Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate now available on Apple Macs: File size, price, more

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate has been released for Apple Macs based on its M-series silicon. Notably, this is the first time that Mac users will be able to play Cyberpunk. To compensate for the delay, the Polish video game development studio that build Cyberpunk, CD Projekt Red, has brought the base game and all post-release content including the Phantom Liberty expansion to Macs at once. The game makes use of the full capabilities of the M-series chips to deliver a smooth performance, sharp visuals, and more. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate is now available for purchase on Apple App Store however, the US technology company has suggested that before purchasing the game, users must check whether their Mac is compatible with the game or not. Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate on Mac: System requirements Game size: 149.26 GB (CD Projekt Red has suggested users to keep in store around an additionally 15 per cent of size of the game for download and installation process) Processor: Will run on a Mac with M1 chip or later OS: macOS 15.5 or later RAM: 16GB Average FPS: 30 The aforementioned are minimum requirements. However, to run the game smoothly and at its full potential, Apple App Store recommends at least an M3 Pro chip powering the Mac. This has been done because Ray Tracing is only supported on M3 or later chips. As for RAM and frames per second, at least 18GB of RAM and 60 fps display is recommended. Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate on Mac: Price Price: Rs 4,199 Akin to the original game, there are no in-app purchases in the game, meaning that consumers only need to pay Rs 4,199 to play the complete game along with its expansion. Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate: How has it been optimised to make the most of Macs On Macs, the game leverages Apple's Metal graphics framework to enhance both performance and visual fidelity. With native Metal integration and support for MetalFX upscaling, it has been claimed to achieve smoother gameplay and better frame rates, even under high graphical loads. An upcoming update will introduce advanced Metal 4 features, including MetalFX Frame Interpolation—which inserts additional frames for more fluid motion—and MetalFX Denoising, which improves image quality during real-time ray tracing at higher settings. These enhancements will enable the game to run at up to 120fps on compatible Macs, delivering a more responsive gaming experience without sacrificing efficiency. What is Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate edition is the definitive version of CD Projekt Red's open-world action RPG, set in the dystopian future of Night City. Players step into the role of V, a mercenary navigating a world shaped by powerful corporations, cybernetic upgrades, and advanced technology. This edition includes the base game, all major post-launch updates, and the Phantom Liberty expansion, which introduces a new storyline and region to explore. Renowned for its branching narrative and immersive first-person gameplay, the game offers deep character customisation and a variety of playstyles—ranging from direct combat to stealth and dialogue-driven choices. With all content and technical refinements bundled together, the Ultimate Edition offers the most complete experience for newcomers and returning players alike. In related news, CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on July 17. The update brings a variety of new features, such as auto-driving support, additional vehicles, enhanced photo mode tools, and multiple gameplay refinements, and more.

AI + hardware = Left to our ultimate device

Everybody is besotted by AI, and the idea of AI. What the technology doesn't have - yet - though, is a product to identify itself with. AI works its magic in huge server farms that compute at crazy speeds and burn up a lot of energy. Most of us interact with the tech through apps on smartphones or personal computers, which send our questions to the cloud, which then forwards them to those server farms. Our interaction with AI is through visual, audible and tactile prompts on smartphones. Only that this interaction limits AI, which can absorb data and compute all the time, rendering human prompts irrelevant. Imagine a device sitting in your pocket, or a gadget that can be accessorised, which can read the world in real time - much like our brains do. Now, that would be the holy grail for an AI device. This has brought Jony Ive, master designer of Apple Macs and iPhones, and OpenAI headspace guru Sam Altman together to take a crack at making a consumer device that can change how humans interact with AI. This is not the first attempt, although the $6.5 bn acquisition of Ive's 1-year-old startup io by OpenAI - announced earlier this week, but a collaboration that began two years ago - makes it the buzziest bid. It's also expensive, at almost twice the amount of OpenAI's expected sales this year. io, despite its vaunted pedigree, is yet to turn in a profit. OpenAI's investors, who have raised its valuation to eye-watering levels, would want to see returns soon. Remember, Chinese AI startup DeepSeek released an open-source AI bot at a fraction of the cost of - and considerably quicker than - those being developed by the likes of OpenAI, which has since shocked and awed the (US-focused) world. Apple, the maker of the most successful consumer electronics device in history, will be looking at the AI hardware issue more intensely. It has been making gradual improvements to its original designs, culminating in the introduction of AI in its latest product portfolio. Hardware for ambient computing is an idea up for grabs.

Business awards spotlight Suffolk's visionary businesses

The East Anglian Daily Times is delighted to announce the launch of the EADT Business Awards 2025 - celebrating the very best of Suffolk business. From the moment I started my first job in journalism at the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star in 1992, things have been changing. There was still a typewriter on one of the desks on my first day at Lower Brook Street in Ipswich. It wasn't in use, but not so long ago that it had been. Back then, we used clunky computers with green flashing blobs and everything you typed would hover in the blob (or so it seemed) before flashing across the screen all at once. When I moved to London, we had Quickmail and Quick Conference – a terrifying system where your message could fly up on the recipient's screen. Woe betide you if you sent a message to your friend about your annoying boss – only to discover that because you'd been thinking about him, your message had gone to your boss instead! EADT editor Liz Nice at the EADT Business Awards 2024 (Image: Matthew Potter Photography and Videography) From there, we got Apple Macs (mine was pink) and we really thought we'd made it. But the internet hadn't even been born yet and when it did appear, after the brief period of disaster they called the crash, suddenly the game changed yet again. It has been changing, more or less monthly, ever since. And yet I'm still here. Still in this business. Most of my contemporaries are not. I can't say why that is the case, but I can say what I've had to do to still be here: stifle a heck of a lot of eye rolls, smile when I didn't mean it, laugh when it wasn't funny, stay awake through a lot of not very interesting monologues. But hey, we've all done that, haven't we? That isn't enough. The real secret to longevity, along with sticking at it and loving what you do, is the ability to adapt to changing circumstances with optimism, not dread. If you stay looking forward, not back, you'll keep going. And if you support your colleagues and stick up for them, they will go with you and hold you up when you need it, because it was you who held them up when they needed you to. We have a great, forward-looking business community in Suffolk, facing innumerable changes and challenges. And we will keep on embracing those changes and challenges and making them work for us because that is what we do if we want to stick around. I will look forward to seeing you all at our beloved Business Awards, to be held at Kesgrave Hall on July 10, where we will be celebrating the new, the bright, the beautiful and the brilliant – if you're still here, still doing the thing you love with hope and passion, that's you, by the way. If you want the rest of the county to know about it and be inspired, then please visit our website at and get your entry in by the deadline on April 6 – because everything will change again tomorrow and I promise you this – it's always good to remember where you've been and how far you have come.
