'Fake arena': Ahead of Maharashtra civic polls, UBT strongman Chandrahar Patil joins Shinde camp
THANE: Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde took a pointed jab at the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction on Monday, referring to it as a 'fake arena' and reminded his supporters how he floored his political rivals during the 2022 rebellion. Shinde was speaking late Monday at an induction event in Thane, where two-time Maharashtra Kesari winner and prominent UBT leader Chandrahar Patil from Western Maharashtra joined the Shiv Sena along with several supporters from western Maharashtra. The defection comes ahead of key municipal elections, adding to the list of high-profile exits from the UBT camp. 'Today, you've stepped out of a fake arena and into the real one. You've left behind the company of the cunning for that of the sincere,' Shinde told Patil. 'Though I am not a wrestler, in 2022 I floored my opponents so thoroughly that they still haven't got back on their feet,' he added, in a veiled reference to the UBT leadership. Recalling the period following his rebellion, Shinde said, 'I was targeted with daily accusations and insults. But instead of retaliating with words, I responded through action. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! He emphasised that the Sena under his leadership remains committed to the ideals of Balasaheb Thackeray. 'This is not a party of mockery and arrogance. It's a party built by and for grassroots workers. Balasaheb treated his colleagues as equals, but after him, some began treating workers like subordinates. They forgot that pride doesn't last forever.'

"Balasaheb would've thanked PM Modi, army for Operation Sindoor": Shehzad Poonawalla slams opposition
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 27 (ANI): BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla launched a strong attack on the Opposition on Tuesday, claiming that the late Balasaheb Thackeray would have praised armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Operation Sindoor. While speaking to ANI in Delhi, Poonawalla said, 'If Balasaheb Thackeray had been here, he would not only have thanked the armed forces but also PM Modi for the success of Operation Sindoor. A new normal has been established. It was for the first time that terror hotspots were destroyed and terrorists were killed by entering a nuclear country.' He criticised the Shiv Sena (UBT), saying, 'Those who do politics in the name of Balasaheb Thackeray behave like Pakistani rangers. Now, they call this diplomatic strike to unravel Pakistan's face, a tour and travel...' Shehzad Poonawalla made his remarks after Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Centre's plan to send all-party delegations abroad to promote India's stand against cross-border terrorism and Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, commenting on Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's remarks, Poonawalla said, 'Definitely the last 11 years would not have been less than a nightmare for Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh. It is not less than a nightmare for those who support terrorism, corruption, dynasty and appeasement. But the nation has seen how we have established a new normal in the last 11 years...' Earlier, on Monday, addressing a public gathering in Maharashtra's Nanded district, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Operation Sindoor has sent a message to the whole world that no one should trouble the Indian army, its people, or its border; otherwise, they will have to face the consequences. Speaking about the all-party delegation that is visiting multiple countries across the world to put forward India's position against terrorism, Shah mentioned that the diplomatic effort will 'unmask Pakistan's face of terrorism.' 'After Operation Sindoor, PM Modi decided that it is the nation's matter. So, the all-party delegation of MPs will visit different countries and unmask Pakistan's face of terrorism. Then, all-party delegations were formed,' he said. While also hitting out at Shiv Sena (UBT), he mentioned that while its leaders criticised the delegation, the founder of the party, Balasaheb Thackeray, would have praised the delegation. He said, 'Then, all-party delegations were formed. Later, a top leader of Shiv Sena (UBT) commented on the delegation and said, 'Yeh kiski baraat jaa rahi hai?' Shiv Sena (UBT) used to be the party of Balasaheb Thackeray. If Balasaheb had been here, he would have appreciated PM Modi for Operation Sindoor.' While also taking a jibe at Congress, Shah added that the Narendra Modi-led government has replied with multiple strikes on Pakistan, with the most recent being Operation Sindoor. (ANI)

'They landed in hell after abandoning Hindutva': Shinde mocks Uddhav, Shiv Sena (UBT)
THANE: In a swipe at Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena ahead of the launch of a book authored by party MP Sanjay Raut, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has accused the rival faction of abandoning the Hindutva ideology of the late Bal Thackeray for power. Raut's book "Narkatla Swarg" (Heaven in Hell) will be unveiled in Mumbai on Saturday evening. "Had they remained loyal to the ideals of Balasaheb Thackeray, they wouldn't have fallen into hell and reduced to a position today where they are now searching for heaven," Shinde told reporters in Thane on Friday night. He said Balasaheb Thackeray was firmly rooted in the Hindutva ideology and had immense respect for leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. "Balasaheb had recognised their commitment and work for Gujarat and the nation. His foresight identified them as the rightful torch-bearers of Hindutva," he added. Without naming Uddhav Thackeray, he said the individuals who have now aligned with the Congress and abandoned the ideals of Balasaheb will never understand the reasons behind his decisions. "They have strayed far from his legacy," he said. Shinde's rebellion in 2022 split the undivided Shiv Sena, forcing Thackeray to resign as the chief minister.
