When Jaya Bachchan's Wit left Amitabh Speechless At Agneepath's Kolkata Premiere

Last Updated: A video surfaced on social media featuring throwback glimpses from Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Agneepath's premiere in Kolkata. Amitabh Bachchan's Agneepath is a cult classic of all time. Directed by Mukul S. Anand, and produced under the Dharma Productions banner, the movie garnered immense attention for its intense performances and socio-political themes in the plot. Now, a throwback video from one of the movie's premieres in Kolkata surfaced on social media, evoking a sense of nostalgia. Additionally, users have been constantly reacting to Jaya's younger-day looks and attitude. In a video posted by the Lehren Retro IG page, we can spot the cast and crew members of the 1990 released action crime film written by Santosh Saroj and Kader Khan, arriving for one of its events. The video was from Agneepath's charity premiere at Nandan, Kolkata, for the Army Wives Welfare Association. As the video begins, Jaya Bachchan can be seen exiting a bus carrying all the A-listers, followed by the other stars of the movie. Dressed in a beige-hued blouse and a red saree, the veteran actress looked every bit gorgeous, even in her minimal yet stylish ethnic avatar. She was also seen merrily meeting and greeting the organisers of the event. Afterwards, Jaya walked inside the theatre hall alongside her husband and the lead star of Agneepath Amitabh Bachchan. Mithun Chakraborty and others also joined them. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lehren (@lehrentv) Later, when the scene changed, Jaya even teased Amitabh by talking about the iconic scene from the film featuring Mithun alongside a small kid. She said, 'Pata nhi ye picture apne kitni door tak dekhi hai ya kitni der tak dekhi hai. Iss film mein ek scene hai, yaha ke …ek chote bachche ko lakar kehna hai ki ye humara family ka bachcha hai aur …" leaving the Amitabh, who played the role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, a man who enters the Mumbai underworld to avenge the wrongful death of his father and the injustices, stunned. Amitabh then says, 'Main baas itna kehna chahta huun ki aesa bolne se mujhse toh puch liya hota," to which Mithun was also seen adding to the humour. To this, one of her fans replied, 'She has the most beautiful smile- u can watch her movies- and if anyone is pulling ur hand, force fully wants to take ur pic- would u laugh??" Another user commented, 'Jaya ji," followed by a couple of heart-eyed emojis. 'See her old movies…she was soooo innocent, beautiful & talented….life/situations can change a person….it was quite common for a woman to change after marriage in that generation," read a comment.
