Ayeza Khan under fire for 'insensitive' statement
Following the murder of 17-year-old influencer Sana Yousaf, Ayeza Khan joined her fellow celebrities and the internet in speaking out about the issue. However, her priorities didn't quite align with what netizens were expecting from her. Instead of condemning the murder or the perpetrator, Ayeza chose to discuss the repercussions of sharing one's personal life on social media. "Let's all understand the pros and cons of social media, especially when it comes to our security. Keep your addresses, car numbers, regular spots, and children's details private," she wrote. "It's not safe. It's just not safe. Share less. Times have changed," she emphasised. "Recognise that the audience you have today isn't the one you personally chose. It's from all over the world." The Meray Paas Tum Ho actor believes that it is one's own responsibility to guard what they put out in the digital world. "Let's take responsibility for what we share," she said. Adding a prayer, she concluded, "May Allah protect us all and keep us in good company. Ameen." 'Tone deaf much?' Although Ayeza's sentiments stemmed from a place of concern for the detrimental impact of social media on one's life, netizens called out her statement for lacking sensitivity and veering towards victim blaming. "Someone lost their life because some man had a similar toxic ideology as the roles your husband plays in every single drama he stars in, and your main takeaway is 'let's protect ourselves'? Tone deaf much?" an Instagram user questioned. The user didn't mince their words, urging Ayeza to tell her actor-husband Danish Taimoor to stop romanticising toxic masculinity in his drama serials and have empathy for the family who lost their young girl. "You should at least have some form of the humanity that you were preaching a few weeks ago, telling others to not victim blame," the user continued. "You seriously need to check yourself first and then hire a decent PR team because every statement you make is the most ridiculous, tone-deaf, and insensitive thing ever." A different netizen suggested that the Humraaz actor is hypocritical for having an active Instagram account and still putting out such statements. "While your whole life is on your social media account, you still have the guts to shape cold-blooded murder into a lack of self-protection. Please come out of the fancy clothes and glamorous shoots. The victim was not at fault at all. Maybe tell your dear husband to not choose scripts like he does all the time and stop normalising abuse on screens." Other criticism ranged from speaking out against male privilege to hoping to de-platform celebrities who perpetuate harmful ideas that influence the wrong minds. Many argued that the problem is not social media but the entitlement that criminals have to commit such heinous crimes without the fear of being watched or punished. As per the BBC, a 22-year-old man confessed to murdering Sana after being arrested. Authorities believe that Umar Hayat murdered the influencer at her home in Islamabad after she rejected his "offers of friendship". They informed the BBC that he broke into her house, fired two shots, and fled with her phone. Sana's family gathered in Chitral for her burial. Her father, Syed Yousaf Hassan, shared that she was his only daughter a "very brave" one at that. He added that she had never mentioned Umar or reported any threatening behaviour before her life was taken on Monday.

Ayeza Khan nails the effortless airport look
On Saturday, Ayeza Khan gave her Instagram followers a dose of effortless travel style with a carousel captioned: "Just me and my matcha, travel buddies for life! Catch you all at 4PM!" The actor did not drop any further hints about where exactly we should expect her to be except that she mentioned Lahore and very sweetly added, "Same ritual: Dad drops me to the airport, every time." In the photos, Ayeza sports oversized headphones, sipping matcha while checking her phone, standing in the sun with a relaxed air of confidence. In a sheer, white lace top layered over a neutral bralette, charcoal wide-leg trousers, tabi-style shoes, and a crisp white handbag slung across her shoulder, the star demonstrated how to be a showstopper while being entirely laidback. Adding a personal touch, she also posted a shot from the backseat of her dad driving, the two chatting in the front, an endearing father-daughter ritual her followers adored. Fan accounts rushed to the post to admire Ayeza's photos. One wrote, "I just admire this dad and daughter's beautiful bond," while another commented, "The Pakistani entertainment industry is nothing without you." On Sunday, she followed up with another carousel in a similar outfit, humorously captioned: "If someone asked me how to sleep enough, I'd tell them to sleep partially in the car and then partially in the plane," a relatable travel exhaustion post that had fans laughing and commenting. Recently, Ayeza's fashion game has been unmatched. We may be days away from Eidul Azha, but that hasn't stopped the Meray Paas Tum Ho actor from celebrating early. On Thursday, Ayeza shared snaps from a self-declared "Chand Raat" hangout with her siblings, complete with long drives, gol gappay, and gola ganda. Dressed in a flowy, multi-coloured floral dress cinched with a golden belt, and accessorised with matching gold jewelry, Ayeza lit up the night with her signature smile.

