THE CANADIAN PRESS/Darryl Dyck Nobody was seriously hurt after an RCMP vehicle and an SUV crashed in Surrey's Cloverdale area Sunday night, according to authorities. An officer with the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit was responding to an emergency call just before 8:30 p.m. when an SUV crashed into the vehicle at the intersection of 176 Street and 64 Avenue, police said. 'The occupants of the SUV, two adults and a small child, were taken to hospital by (B.C. Emergency Health Services) and examined by medical staff and it was determined that they had no injuries,' the Surrey Police Service wrote in a news release Monday. 'The RCMP officer was taken to hospital, examined, and later released with minor injuries.' The SPOSU's major crime MVI unit and the integrated collision analysis and reconstruction service were called in to investigate and the intersection was closed for several hours as a result. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined. Police asked anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash camera video to call 604-599-0502.

(CTV News) One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Maple Ridge in the early morning hours of Friday. The incident occurred shortly before 3:05 a.m. at the intersection of 240 Street and Lougheed Highway, according to a news release from the Ridge Meadows RCMP. Police arrived to find firefighters and paramedics already on scene, Mounties said, adding that the Ridge Meadows RCMP Serious Crimes Unit and the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team were called out to investigate. B.C. Emergency Health Services told CTV News it dispatched one ambulance with primary care paramedics, one ambulance with advanced care paramedics and one paramedic supervisor to the scene. No patients were transported to hospital. Lougheed Highway was closed in both directions as a result of the crash, but one lane had reopened westbound between Jim Robson Way and 240 Street by 9:30 a.m., police said. The eastbound lanes were expected to remain closed for several hours. Police said their investigation is 'active and ongoing,' and asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam or surveillance video from the area to call the Ridge Meadows detachment at 604-463-6251. 'If you were a witness at this scene and have been affected in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Ridge Meadows RCMP Victim Services program at 604-467-7650,' the detachment added.

Three people were taken to the hospital on Wednesday after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair, trapping her under the vehicle. The incident happened in the parking lot outside the London Drugs at Lonsdale Avenue and 20th Street East. BC Emergency Health Services said one of the people transported to the hospital was in serious but stable condition. 'I was scared, because all of a sudden, Maggie started screaming,' James Willett said. 'So I rushed up and I just tried to see what I could do, which I can't help that much, so I got on the phone right away to 911.' The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has not released any details about the incident, but a spokesperson confirmed Friday that information would be released about the investigation shortly. The police watchdog investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death in B.C., whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing by police. Under the provincial Police Act, 'serious harm' is defined as an injury that may result in death, disfigurement or loss of function of a limb or organ. The Agassiz RCMP and the B.C. Emergency Health Services have not responded to requests for information about the incident. This story will be updated as responses are received. Video reviewed by CTV News showed multiple RCMP vehicles outside a home on the Agassiz-Rosedale Highway Thursday night, with a section of the highway behind police tape. This is a developing story. BUICK, B.C. — There were no reported injuries after an early morning crash involving a truck and school bus in Buick. BC Emergency Health Services says paramedics were called to an incident at 7:23 a.m. on Thursday, June 12th in the area of Beatton Airport Road and Otto Avenue. A dump truck and a school bus had apparently collided, with the truck being rolled onto its side off the road, according to eyewitness accounts of the incident on Facebook . Paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites says two ambulances responded to the scene and there were 'no patients requiring hospital transport.' RCMP North District media relations officer Madonna Saunderson confirmed to a school bus was involved in the crash, with Fort St. John RCMP officers dispatched to the scene at 7:15 a.m. However, Saunderson said more details would be released when they become available.
