'Hot Girls Eat Arby's': Sophie Cunningham partners with chain on new shirt

A WNBA star known for her hot social media takes has partnered with fast food chain Arby's. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham debuted the Arby's partnership while arriving at a game against the Chicago Sky on Sunday, July 27, and in a collaborative Instagram post. Photos of the basketball star wearing a ringer tee that read, "Hot Girls Eat Arby's," were posted to Cunningham and Arby's accounts. "Look who has the meats now," reads the post's caption, a play on the fast food chain's longtime slogan. In conjunction with the social media post, Arby's is selling the now-viral crop top for $20. As of Monday, July 28, small and large sizes of the shirt were already sold out. The one-time partnership follows an April TikTok video of Cunningham filming an Arby's mukbang – a video in which someone eats for an audience. In the video, Cunningham chows down on two Arby's sliders while coming off of anesthesia. "I haven't had Arby's in a really long time, I think for obvious reasons, but why did I ever go away from them? Not bad. Actually not bad at all," Cunningham said in the video, which as of July 28, had more than 881,000 views. Cunningham finishes the video with a laugh, "I think I'm going to go ahead and give Arby's a solid nine out of 10." Greta Cross is a national trending reporter at USA TODAY. Story idea? Sophie Cunningham Goes Viral: 'Hot Girls Eat Arby's' Shirt, Accidental Cameraman Sit, and an Endorsement Deal to Match

Sophie Cunningham may have just pulled off the most chaotic viral double play of the WNBA season: walk into a Barbie Night game wearing a 'Hot Girls Eat Arby's' tee, walk out with both an endorsement deal and a cameraman's faceprint on her backside. Let's break this down. Arby's Shirt Sparks Internet Frenzy Ahead of tonight's matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, Cunningham arrived at Wintrust Arena in full hot girl meets fast food glory, confidently rocking a white T-shirt that read: 'Hot Girls Eat Arby's.' The slogan was both absurd and iconic, a punchy nod to the viral food review she did back in April when she filmed herself trying Arby's for the first time in what became an oddly charming and meme-worthy video. Four months later, she brought the joke full circle in front of thousands of fans during a themed 'Barbie Night' game. 'An unapologetic queen,' the official Arby's account wrote in a quote tweet, sharing a picture of Sophie in the shirt. And just like that, the roast beef chain made it official: Sophie Cunningham is now an Arby's girl. A real one. Social media lost it immediately: 'Greatest crossover ever.' 'Imagine being so hungry you eat Arby's.' 'Arby's loves our Sophie!' 'I always knew y'a had bad taste from how bad your food is.' 'Arby's getting the Sophie Cunningham endorsement. Priceless.' There's always backlash when fast food meets femininity, but the larger reaction was one of gleeful disbelief. Cunningham managed to meme herself into a brand deal without losing an ounce of cool, a masterclass in modern athlete marketing. The Viral Sit: Sophie vs. Cameraman But if that wasn't enough Sophie content for one night, the real viral moment came in the second quarter when Cunningham got fouled by Chicago's Rebecca Allen and, in a chaotic tumble, accidentally sat on a cameraman's face. The moment, somehow both clumsy and cinematic, was caught on tape and posted by infamous basketball parody account NBACentel. Within hours, the video soared past 2.7 million views, and reactions were exactly as unhinged as you'd expect. '4,271 camera man applications were submitted this afternoon. 4,270 from me.' 'Why did she look back in disgust like he's some perv that assaulted her?' 'I'm going to go to film school now.''And they say God doesn't have a favorite.' 'Hate seeing people living my dream.' The cameraman, who has not been identified, reportedly is fine, but no word yet on whether he'll ever recover spiritually from being accidentally sat on by a viral internet queen in an Arby's tee. The Barbie Night That Became a Brand Moment Between the shirt, the endorsement, and the perfectly timed pratfall, Cunningham's night was a trifecta of memeable madness. In an era where WNBA players are increasingly becoming lifestyle and cultural icons, this was Cunningham's defining moment, not just as a baller, but as a brand in her own right. The Barbie-themed night may have been marketed around pink and sparkle, but Sophie gave it roast beef and chaos. She played 21 minutes, added 9 points and 3 rebounds to the stat sheet, and somehow left more viral than anyone else on the court. From Arby's Order to Icon Status Back in April, no one, possibly not even Cunningham, expected that a quick Arby's taste test would evolve into a marketing coup. But with her sense of humor, confidence, and now-memeified status as 'that girl who sat on the cameraman,' she's claimed a unique cultural space. The WNBA season is still young, but Sophie Cunningham has already won Viral Moment of the Year, with a sandwich chain and an accidental facial sit-in as her co-stars. God bless the internet. ‘Tonight Show' Calls Out Senate Democrats, Chuck Schumer: ‘I've Eaten Roast Beef at Arby's Tougher Than This Guy'

'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' called in former president Barack Obama (Dion Flynn) Tuesday night to give some advice to House and Senate Democrats in their fight against the Trump Administration. Flynn's return as Obama came on the heels of recent comments the former president made at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, in which he urged Democratic leadership to 'toughen up.' Flynn's Obama echoed that sentiment during Tuesday's 'Tonight Show' monologue. 'I'm not just talking about Democratic voters. I'm talking about the Democrats in power,' he told Fallon. 'Take Chuck Schumer, for example. I mean, just look at him. I've eaten roast beef at Arby's tougher than this guy.' 'He has a tough time just keeping his damn glasses on his nose.' When he was asked who Democrats should look to in America right now for strong leadership, Flynn's Obama offered, 'You gotta go with the popular vote. So right now the front-runners are Huda from 'Love Island'… or a Labubu doll.' You can watch Tuesday's 'Tonight Show' monologue yourself in the video below. It was not just Chuck Schumer that Flynn's Obama went after on last night's 'Tonight Show.' When pressed by Fallon, the caricature of the former president did not have many nice things to say about Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, California Governor Gavin Newsom or even his former vice president, Joe Biden. 'Look at him. What do you think he can bench? 100, 200 ounces?' Flynn's Obama joked about Sanders. 'I'll bet he still exercises with that old-timey machine that vibrates your body with a belt.' 'What about the younger rising Democrats like Gavin Newsom?' Fallon later inquired, to which Flynn's Obama responded, 'Oh, Gavin Newsom, come on. Really? You think that's tough? A guy who looks like he placed fourth in a Pat Riley look-alike contest?' As for Biden, Fallon asked whether or not Flynn's Obama thought his fellow former president was tough enough to combat Trump. 'Come on now. Look, you know I love Joe, but one time I sneezed and he blew through the Oval Office wall. He made an outline of himself like Wile E. Coyote,' the 'Tonight Show' veteran joked. 'At this point, the man is 90% dust.' The post 'Tonight Show' Calls Out Senate Democrats, Chuck Schumer: 'I've Eaten Roast Beef at Arby's Tougher Than This Guy' | Video appeared first on TheWrap.
