K-P parties unite against mines bill
All major political parties in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, have unanimously rejected the proposed Mines and Minerals Bill. Terming the bill a direct attack on the 18th Constitutional Amendment, provincial autonomy, natural resources, and the authority of the provincial assembly, party leaders warned of strong opposition if the government attempts to pass the legislation. The consensus was reached during an All Parties Conference (APC) organized by the Awami National Party (ANP) at Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar. The meeting was chaired by ANP's provincial President, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, and attended by leaders and representatives of all major political parties in the province. Participants resolved that, if necessary, they would not only pursue legal avenues but also launch public protests to resist the bill. The proposed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Mines and Minerals Bill 2025 was discussed in detail during the APC . Key participants included Maulana Attaur Rehman (Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam), Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha (Pakistan Peoples Party), Bushra Gohar (National Democratic Movement), Ali Asghar Khan, Arbab Sher Ali, and Shakeel Khan (PTI), Professor Ibrahim (Jamaat-e-Islami), Murtaza Javed Abbasi (PML-N), Tariq Ahmed Khan (Qaumi Watan Party), Muhammad Ali (Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party), Adil Mehmood (Mazdoor Kisan Party), Khurshid Khan (Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party), and Barrister Inayatullah (Awami Workers Party). ANP to challenge minerals bill in court
The Awami National Party (ANP) has rejected the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government's Mines and Minerals Bill and announced plans to consult with other political parties to oppose it. Speaking at a press conference held at the Bacha Khan Center on Friday, alongside the party's provincial cabinet, ANP Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the party will challenge the legislation in court and mobilize public support against it. "We will not allow anyone to plunder the resources of our province. The bill amounts to an attack on the 18th Amendment," he said. Senior Vice President Syed Aqil Shah, General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai and other central and provincial leaders were also present on the occasion. Mian Iftikhar said that ANP completely rejects the K-P Minerals and Mines Act 2025. According to reports, the draft of this bill was prepared by two American consultants. He said that a comprehensive law for mines and minerals already exists in K-P since 2017, making a new law unnecessary. He added that the Mines and Minerals Department has raised 73 objections to the proposed bill, while the Mines and Minerals Association has submitted 47 objections. The provincial government had assured to remove these objections, but despite the assurance, the draft prepared without any amendments was approved by the cabinet and presented to the assembly. He said that even the government's own members are unaware of the bill being presented in the assembly. The bill presented by the provincial government is against the 18th Constitutional Amendment, which all political parties had jointly passed to end frustration in the provinces. He said in the past, the denial of provincial autonomy led to the division of Pakistan and the loss of its eastern wing. Constitutionally, the first right and authority over natural resources belongs to the people living on this land.

K-P, Balochistan 'new battleground' in the US-China war
Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Aimal Wali Khan has said that preparations are being made for a new world war between China and America and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan is their battleground once again. We are once again warning the entire nation and state that the players have changed but another war is being planned to kill your and our children. He expressed concern over the ongoing tension in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and said that in the past, when America and Russia were fighting, we had warned that this was not jihad, but chaos. Then our words were not taken seriously, but in return we were accused of being Russian agents. Today, not only our naive nation but the entire world is supporting our stance. Those religious leaders who were sending your children to jihad yesterday, are now calling it as chaos. Pointing to the recent incidents in Balochistan, he said that violence is not the solution to any problem, it only complicates the problems. Wali said that the real power of the people lies in politics, their weapon is to keep the flag of non-violence high. Mutual trust and negotiations are indispensable for a permanent solution to internal problems. The solution to separatist movements is only political. Seriousness should be shown, we feel sad for whoever is martyred, we can feel the pain of the people who are facing difficulties, he added. Demanding steps from the government for peace, Aimal Wali Khan said that peace must be prioritized at all times, which is the only way forward. The problems must be resolved immediately, otherwise the situation may worsen. Transparency should be brought in the policies and they should be discussed in the parliament and the people should be taken into confidence. A clear and effective strategy is needed regarding terrorism and separatist movements. He further said that there should be no place for terrorism in the country and there should be no ambiguity on it.
