CAIRO/DAKAR, July 25 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty presented Friday a replica of the mummy and coffin of King Tutankhamun to the Museum of Black Civilizations in Senegal's Dakar. Abdelatty presented the gift during a ceremony to commemorating the 65th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Egypt and Senegal, in the presence of Senegal's Minister for Youth, Sports and Culture, Khady Diène Gaye. In his remarks at the event, Abdelatty applauded the robust historical ties between Egypt and Senegal, describing the gift as an expression of mutual appreciation and shared commitment to promoting cultural and cross-civilization exchange between the peoples of Africa. He added that this is achieved through continuous coordination with Egyptian diplomatic and consular missions, as well as relevant authorities within Egypt. Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Egyptian community in Mali, at the beginning of his visit to Bamako, as part of his tour across several West African countries. Abdelatty expressed appreciation for the Egyptian community in Mali, praising their valuable contributions to Malian society and their constructive role in strengthening the ties between Egypt and Mali across various sectors. He outlined the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration to upgrade consular services for Egyptians abroad, particularly through digitizing procedures. He also reviewed the initiatives launched by the ministry to serve Egyptians abroad, including offering privileges for getting housing units and agricultural lands as well as for joining Egyptian universities. Abdelatty also listened to the comments and inquiries of the community members, assuring them that all their concerns and requests would be given due attention in line with the ministry's commitment to addressing the needs of Egyptian expats. CAIRO/BAMAKO, July 24 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty affirmed that the Egyptian economy—being one of the largest economies in the African continent—possesses promising investment opportunities and extensive cumulative expertise in implementing strategic projects in sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, energy, dams, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications. He also highlighted the significant progress Egypt has achieved in both industrial and service sectors. Abdelatty's remarks came while inaugurating the Egypt-Mali Business Forum on Thursday in Mali's capital, Bamako. A high-level Egyptian delegation of 30 business leaders, CEOs, and representatives of major Egyptian companies across various fields participated in the forum. In his opening speech, Abdelatty said the forum marks a new and important milestone in strengthening economic and trade partnerships between Egypt and Mali. He emphasized that it opens unprecedented opportunities for the private sectors in both countries to develop partnerships based on integration and trust, in line with the depth of historical ties and the economic potential of both nations. The foreign minister stressed that Egypt-Mali relations are currently witnessing unprecedented momentum and that the forum serves as a significant starting point for boosting trade exchange, encouraging industrial and investment partnerships, and enhancing cooperation between the business communities of both countries. He described the forum as a practical first step toward strengthening institutional cooperation. He pointed out to joint efforts that have led to the formation of an economic working group, as well as ongoing efforts to establish an Egypt-Mali Business Council to activate cooperation opportunities across various sectors. He expressed Egypt's sincere desire to expand its investments in the Republic of Mali, especially in sectors prioritized by the Malian government, such as textiles, wood products, and pharmaceuticals. For his part, Mali's Minister of Industry and Trade Moussa Alassane Diallo emphasized the special importance that the Malian government places on enhancing cooperation with Egypt. He praised Egypt's vast expertise in supporting development across Africa. He also expressed Mali's aspiration to benefit from Egypt's pioneering experience in several key sectors. In his speech, Abdelatty said this industrial project is an important step towards enhancing Egypt's economic activity in Africa and reflects the Egyptian State's commitment to fostering cooperation with African nations in various fields, particularly in the areas of manufacturing and technology transfer. The top Egyptian diplomat added the project embodies Egypt's strategy for achieving shared development with its African partners, citing the country's keenness to increase Egyptian investments abroad, especially in Africa. He stated the factory will provide high-quality electrical products at competitive prices for both local and regional markets, in addition to facilitating the transfer of the Egyptian industrial expertise. Egyptian FM Abdelatty concludes West Africa tour in Senegal - Foreign Affairs

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty headed on Thursday to Senegal, the fifth and final stop on his West African tour. Minister Abdelatty is scheduled to hold official talks with senior Senegalese officials and meet with representatives from both the government and the private sector, according to a foreign ministry statement. Discussions will focus on deepening bilateral cooperation in the economy, investment, and infrastructure, as well as exploring opportunities for Senegal to benefit from Egyptian expertise in training and capacity building. The visit will also address joint coordination on pressing regional issues, particularly security in the Sahel region and counter-terrorism efforts, the statement noted. Additionally, the ministers will discuss mechanisms to bolster joint African action within the framework of the African Union and other relevant regional organizations. The visit follows Abdelatty's stop in Mali, the fourth leg of his tour, which has also included Niger, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso.
