Gavin and Stacey's Ruth Jones hints at new James Corden series with four-word comment Ruth Jones, who recently scooped a BAFTA for her role in Gavin and Stacey, says the character of Nessa is in her "soul", and she has high hopes for a future collaboration with James Corden Ruth Jones recently picked up a BAFTA for her role on the BBC show (Image:for BAF ) Ruth Jones has shared a four-word comment that suggests there could be a new project with James Corden on the horizon. The Gavin and Stacey star recently scooped a best female performance BAFTA TV Award for her role as Nessa Jenkins in the hugely popular BBC sitcom. Notably, the 58-year-old actress accepted the award for the show's finale episode in her bare feet, having removed her shoes and "settled in" as she didn't think she would win an accolade. Despite the show ending last year, Ruth clearly has a soft spot for Nessa, revealing that the character is in her "soul" and "heart". As for her writing partnership with Gavin and Stacey co-creator James, there could be something new on the way. Ruth revealed that her Gavin and Stacey character is in her "soul" and "heart" (Image:) Ruth told Heat magazine: "I've had a 17-year journey with the character, which is so rare. She's in my soul and in my heart. I've worked with the best people - the cast, crew, production team and James Corden. I love working with James. I hope we can carry on working together." Article continues below When probed further about a possible future collaboration with James, she responded: "I think we will. We both like sitting in a room together. We do a lot of napping, but we do write, as well, when we eventually get going." During her acceptance speech, Ruth channelled the character's style as she exclaimed that winning the award was "immense". She also cracked a joke about a previous 'BAFTA' win. She said: "I weren't expecting to win this – no way. I won a BAFTA before. Of course, I have. In 1976. It was the Barry Arcade Fruity Technician Awards. And I was grateful for that – but this... this is cracking!" She went on to express her gratitude for the cast and crew before sharing her fondness for James, saying she enjoys working with him and how they have a dynamic akin to brother and sister. Ruth Jones hinted at a new project with James Corden (Image: Alan Chapman/) Ruth added that she and James, with whom she has written an upcoming book titled 'When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between: A Story of Love and Friendship', have "such a good laugh together". Article continues below It follows reports that James has been considering a switch from TV to politics and reportedly wishes to succeed Sadiq Khan and run for Mayor of London, writes the Standard. The comedian and TV host, who spent eight years in the US and is now back in the UK, is said to have discussed the possibility during the BAFTAs. According to the publication, the 46-year-old opened up about his interest in politics to Beth Rigby, the political editor of Sky News, Harriet Harman, and Ruth Davidson. Speaking to the Mail, an onlooker claimed James told them that he enjoys the "cut and thrust" of politics, and it was suggested that he should "step into the political arena".

Since then, the Strictly Come Dancing professional has been gearing up for a new dance project, the 'Red Hot and Ready' tour, with another familiar face from the beloved BBC competition. Set to launch next month, Dianne said she's "so excited" about the show, which has been "two years in the making." To cap things off, she's also shared insights into the dynamic she has with her co-star on the tour, Vito Coppola. (Image: BBC) Dianne told Heat magazine: "There's things in there that you'd never see us do on Strictly, I'll put it that way! It's an emotional rollercoaster. We want people to laugh and cry with us." (sic) She continued: "From day one, Vito and I just clicked. He reminded me a lot of my Italian mum's family with his personality, his mindset and the things he would say. He could literally be my crazy cousin!" Dianne added that it was a "no-brainer" for them to embark on this project together, highlighting the "camaraderie" they share. However, it isn't the only new gig for the dancer, as Dianne has also returned to Australia to work on the kids' show Bluey. Dianne is now part of the new Bluey Dancealongs on the show's YouTube channel. In her role, she choreographed and appeared in five dance videos for the series featuring young fans of the animated show. (Image: Getty Images for BAFTA) Dianne said: "How cool that I got to go to Bluey's World in Australia to dance in Bluey's house with some incredibly talented kids dancing to some of Bluey's favourite tunes." She added that she loves Bluey's "message" to both children and adults alike, saying she "can't wait" to see people attempting the dance moves and "joining in the party". Dianne first appeared on Strictly with Reverend Richard Coles in 2017, but sadly left the competition in week three. However, she reached the final with Joe Sugg (whom she's currently dating) the following year. Her career has seen her appear on So You Think You Can Dance Australia and Dancing with the Stars Australia. According to the BBC, she's also an Australian Open Champion and has been an Amateur Australian Open finalist four times in Ballroom and Latin dancing. Her other former celebrity dance partners included DJ Dev Griffin, Max George, Robert Webb, Tyler West, and Bobby Brazier. After that, she was teamed up with Chris McCausland, the show's first-ever blind contestant.
