British School of Bahrain's new senior school campus to open in 2026
The British School of Bahrain (BSB) has announced the development of a purpose-built Senior School campus, set to open for the 2026/2027 academic year. Located just a short walk from the current site and adjacent to the Al Liwan Commercial Centre, the new campus represents a major step forward in BSB's commitment to future-focused education. The launch comes as the school celebrates 30 years of delivering premium British education in Bahrain. In collaboration with Global Education consultants and leading architectural firm MSCEB, the campus has been designed to educate students from Year 10 through to Year 13. This next-generation facility will feature thoughtfully designed classrooms to support a range of learning styles, purpose-built study areas for independent and collaborative learning, and cutting-edge technology including the integration of Inspired AI, Inspired Education's pioneering artificial intelligence platform to boost learning outcomes. Students will also benefit from exceptional extra-curricular and performance facilities, including a FIFA-standard football pitch, athletics track, multi-purpose sports hall, an 8-lane indoor swimming pool, and an acoustically engineered 800 sqm auditorium with seating for over 500 guests. Nadim M. Nsouli, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Inspired Education, commented: 'The new BSB campus aligns with Inspired's vision of providing its students with a premium education in state-of the-art-facilities demonstrating our commitment to excellence in academics, sports and the creative and performing arts.' 'This is more than a new building. It is a meaningful investment in the future of our students,' said Executive Headteacher Liz Stanley. 'As we celebrate three decades of shaping young minds, this next chapter enables us to reimagine what senior education can be. We are creating an environment that inspires ambition, encourages independence, and equips every student to thrive in an ever-changing world.' With the relocation of Years 10–13 to the new Senior School, the original campus will become a dedicated centre for students from Nursery through to Year 9. This transformation allows the school to reimagine their original campus into a vast, state-of-the-art learning environment tailored specifically for younger students, with age-appropriate innovation, care, and creativity at its heart. This will create one of the most advanced Junior and Middle School campuses in the country, a nurturing and inspiring environment where children can develop curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Frustration as CBA system goes down
Hundreds of CBA customers were unable to transfer money between accounts or pay people using their NetBank or CommBank app for several hours on Friday. The issue affected transfers from CommBank accounts and took several hours before the services were restored about 2pm. Customers who tried to transfer money between their account or pay people using PayID or BSB and an account number from the app received an error message, 'Something's gone wrong. Try again a little later.' Payments made at an ATM through the outage were unaffected. An update on the bank's website said the issue affecting some transfers had now been fixed. 'We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience,' the statement said. More than 400 customers reported a problem with fund transfers and online banking on Down Detector. Frustrated customers commented it was the second time the outage had occurred in the past month. 'Transfers are down again,' one person commented. 'Transferring funds doesn't work and sending doesn't work and the question bot (is) down,' another person said. 'Second time in about a month Commonwealth Bank has gone down,' a person said. Megan Young and Mikael Daez sing Backstreet Boys song as lullaby for newborn
Megan Young and Mikael Daez are only a week old into their new roles as parents but it seems the Kapuso couple know exactly what to do — with their makeshift knowledge. On Instagram, Mikael posted a video of the two of them soothing their newborn with the Backstreet Boys song "I Want It That Way." Mikael was holding the baby, and Megan was gamely singing and dancing along and when they finished, the new dad told their baby, "that is what you call beautiful singing." "Vintage music," Megan piped in. "You're millennials but forgot all the usual lullabies," Mikael wrote in the video as he added in the caption, "kanya-kanyang diskarte para mapatahan ang baby." According to Mikael, at just a few days, they're just trying to figure out what works for their baby boy. "Instinctively napunta sa BSB bigla ang lullaby repertoire ko, si Bonez papuntang Doechii, sa tingin ko," he added. Megan and Mikael announced the birth of their firstborn last Wednesday. They tied the knot in 2020 in intimate ceremonies and in December 2024, announced they were expecting their first child, a baby boy. — LA, GMA Integrated News
