Chappell Roan will 'quit' music if she cannot stand up for 'villain' reputation
Chappell Roan has warned she will "quit" music if she cannot defend herself amid her so-called "villain" reputation. The 27-year-old singer believes she and other musicians should be allowed to talk openly about setting fan boundaries without being labelled "a villain or ungrateful", and the star confessed she is in danger of becoming "agoraphobic" or "so stressed out" if she doesn't speak up. Speaking on the 'Outlaws' podcast, she said: "When I started to say 'Don't talk to me like that'... that doesn't mean I'm a villain or I'm ungrateful for what I have. "It's like, why is this customary? It's so... abusive. 'I thought it was really interesting reading something about how there's so much love in apologies for people like Britney [Spears] and Paris [Hilton] and how people were so evil to them and as a community we need to apologise to them. "Absolutely, but also... that behaviour is still... people are still doing it. "Do you want me to just get to the point where I become agoraphobic? Or so stressed out, or so anxious to perform? You want me to get to that point? "Because if I don't say anything, I will. "If I do not stand up for myself, I will quit because I cannot bear this. I cannot bear people touching me who I don't know. I cannot bear people following me." The 'Good Luck, Babe!' hitmaker also warned that if she is unable to "protect who I am" she will have to quit music, or she will become "so severely depressed" she ends up in hospital. Chappell said: "I cannot bear people saying I'm something I'm not. That's what's really hard online. People just assume you're the villain. "I can't do this if I'm not trying to protect who I am. "Otherwise, I will either quit or just be so severely depressed that I have to go back to the hospital." Chappell previously voiced her fears about being a celebrity in a candid interview with The Face magazine. She said: "I feel like fame is just abusive. The vibe of this - stalking, talking s*** online, [people who] won't leave you alone, yelling at you in public – is the vibe of an abusive ex-husband. "That's what it feels like. I didn't know it would feel this bad."

Chappell Roan says her fashion sense is 'like a Halloween' costume
Chappell Roan says her fashion sense is "like a Halloween" costume. The 27-year-old pop star admitted that she is not really a fan of the spooky October holiday per se but when it comes to her signature looks - which include a white painted face, bright orange hair and an array of extravagant outfits - she can definitely see the correlation. She told W Magazine: "I am not a Halloween girl. My favorite Halloween costumes I admire from afar, because I'm always the bitch who has the cat ears on and that's it. My work outfit is like Halloween! But when I was a child, I was a red M+M for three years in a row." The 'Good Luck, Babe!' hitmaker has seen "so many" of her fans dress up as her over the course of the last six months and is thrilled that her audience is now expanding to include children as well as adults. She said: " I've seen so many baby Chappell Roans. There's so many different outfits to choose from! That is something new in the past six months—the audience is growing to include children, and it's so cute. 'Hot to Go!' taught them how to spell and dance." Meanwhile, the Grammy Award-wnning star recently attended Paris Fashion Week and was surprised at just how short individual show is and embraced having the chance to explore different looks throughout. She said: "I don't know why I expected every show to be two hours long, but they are literally nine minutes, 12 minutes. It was kind of refreshing. I was in the makeup chair for the entirety of Paris Fashion Week—it was so crazy: changing looks, changing wigs, go, go, go. I didn't realize that this was a dream I always had. But it was very interesting for my psyche, because when I walked into a fashion show, it had nothing to do with a performance I was about to give, or a speech, or writing a song. It was truly just about how I looked. I don't know if I want to feel that way all the time, but I thought it was incredible to wear these outfits. The Valentino, in particular, was so gorgeous. It was amazing."

Chappell Roan opens up about struggles before pop stardom
The pop star had to endure a number of menial jobs before her career took off. Photo / Getty Images Chappell Roan was 'in hell for a very long time' before she found fame. The 27-year-old pop star has had major success with hits like Good Luck, Babe! and Pink Pony Club amongst a host of others and recalled that just before her career took off, she had to endure a number of menial jobs, but always knew she was a 'really good' performer, so found the drive to succeed. She told W Magazine: 'Whenever I was working at my part-time jobs, like nannying or the drive-through or doughnut shop, I kept hope alive because I knew I was really good. I knew I had to just give it one more year. And I got that courage by, honestly, just being in hell for a very long time. I was like, this sucks so bad, but keep going. Every day, I would think, Keep going, even if there was no sight of any light at the end of the tunnel. Zero! 'But I was like, what if it's just around the corner? What if I stopped the day before that something is meant to happen? So I just kept going, and here we are.'

Singer Chappell Roan calls guinea pigs her joy during tough times
Singer-songwriter Chappell Roan has revealed an adorable and unexpected passion—she's head over heels for guinea pigs. The 27-year-old pop sensation, known for her hits like Pink Pony Club and Good Luck, Babe!, opened up about her love for rodents during a chat on the Las Culturistas podcast, proudly declaring herself a 'guinea pig girl.' Roan didn't just keep guinea pigs as pets; at one point, she cared for four of them and even volunteered at a rescue shelter. 'I'm really glad that guinea pigs have their own culture online because I'm a guinea pig girl. I'm just obsessed with them,' she shared. 'I had four at a time but they passed away. I think they're the cutest animals on earth. I volunteered at a guinea pig rescue for a year. I love rodents in general and the guinea pig community online is awesome.' Her passion for the creatures predates her rise to stardom. Back in 2018, she adopted her furry friends from LA Guinea Pig Rescue and even featured them in a music video. Reflecting on that time in an Instagram post during the COVID-19 pandemic, Roan shared that she initially adopted a guinea pig for comfort and nostalgia, remembering the one she had loved during fourth grade. Though she didn't anticipate becoming a multi-pig owner, she found immense happiness in caring for them. 'I did not ever think I would have four, but here we are. It brings me so much joy taking care of them, especially in quarantine. They make me laugh every single day because they're such tiny animals with big personalities.' She also used her platform to advocate for pet adoption, urging fans to consider shelters instead of pet stores. 'They're definitely not low-maintenance pets, but I love them and they are precious to me,' she concluded, even naming her late pets—Sonic, Honeydew, Gogo, and Nadine—with affectionate detail.
