Drug Control Department Foils Attempt by Two Arab Nationals to Manufacture Crystal Meth in Jordan (Photos)

Drug The Jordan Anti-Narcotics Department has thwarted an attempt by two Arab nationals to manufacture crystal meth inside the Kingdom, as part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking. اضافة اعلان Since the beginning of this week, the Anti-Narcotics Department has handled nine significant cases, arresting 25 drug dealers, promoters, and smugglers. The department seized large quantities of various illegal drugs in the process. One of the most notable cases involved the foiling of a plot to manufacture the deadly drug crystal meth by two individuals of Arab nationality inside Jordan. Following intelligence reports that chemicals had been smuggled into the country for the purpose of producing crystal meth, a special investigative team was formed several months ago. The team monitored and gathered information about the two suspects, including their movements, entry, and exit from the Kingdom. After careful investigation, the authorities identified the location where the drugs were being produced — an apartment in the city of Irbid. The team executed a raid and apprehended the suspects. Upon searching the apartment, they discovered 15 kilograms of crystal meth and ten liters of chemicals used in its production. In a subsequent operation in the Al-Ruwaishid area, a group of individuals was raided after it was suspected they were storing large quantities of pills. Four individuals were arrested, and 125,000 narcotic pills along with two firearms were seized. At the Jaber Border Crossing, in collaboration with Jordanian customs and security agencies, two drug smuggling cases were intercepted. The first involved a vehicle suspected of carrying sweets and chocolates. Upon inspection, authorities found 12,000 narcotic pills and half a kilogram of crystal meth hidden inside the boxes. The smuggler was arrested, and further investigations led to the identification of two individuals receiving the drugs in the Kingdom, who were also apprehended. In the second smuggling case, a vehicle carrying 65,000 narcotic pills hidden inside cigarette boxes was intercepted while attempting to enter the Kingdom through the Jaber Border. The individual involved in the case was arrested. In Amman, the department conducted a raid on drug dealers and suspects in the Jabal al-Taj area, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, one of whom was classified as dangerous and armed. Various amounts of drugs were seized. In northern Jordan, two individuals were arrested for using social media to sell narcotic pills, and 7,000 pills were confiscated from them. Meanwhile, in Aqaba, a special operation was conducted to apprehend a drug dealer suspected of transporting a large quantity of drugs from Aqaba to Amman. The individual was arrested, and 12,000 narcotic pills, along with quantities of crystal meth and marijuana, were found in his vehicle. In the town of Al-Rusayfah, two drug dealers were arrested, and 8 bundles of hashish, along with crystal meth, were seized. In the final case, a drug dealer in Mafraq was arrested, and four bundles of hashish were found in his possession. This series of operations demonstrates Jordan's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and curb the spread of illicit substances within its borders.
