A man who was shot in the eye and buried alive is alleged to be one of the victims of a 'contract crew' wanted for questioning after a six-day crime spree across several states. Police believe a Victorian drug trafficking syndicate may be linked to the three incidents that occurred within a six-day period mid last year. The first incident occurred about 5am on July 21 last year when a 23-year-old man wandered into a service station in Jimboomba, Queensland, covered in dirt with a bullet wound through his head. 'We don't have the exact details - that is also part of our appeal today, is to establish what the exact motive may have been,' he said. 'In relation to that, we believe the kidnapping of the first male is also linked to a drug trafficking syndicate and something that's gone wrong within that trafficking syndicate. 'In relation to the attempted murder of the man in Queensland, that unfortunately is not that clear - it remains unclear at the moment, the exact motive, but there is a possibility that that also is linked to (it).' He said the CCTV footage of Mr Choup being slapped by another man demonstrated the 'level of hierarchy' within the syndicate. Superintendent Doueihi said it had been seen often that part of the syndicate's 'torturing technique' involved severing hostages' ears, fingers, and toes to try to get the information they wanted. 'I don't know - well, we don't know what the exact nature of the dispute was here,' he said. 'It may be a case of missing drugs or missing money. If I was a betting man, that's what I would say the situation was. '(It's) an absolute high level of violence. It's unfortunate that we are seeing this high level of violence. 'And these are linked to these organised crime drug trafficking groups, who we believe majority are from an Asian background.' Superintendent Doueihi said the surviving victims were talking to police to 'a certain extent', but were not fully cooperating. He told reporters it was believed the contract crew remained in Australia. One is believed to be the victim, who police suggest was picked up in NSW and driven to Queensland where his attempted murder took place. In relation to the kidnapping, vision shows an image of the boxcutter police allege was used to sever the man's ear, as well as CCTV of two vehicles travelling in convoy at the intersection of Freeman Ave and Sackville St in Canley Vale around the time of the incident. New South Wales Police is hunting for a "contract crew" it believes is responsible for three horror incidents, including murder and torture, over a six-day period. Homicide detectives have spent the past almost one year investigating the death of 28-year-old Rich 'Dylan' Choup whose remains were found in bushland off Heathcote Road at Lucas Heights, in Sydney's south, by a group of trail bike riders on August 31 last year. A post mortem found Mr Choup, who had been reported missing one month earlier, had died after being fatally shot, and the father also had the top of his right ear cut off. Investigators believe his murder may be connected to two other violent incidents, which happened in the space of six days, and linked to a Victorian drug-trafficking ring. The first happened on July 19 when a man was kidnapped in Canley Vale. The 31-year-old was tortured by the kidnappers before his ear was partly severed. Police say the incident was never reported but detectives raided a home months later on October 10 where the man was believed to have been held captive. A box cutter was seized during the search. CCTV footage was released on Monday showing a dark-coloured Audi SQ2 and white Volkswagen Golf travelling together in convoy at the intersection of Freeman Avenue and Sackville Street in Canley Vale around the time of the kidnapping. The next incident occurred in the early hours of July 21, two days after the kidnapping, in Queensland where a man was shot in the eye and buried in a shallow grave. The 23-year-old man managed to dig himself out and went into a service station in Jimboomba, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and collapsed on the floor. Workers called emergency services, despite the man's request not to. He had been shot through the eye, with the bullet lodged in his brain. Police also on Monday shared security vision of a white Hyundai Getz near an eatery in Nambucca Heads on the NSW Mid North Coast on July 2 about 5.30am. One of the four passengers in the car is believed to be the victim. CCTV footage showed the 23-year-old miraculously walk into the petrol. He is seen talking to a worker before he went to the back of the store and leaned against a counter as he used what appeared to be a paper towel to stop the bleeding. The final incident was the alleged murder of Mr Choup. The 28-year-old was last seen alive on the night of July 24 in Cabramatta, Sydney's south-west, where he told friends to wait for him as he was meeting someone nearby. CCTV footage showed him 15 minutes later being slapped and apprehended by a man as he sat on a wall on Railway Parade, with the conversation appearing animated. The man then grabbed Mr Choup's arm and gestured him to walk towards a grey Audi SQ2. Police suspect that car may have been used in the Canley Vale kidnapping. Vision of a white Lexus and white Audi RS3 were also shared by investigators, as well as images of two men seen moving the cars after Mr Choup vanished.
