Police announce appointment of 5 new state chiefs

PETALING JAYA : Police have announced the appointment of five new state chiefs and transfers of several senior officers effective Aug 18. Police secretary Kamaruzaman Abdullah said the transfers involved Bukit Aman management department deputy director (administration) Azizee Ismail, who was appointed as Penang police chief, with the rank of acting commissioner. He said Kuala Lumpur Police College commandant Shazeli Kahar was appointed as Selangor police chief. Bukit Aman criminal investigations department deputy director (intelligence/operations) Fadil Marsus was appointed as Kuala Lumpur police chief. Kedah deputy police chief Adzli Abu Shah was appointed as the new state police chief. Bukit Aman management department deputy director (service/position) Ab Rahaman Arsad was appointed as Johor police chief. Kamaruzaman said the transfers also affected 18 other senior officers, including Bukit Aman IGP secretariat head of licensing (firearms licence) Nazri Zawawi, who was appointed as Bukit Aman management department deputy director (service/position). In addition, Bukit Aman management department (administration) principal assistant director Sukri Kaman was appointed as the Bukit Aman CID deputy director (intelligence/operations). Sarawak GOF brigade commander Che Ghazali Che Awang has been appointed as the commandant of Kuala Lumpur Police College. Perlis deputy police chief Baderulhisham Baharudin has been appointed as the Kedah deputy police chief. Sarawak Special Branch chief Taufik Toh Abdullah has been appointed as the principal assistant director of E6 at Bukit Aman's Special Branch. In addition, Kamaruzaman said Kuala Lumpur management department chief Suffian Sulaiman has been appointed as the new Terengganu deputy police chief.
