BTS — the record-breaking, chart-topping K-pop group — has announced plans for their long awaited return. The seven-member group, in their first group broadcast in nearly three years, took to the Hybe-owned Weverse fan platform for a livestream Tuesday, where they laid out the plan for their post-military enlistment future. BTS told fans that they're all heading to the U.S. this month to begin working on new music that is currently slated for a spring 2026 release. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member's thoughts and ideas,' the group said in a statement. 'We're approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.' The supergroup also announced plans for a world tour next year, their first since their wildly successful post-pandemic string of shows, BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage, which drew 4 million attendees and viewers across in-person concerts, online livestreaming, live viewing and live play, according to a release. 'We'll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you're as excited as we are,' the group said. Until 2026, BTS members are seemingly continuing previously planned solo work, including eldest member Jin's solo tour, which was just held in Goyang, South Korea, on June 28 and June 29. J-Hope, who recently wrapped his own solo tour, is slated to headline Lollapalooza Berlin later this month. All members of BTS reunited for the first time since 2022 last month at J-Hope's solo concert finale in Goyang, South Korea. The reunion marked the end of a busy week for the group as members RM, V, Jimin and Jung Kook were discharged from their mandatory military service earlier that week, joining already released J-Hope and Jin. Suga completed his mandatory military service as social work personnel that following week, signaling the official return-to-active status for the group. BTS fans have long awaited their return, although each member of the group found success with their solo work released throughout the two-year enlistment period. In October 2022, BTS performed a massive free concert, titled Yet to Come, in Busan, South Korea. The concert, which was in support of the Korean city's bid for the 2030 World Expo, brought legions of ARMY from around the world. Days after the performance, BigHit Music announced that all seven members would be moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service, saying it was 'the perfect time' and that the group's members were honored to serve. BTS' Tuesday livestream, their first since September 2022, bagged over 7.3 million real-time total views, according to a release. Exact release or tour dates have yet to be announced. For those unfamiliar with the trend, it is called "aura farming challenge", and features a little boy standing on the edge of a boat, doing his little dances, as the boat was rowed in full speed. BTS' V's FRI(END)S gets featured in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3, fans say it 'fits so perfectly'

K-pop groups like BTS have achieved international acclaim, proving that the genre's appeal extends well beyond South Korea's borders. Celebrities worldwide have acknowledged the significant influence wielded by the South Korean stars. A recent illustration of BTS's global impact is the inclusion of V's solo song FRI(END)S in Season 3 of the popular Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty. BTS' V's FRI(END)S gets played in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 The popular American teen romance drama dropped the first two episodes of its season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty on July 16. Viewers of the show who are also fans of BTS swiftly identified a familiar tune in the third instalment's first episode. It was none other than the K-pop boy band member V 's hit single FRI(END)S. The song was played during an intimate scene between Steven (Sean Kaufman) and Taylor (Rain Spencer). Check out fan reactions to V's FRI(END)S being included in The Summer I Turned Pretty The use of the song in the particular scene just felt right as the characters Steven and Taylor went through a lot to finally transition from friends to lovers, which echoes the theme of Kim Taehyung's FRI(END)S. The R&B song delves into the complexities of a relationship wobbling between friendship and something more romantic. Due to this, fans felt that the song "fits so perfectly" in The Summer I Turned Pretty's scene. "This scene with FRI(END)S by #V as bgm! It's like they were made for each other. The perfect match," an X-user wrote. V's fans were also happy at his songs getting global recognition. Some fans criticized HYBE LABELS, the company behind BTS, for their lack of acknowledgement of this impressive feat of V. Since it's "not an everyday occurance", the label should have hyped it enough, they felt. However, they believe that BTS ARMY will do their part and promote the achivement of the artist. "thank goodness he has such an amazing and dedicated fandom supporting him! Let's get busy," a fan wrote. This further underscored the enduring love and that V enjoys from his loyal fanbase.

'Chaotic live': BTS' V left disheartened by fans' silent treatment, gets cheered up by Jimin's sheer top

BTS is back with their entertaining group livestreams, recapturing the vibes of their pre-military era. Amid the utter chaos dominating their July 15 lives, the camaraderie among the members seems unchanged. Among the most hilarious moments of the broadcast was V's concern over perceived silent treatment from fans, which saddened him. However, his mood quickly shifted when Jimin's goofy moment had him in splits. BTS' V thinks fans ignored him during live broadcast During Kim Taehyung aka V's short July 14 Weverse live, fans demanded him to hold one on Instagram as well. He kept his word and went live on the app on July 15, however, not being very well-versed with the technicalities of it, faced trouble in communicating with fans. The BTS member waited for some time to read fan comments and reply to them, however, to his surprise, nobody wrote anything. Due to that, V looked visibly sad and stated, "I apologize but, could you perhaps leave even just one comment?" It made fans crack up because it was his account's privacy setting that did not allow fans to drop comments during the live. The Winter Bear singer, not being aware of the issue, thought that BTS ARMY was giving him silent treatment, leading him to end the live. After V's failed solo livestream, he held the next one with his fellow members. RM, J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook made occasional appearances in the broadcast, thrilling fans. The live's most memorable moment came when Jimin, while browsing through V's clothes, found a sheer top and decided to wear it. Seeing him in the exposing fit caused the V and RM to burst out laughing. Jimin's silly moment erased V's previous disheartenment in an instant. Thus the livestream brought back the group's classic chemistry and playful vibe, which the fans missed for a long time. Omg my heart is soo full right now I really missed theirs chaotic live," remarked a fan, expressing their joy.
