Chicago police seek 3 suspects in South Chicago armed robberies
Police are looking for a group of men who they said robbed multiple people at gunpoint in the South Chicago neighborhood this month. The robberies happened during the morning and afternoon hours between July 18 and July 26. Chicago police said three people would approach the victims, display handguns, and take their belongings before fleeing either on foot or in a dark-in-color four-door sedan. Incident times and locations: Police were not able to provide a detailed description of the suspects. Woman killed, man hurt in drive-by shooting in Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood
A woman is dead and a man was taken to the hospital after a drive-by shooting overnight on the city's South Side. It happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 7500 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. Chicago police said officers responded to a report of a person shot and found a man, whose age was not released, and a 37-year-old woman in an alley who were hit by gunfire. The woman was hit multiple times in the abdomen and died at the scene. The man was hit once in the knee and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition. As of Saturday, no one is in custody. Area 2 detectives are investigating.

$10K reward offered for information in fatal shooting of teen girl in Chatham
Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest of the gunmen who shot and killed a teenage girl on Friday night. Meeyah Smith, 16, and a 35-year-old man were in the 1200 block of East 83rd Street just before 11 p.m. when Chicago police said they were approached on foot by an unknown man who pulled out a gun and fired shots in their direction. Both victims were taken to Jackson Park Hospital. Smith was shot in the throat and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The man suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh and is in good condition The Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest of the individuals involved. The public is reminded not to attempt to confront or apprehend suspects, as they should be considered armed and dangerous. Area 2 Detectives are actively investigating the case and are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could help identify the shooter to come forward. Man, 51, killed in drive-by shooting in West Pullman neighborhood
A 51-year-old man was killed early Monday morning in a drive-by shooting on the city's South Side. It happened shortly after 5:37 a.m. in the 11500 block of South Prairie Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood. According to Chicago police, the man was outside, standing near the sidewalk, when he was approached by two unknown sedans. Occupants in both vehicles pulled out guns and fired shots in his direction, hitting him multiple times in the leg. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he later died. Police said no arrests were made. Area 2 detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
