Information minister steps up criticism of PTI

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, said that the August 5, protest had already failed before it even started. She stated that the protest is nothing but a flop show, with even the current PTI leadership, party workers, and their close relatives showing complete disinterest. She remarked, 'Phuppo's dream remained unfulfilled; the nephews are not coming to Pakistan. The former sister-in-law has stopped her children from returning.' She added that when even the Mahatma's own children aren't participating in the protest, how could any so-called revolution succeed? She further noted that Aleema Baji herself had already predicted the protest's failure, and the current PTI leadership does not support the movement either. She strongly criticised the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling the Rs 354 billion corruption in local government institutions a 'public charge sheet.' Funds meant for the welfare of the people, she said, are being misused and squandered. Azma Bokhari highlighted the irony that those who consistently accuse others of corruption have themselves been setting new records of misappropriation for the past 12 years. Speaking on the May 9 incidents, Bokhari labelled them a dark chapter in Pakistan's history. 'Instead of expressing remorse or shame, these people continue to justify those disgraceful events,' she said. She concluded by saying, 'Those who set fire to martyrs' statues are now despised across the nation. Those being disqualified today are, in truth, guilty of a failed rebellion.' Azma heaps praise on COAS

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has said that the Pakistan Army achieved a historic victory through Operation Bunyan Al Marsoos, raising the nation's head high with pride. She stated that the entire world acknowledges the defensive strength and professional excellence of Pakistan's armed forces. Azma Bokhari emphasised that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan dealt a humiliating blow to an adversary five times its size, not only on the battlefield but also diplomatically and strategically. She credited Field Marshal General Asim Munir's brilliant military strategy for forcing India into a ceasefire, which is clear proof of Pakistan's overwhelming military superiority. She added that the invitation extended by the US President to Pakistan's Army Chief for a formal dinner is a matter of great national pride, reflecting the global recognition and respect for Pakistan's military leadership. Azma Bokhari said that Pakistani youth are proudly saluting their brave armed forces on this momentous victory against India. She further said that the founder of PTI is suffering from extreme psychological stress and is now leading a smear campaign against Field Marshal Asim Munir on social media. She said that PTI leadership is spreading false propaganda against state institutions, driven by desperation and political defeat. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025

Punjab minister steps up criticism of PTI founder

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has strongly rejected the PTI founder's recent statements about inadequate jail facilities, calling them completely false and misleading. She stated that the PTI founder is receiving B-Class privileges that most other inmates in the same category do not have access to. Azma Bokhari said that the man who wakes up at noon even on Eid is now shamelessly claiming he's being given dirty water for ablution. With what face is he making such claims?' She further criticised the PTI founder's double standards, saying, 'The same individual who once had others' air conditioners removed is now spreading false propaganda about being denied facilities in jail. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to gain public sympathy and discredit state institutions.' Azma Bokhari questioned the credibility of PTI's political strength, remarking, 'How can a party with no leader at the helm even think of launching a protest movement?' Referring to the ongoing legal proceedings related to May 9, she emphasised that the decisions being made are in accordance with the Constitution and the law. She noted that those involved in anti-state conspiracies have been legally declared as rebels. Addressing the PTI founder's personal conduct, the minister said, 'He sacrificed the children of the nation for his political agenda while ensuring that his own children live safely and luxuriously in the United States.' In conclusion, Azma Bokhari reiterated that the youth of Pakistan is now politically aware and will no longer fall for divisive and deceptive narratives. She affirmed that the government and state institutions will continue to counter every conspiracy strictly within constitutional and legal frameworks. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025

9th May ‘mastermind, coach' cannot escape accountability: Azma

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has released CCTV footage of the incidents that took place on May 9, stating that all facts related to this tragic episode have now come to light. She emphasised that court verdicts in the cases related to the failed uprising of May 9 have started to come through after two years, marking a significant step toward justice. Azma Bokhari stated that the planning behind the events of May 9, including the individuals involved and the locations where these conspiracies were crafted, has been fully exposed. 'The masterminds and executors of these attacks, particularly those who incited violence and set fire to the memorials of our martyrs, are the true enemies of Pakistan,' she said, adding: 'Such individuals do not deserve any leniency.' She further said that the attacks on military installations were carried out with complete planning and coordination, and now no ambiguity remains regarding who was involved and how it happened. According to her, under the directions of the Supreme Court, all trial courts are obligated to deliver verdicts in the May 9 cases within four months. Taking a firm stance, Azma Bokhari declared that the mastermind behind May 9 and his coach cannot and will not escape accountability. She assured that the government will ensure all legal processes are completed with integrity and that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not be forgotten. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
