Billie Eilish's Brother, Finneas, Revealed He Was 'Tear Gassed Almost Immediately' While Attending A Peaceful Anti-ICE Protest, Plus More Celebs Who Are Denouncing The Raids
Finneas O'Connell has revealed that he was tear-gassed while attending a recent protest against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department's raids. The protests, which took place over the weekend, saw people campaigning against ICE's raids of numerous workplaces in LA while searching for alleged immigration violations. On Friday, over 40 people were arrested in a raid, with LA Mayor Karen Bass telling reporters, 'ICE initiated enforcement actions on several workplaces. That created a sense of chaos, outrage, fear, and terror because people are very worried as to what happened to their families.' President Donald Trump then deployed 2,000 National Guard soldiers to LA to put an end to the protests, which led to numerous attendees being tear-gassed. Finneas, who is the elder brother of singer Billie Eilish, wrote on his Instagram stories: 'Tear gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown- they're inciting this.' Hilary Duff reposted a message from writer, podcaster, & content creator Whitney Alese, which read, 'Masked men abducting people off the street, from their jobs, from their cars, from graduations is not ok. Forcing toddlers & young children to represent themselves in court is not ok. Snatching people when their lawyers are in the bathroom is not ok. Having children come home to an empty house bc their guardians were snatched up is not ok. Arresting law abiding folks at their immigration hearing is not ok. Don't normalize this. Don't look away. Don't stay silent.' Dale's Donuts in LA permanently closed due to riot-linked car fire? Here's the truth
Amid the Los Angeles riots, social media posts have claimed that the iconic Dale's Donuts in the city has permanently closed. An X post shared a video of a car on fire in front of Dale's Donuts. The caption reads, 'The iconic American-owned Dale's Donuts in Los Angeles has permanently closed after a group of illegals set a car on fire in front of their business during anti-ICE protest and the LAPD did nothing.' Several X users fact-checked the claim, saying the iconic shop actually shuttered in 2021. One user wrote, 'Once again, this shi*** 'News' account spreads lies and nonsense. Dale's Donuts in Compton (at 15904 S. Atlantic Ave) permanently closed in October 2021. That's when the iconic 'Big Donut' drive-in shut its doors after more than 70 years in operation.. NOT BECAUSE OF 'Anti-ICE Protests' Clown.' Another X user slammed those 'spreading lies and nonsense' about the store closure. It does appear that Dale's Donut in Compton, Los Angeles, has not been operating since 2021. Yelp reviews from this year show that the shop is out of business. Even though the restaurant was featured in the Super Bowl Halftime show in 2022, it had been closed for some time prior to that, according to the Los Angeles Times. Meanwhile, protests have flared up in Los Angeles, with Donald Trump suggesting that the troops be brought in. In another Truth Social post, the President stated that Los Angeles 'has been invaded and occupied by Illegal Aliens and Criminals.' 'Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations — But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve. I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots. Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free. Thank you for your attention to this matter!' Trump wrote.

Mayor Karen Bass faces renewed arrest calls amid LA riots, 6 months after wildfire backlash: 'She is responsible'
Riots have erupted in Los Angeles following federal immigration enforcement raids that led to the arrest of more than 40 people. On Friday and Saturday, protests escalated as federal agents fired tear gas and flash-bang grenades into crowds opposing the raids. On Saturday, President Donald Trump announced the deployment of 2,000 California National Guard troops to the city. A White House press release said: "In recent days, violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents carrying out basic deportation operations in Los Angeles, California. 'These operations are essential to halting and reversing the invasion of illegal criminals into the United States. In the wake of this violence, California's feckless Democrat leaders have completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens. That is why President Trump has signed a Presidential Memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester.' As the unrest continued, online calls intensified for the arrest of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, with critics blaming her for failing to control the situation. One person wrote on X, "Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is responsible for the chaos and lawlessness happening now. Its time to play hardball. Arrest Karen Bass." Another commented, 'Anti-ICE rioters attacking DHS Agents in Los Angeles for the 2nd day in a row. It sounds and looks like a war zone because it is. 'This morning, we received reports of federal immigration enforcement actions in multiple locations in Los Angeles. As Mayor of a proud city of immigrants, who contribute to our city in so many ways, I am deeply angered by what has taken place. These tactics sow terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city. My Office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations. We will not stand for this,' she wrote. This is not the first time Bass has faced backlash. In January, she drew criticism and similar arrest calls over her handling of the wildfires that swept through parts of the city.
