No headway yet in probe into firing at Elvish Yadav's home
Gurgaon: Two days after unidentified men fired over two dozen bullets at the Sector 57 house of social media influencer Elvish Yadav, police are yet to identify the shooters. YouTuber and Big Boss winner Prince Narula, who recently had a major fallout with Elvish Yadav and was his fellow judge in Roadies XX, has criticised the firing incident at Yadav's house. Elvish's father, Ram Avtar Yadav, speaking to the media, said that Narula should also be interrogated, as he had a dispute with his son and also threatened him. Bike-borne men fire 2 dozen rounds at Elvish's house
Gurgaon: Bike-borne assailants fired over two dozen rounds at YouTuber Elvish Yadav's house in Sector 57 early on Sunday. CCTV footage showed two men discharging their weapons at the three-storey house and unleashing a barrage of gunfire as a third accomplice waited on a bike around 5.30am. Elvish, police said, is out of town on an assignment. Some of his family members and a caretaker were inside the house during the attack, but they escaped unhurt. The house, however, bore the brunt of the gunfire, with bullet holes and shattered glass visible on the ground and first floors, and its walls. The Himanshu Bhau gang claimed responsibility for the attack, accusing Elvish of promoting betting apps that they alleged had "ruined many households". "The firing that took place today at Elvish Yadav's house was done by Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. With this, today we have introduced ourselves... He (Elvish) has ruined many homes by promoting betting…," the gang's social media post read. An FIR was registered for attempt to murder and under relevant provisions of the Arms Act at Sector 56 police station. "We are investigating the case thoroughly. Teams have been formed to identify the accused. CCTV footage from cameras installed in the house is also being examined," an officer said. Elvish's father, Ramavtar Yadav, expressed disbelief over the sudden attack. "We don't have a rivalry with anyone, nor did we receive any threatening calls or messages. I was sleeping when the incident occurred," he said. This attack comes on the heels of a similar incident involving Haryanvi rapper Rahul Yadav alias Fazilpuria. On July 14, Fazilpuria narrowly escaped an attack when unidentified assailants fired at his car near Sector 71 on Southern Peripheral Road. The attack was linked to a financial dispute, with gangster Sunil Sardhania — believed to be a member of the Himanshu Bhau gang — claiming it was over a Rs 5-crore loan. Police have made a few arrests in connection with the firing, including Ramandeep alias Petrol, who was apprehended after a gunfight in Manesar earlier this month. In early Aug, property dealer Rohit Shokeen, alleged to have ties with Fazilpuria, was shot dead near Kherki Daula toll plaza. Two assailants on a motorcycle, posing as delivery agents, opened fire on him on the busy Southern Peripheral Road. Shokeen suffered multiple bullet wounds and died before he could be wheeled into a hospital. Sardhania again claimed responsibility for the killing, issuing a threat to Fazilpuria. "Pay our money or more people will die," a post read. Elvish (27) shot to fame with his YouTube videos and after winning Bigg Boss in 2023. Many of his videos have garnered millions of views online. The YouTuber has his share of controversies too. He was arrested by cops in Noida last year for allegedly facilitating the supply of snake venom to make opioids at rave parties. Elvish, however, secured bail in the case. Fellow YouTuber Maxtern also accused Elvish of physical assault and an attempt to murder him last year. Although he lodged a police complaint against Elvish, Maxtern later withdrew it. The two later announced they had made peace with each other. The one-minute clip shows three masked men arriving outside Elvish Yadav's house on a bike around 5:30 am. A few minutes later, two of them began raining bullets at the YouTuber's house. They then took a pause - for what supposedly looked like for loading their guns, and continued to shoot at the residence. One of the shooters even stood on the main gate and opened fire. According to the police, he had gone outside Haryana for some work. However, the caretaker of the house and some family members were inside, but no one was injured. Hours after the incident, the notorious Himanshu Bhau gang took responsibility for the firing in a social media post, accusing the YouTuber of promoting gambling. The post featured two gun illustrations and the text 'BHAU GANG SINCE 2020'. The gang is reportedly led by Portugal-based fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau. "Today, the bullets that were fired at Elvish Yadav's house were fired by us, Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. Today, we have introduced ourselves to him. Mr Yadav's father, who was inside the house at the time of the firing, said they were sleeping when they heard the shots being fired. "We heard a sound around 5.30 in the morning. When we came outside and looked, we saw that bullets had been fired. Then we immediately checked the CCTV. We found that there were two people involved for sure, and probably a third one too. We informed the police," Ram Avtar Yadav said. Mr Yadav's father added that he was not aware of his son being involved in any gambling promotion and that he had not received any threat. Mr Yadav has not yet filed a police complaint, officials said.
