Chris Hemsworth talks about legacy of Thor and his return in Marvel's Avengers Doomsday. Watch

Marvel's Thor is one of the most important characters of the main MCU timeline and the central comic-book timeline as well. Often referred to as the 'strongest Avenger', the character made its MCU debut in Thor (2011), with Chris Hemsworth deciding to don the red cape and the mighty hammer. On Wednesday, Chris Hemsworth shared an emotional video on his YouTube channel, revisiting some of Thor's most memorable moments across the Marvel films. He also delivered a message that's sure to leave fans feeling both nostalgic and excited. The video starts with one of Odin's (played by Anthony Hopkins) iconic dialogues, where he recites the oath which is supposed to be taken by his son Thor, as a protector of the nine realms. Just as we see Thor rise up to the occasion, filmmaker Kevin Feige describes how they found Hemsworth and how he blew everyone away with his portrayal. 'One of the early decisions we made at Marvel Studios was to bring on Thor, and we looked the world over and we found Chris Hemsworth.' An old screen test of Hemsworth as Thor starts playing as Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) compliments Hemsworth on his attitude and the amount of work he puts in. ALSO READ | Hugh Jackman answers if Wolverine features in Robert Downey Jr's Avengers Doomsday, addresses fan theories: 'I will find a cool way to…' Other collaborators, such as actor Tessa Thompson (King Valkyrie) and director Taika Waititi, showered more praise on Chris Hemsworth, with Thompson calling him brave and Waititi recalling working with him in Thor: Ragnarok and how he just wanted the actor to be himself to make the character more relatable. A series of scenes from several movies follow featuring stars like Jaimie Alexander (Sif), Russell Crowe (Zeus), and Christian Bale (Gorr), while Hemsworth recalls the journey he has had while playing this character. The actor captioned the video, 'Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honours of my life. For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable. Next up, Doomsday!' The fans will be eager to see Thor return to previous form after his last outing in Love and Thunder wasn't very well received, just like most MCU films after Endgame.

‘Blindsided' Hugh Jackman believed ex-wife ‘would not trash him to the press' after Deborra-Lee Furness' betrayal talk

Hugh Jackman and his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness are heading towards finalising their divorce after the Australian actor moved to the Suffolk County Supreme Court in New York to file for an uncontested divorce, two years after the couple announced their separation. Post-filing, Furness spoke to the Daily Mail and seemingly confirmed the infidelity rumours surrounding the Wolverine star by talking about trauma and betrayal, stressing that her heart goes out to everyone who has ever dealt with the same situation as hers. Now, according to the same publication, a source close to Jackman revealed that the actor was completely caught off guard and had no idea about the public comments made, subtly shading his relationship with girlfriend Sutton Foster. Also read: 'Traumatic journey of betrayal': Hugh Jackman's wife Deborra-Lee Furness breaks silence on divorce amid cheating rumours A source close to the actor told Daily Mail that the Wolverine star was 'blindsided' and 'extremely disappointed' by Furness's comments made right after ending their three decades of marriage. The source claimed that Jackman strongly believed there was an 'unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press,' and that now he 'knows that he cannot change anything.' Earlier, speaking to the Mail, Deborra-Lee Furness said that she sympathises with all those who 'traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' adding that the difficult time is 'a profound wound that cuts deep.' Though she said she is grateful for her time spent with Jackman, with whom she shares two kids, Oscar and Ava, she added, 'I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working for us.' She added, 'Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.' Also read: Hugh Jackman answers if Wolverine features in Robert Downey Jr's Avengers Doomsday, addresses fan theories: 'I will find a cool way to…' While Furness didn't exactly spill the words that have been circulating on the internet for a while, she dropped subtle clues enough to support theories that Jackman's dating timeline with Foster overlapped with his marriage to Furness. The duo got married in 1996 after meeting for the first time on an Australian reality series in 1995. In 2023, while announcing their separation via a joint statement, they said they 'decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,' calling it a 'wonderful, loving marriage,' and concluded with, 'This is the sole statement either of us will make.' But Furness abruptly broke her silence with another statement, calling her experience a lesson and stating they are all on their individual journeys, believing any kind of relationship that happens in life is not random and that, 'We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognise and heal the broken parts of ourselves.' Jackman, on the other hand, fueled dating rumours with Foster in late 2024 when the friends-turned-lovers were caught by photographers painting the town red with plenty of PDAs. Then, in January 2025, they walked hand in hand, publicly confirming their relationship. The two have known each other since 2008 and were famously known as Broadway buddies. In 2019, they were announced to lead The Music Man. They wrapped up the musical in 2023 and, within a year, both separated from their respective partners, with Sutton calling it quits with screenwriter Ted Griffin ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary. Around the time she divorced her husband, it was reported that she was already in a relationship with Jackman.

Cast of Avengers: Doomsday movie gather for filming in Bahrain

The cast of Marvel 's big-ticket Avengers: Doomsday have been photographed in Bahrain, where filming for the movie is thought to be taking place. Photos of some of the cast shared on social media have offered fans clues about what to expect in the fifth film of the blockbuster Avengers series. Directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on December 18 next year. On Friday, Address Beach Resort hosted a dinner with some of the cast members. The event included Joe Russo, Anthony Mackie (who plays Captain America), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Winston Duke (M'Baku), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Tenoch Huerta (Namor), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), Danny Ramirez (Falcon) and Alex Livinalli (Attuma). While not spotted at the event, the film's ensemble cast is also set to include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) among others. Robert Downey Jr, who famously played Iron Man, will return to the MCU as supervillain Doctor Doom. A full cast is yet to be revealed. "This past weekend, Address Beach Resort Bahrain had the marvelous honour of hosting some of Hollywood's most iconic stars," the resort posted on Instagram on Tuesday. Earlier in the week, fans also shared photos of the cast dining at Sumosan, the Japanese restaurant located within the hotel. While much of the plot remains tightly under wraps, Avengers: Doomsday marks the return of the Russo brothers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The duo have directed four Marvel films, including the record-breaking Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). They will also direct follow-up Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for a December 2027 release. 'When we directed Avengers: Endgame, we really believed it was the end for us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe,' Joe Russo told fans at San Diego Comic-Con last year, when the film's title was announced. 'That four-movie run was incredible, and it left us creatively spent.' But "a very special story" convinced them to come back, he said. "It's the biggest story that Marvel comics ever told. It's the reason that Anthony and I are standing up here.'

Hugh Jackman Has Funny Response When Asked If He Will Return as Wolverine in AVENGERS

Marvel made a big production out of announcing the cast (so far) for their upcoming major event ensemble flick Avengers: Doomsday , but of course, there were names missing from the roster that fans are hoping to see appear sometime in the next year. One of those is Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who we saw make the leap into the MCU in last year's Deadpool & Wolverine . While he obviously can't just come out and say whether he's involved, he is being creative about how he answers questions about whether or not he will appear. During a recent interview on the show The View , he was asked about his rumored casting, and Jackman responded: 'I really can't say much. Except, when you say 'appear,' more like dominate and destroy every other [character]. I'm kidding,' Jackman joked, quipping that the movie 'becomes a one-man show.' 'No, I really have nothing to add,' he added. 'And if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add. So that was uncool. But thanks for asking!' There is still plenty of time to hear who will be included in the film, and if possible, it would be cool if Marvel could pull off a few surprises! But that's unlikely these days. I bet we will hear more info at Comic-Con this July. Avengers: Doomsday is set to open in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. via: CB