Chand Raat arrives early for Ayeza Khan
We may be days away from Eidul Azha, but that doesn't stop Ayeza Khan from celebrating early. In a carousel shared on Instagram on Thursday, the Meray Paas Tum Ho actor headed out for the night for what she dubbed as a premature "Chand Raat" hangout with family. "Having a 'Chand Raat' with my siblings with some long drives, gol gappay (or 'gol gappas' as Hiba likes to call them), and some gola ganda! These are the nights we won't forget!" she wrote in the caption. In the photos, Ayeza wore a multi-coloured dress with wide stripes of floral print. A golden belt clasped the lightweight dress in the middle, allowing the actor to complement the look with matching golden bangles, earrings, and necklaces. Pulling her hair back into a neat bun, she flaunted glossy makeup with a thick underline of kohl. The clicks also featured an appetising serving of gol gappay as Ayeza dug in, as well as the syrup-topped ice shavings of a refreshing gola ganda. While Ayeza posed solo and didn't add shots of her company in the carousel, her joy at having an evening getaway was evident in her bright grins. While the night was all about street food and dressing fancy, the Jaane Jahan actor spent the following morning with the waves of the beach. Framing a yellow dress with a white, collared shirt for this getaway, Ayeza settled in for a picnic on the sand, accompanied by inanimate objects on the mat. This post also showed off aesthetic shots, such as that of a rose tucked between a book's pages as the sun hung in the background. Her caption read, "A nice, warm morning with a little bit of sun and a whole lot of serenity. A barefoot walk on the beach, as the cold water washes over your feet, is a feeling I can't describe. The best things in life truly are free."

Ayeza pursues studies to inspire daughter, fans
In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, Ayeza Khan gave her followers a taste of what it's like having her as a classmate. "Season Two of Ayeza Khan being your classmate," she wrote. "Someone in my class asked me, 'What's the point of studying if you're already Ayeza Khan?'" The Humraaz actor's response was effectively straight-forward, as she took into account all the people she wishes to inspire. "I don't think I study because I'm Ayeza Khan. I study so I can be a role model for my daughter, my fans, and the girls around the world who look up to me." She added, "I want them to see that being Ayeza is just a drop in the ocean compared to the success all you girls are capable of achieving. So never stop learning, and never stop growing." Ayeza's note was attached to a carousel of snippets from her university life in London, inviting her fans in for a glimpse into her journey as an actor who has no plans of quitting her craft anytime soon. In December, the Koi Chand Rakh actor took a step forward in her career by enrolling at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London. Reflecting on the monumental decision through an Instagram post, the 34-year-old actor shared, "When I started acting at the age of 17, I dreamed of studying theatre. However, given the circumstances at that time in my life, this dream kept being pushed further and further away." She continued, "After years of hard work, I was finally able to afford the time and resources to return to school and attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. It felt so refreshing to feel young again." What makes her journey even more inspirational is her acknowledgment of her family's unwavering support. "After all these years of dedication to my career and family, it feels only right to live out the little dreams of little Ayeza," she said, adding, "But none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my mother and father." Their support reminded Ayeza of her childhood, painting a picture of a tight-knit family. "My dad cherished the moments when he could drop me off and pick me up, reliving the memories of my school days when I was young. Meanwhile, back home, my mother's constant care for my children with so much love, patience, and sacrifice ensured that my kids never felt the weight of my absence."

Heartbreak at Attari: Couples separated, kids left behind
Image credit: PTI ATTARI: Cradling her 14-day-old infant, Sara Khan stood at the Attari-Wagah border in her washroom slippers, holding back tears. A resident of PoK, she had been living in India since 2017 after marrying Aurangzeb Khan from J&K. "I had a C-section recently. My stitches haven't healed. Doctors advised me not to travel," Sara said Wednesday as her pleas to stay with her family in J&K, citing her newborn's Indian citizenship, went unanswered. Sara is among dozens of Pak nationals - mostly women married to Indian men - who have been forced to leave India in the wake of a govt directive issued after Pahalgam attack. The directive has triggered scenes of heartbreak, confusion, and uncertainty at Attari. Anjum Tanveer, father of a two-year-old Ayeza, was told his wife Attiya Aslam - a Pak national from Gujranwala - must leave India despite four years of marriage. "She was summoned for verification on April 28, and we were told her visa stands revoked," said Anjum, who will now have to play mother to Ayeza. "Punish the terrorists, yes, but why must innocent families suffer?" Then there's a story of heartbreak for Kashmir's Aamir and Pakistan's Hajra who got married just two days ago. "One day, I brought my wife home with joy, and the next, she was told to leave - it all happened so suddenly," said Aamir.
