleanse isn't happening. Enter: micellar water. These cleansing waters use micelle molecules to gently lift away dirt, oil, sunscreen and even makeup — no rinsing needed. Backpacker favourite: Bioderma Sensibio H2O (available in a 100ml travel size). It's gentle, fragrance-free and doesn't require water — perfect when you're washing your face with a trickle from a hostel tap. 2. SPF 30+ Even on cloudy days or in colder climates, UV rays are at work. A broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher should be the first thing you put on each morning. Bonus points for finding one that doesn't clog pores or feel greasy. La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 SPF50+ is non-comedogenic, sweat-resistant, and developed for sensitive skin. Plus, it comes in a compact, leak-proof bottle. 3. Multi-tasking Moisturiser Space is precious, so opt for a moisturiser that hydrates and supports your skin barrier without any fuss. Look for ingredients like glycerin, ceramides or hyaluronic acid. Try CeraVe Moisturising Cream. It's fragrance-free, suitable for all skin types and available in mini tubes. It doubles up as a hand or body cream too, saving you more room in your bag. 4. Face Wipes Face wipes aren't ideal for daily use, but they can be a godsend on overnight buses, treks or festival-style campsites with no running water. Use them sparingly, and always follow up with a proper cleanse when you can. One of the gentlest options is Simple Biodegradable Facial Wipes. They're free from alcohol and artificial perfumes — less likely to cause irritation or leave a sticky residue. 5. Overnight Serum Jet lag, late nights, and changing climates can dull your skin fast. A travel-sized serum with antioxidants or niacinamide can help repair and brighten your skin overnight without much effort. Worth the weight: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. It balances sebum, calms breakouts and improves texture. The 30ml bottle slips easily into your liquids bag. 6. Lip Balm With SPF Chapped lips can creep up quickly in windy, dry or high-altitude environments. Add sun exposure into the mix and you're looking at cracked, painful lips. Top pick: NIVEA Sun Protect SPF 30 Lip Balm. It's budget-friendly, widely available, and offers solid protection. 7. Solid Alternatives (To Beat The 100ml Rule) If you're flying carry-on only, liquids can be a pain. Consider swapping some products for solid alternatives. Lush's Fresh Farmacy Cleanser Bar and Ethique's The Perfector Solid Moisturiser are both backpacker favourites — mess-free, compact and TSA-approved.
