"Assistive Devices Worth ₹21.27 Lakhs Distributed to 93 Differently-Abled Persons in Gadwal".
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santhosh emphasized that differently-abled individuals should fully utilize the welfare schemes provided by the Central and State Governments. He stated that inclusive development and empowerment of every individual with disabilities is a key priority of the government. On Friday, a distribution event was held at the IDOC meeting hall under the aegis of the Department of Women, Child, Senior Citizens, and Differently-Abled Welfare, in collaboration with the Central Government. As part of the initiative, 114 high-tech assistive devices worth ₹21.27 lakhs were distributed to 93 eligible beneficiaries from the district through the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO). The devices were handed over by Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy and District Collector Santhosh. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the government is always ready to listen to and address the issues faced by differently-abled citizens. He recalled that a special camp was held on September 28 in Gattu mandal, where eligible beneficiaries were identified, and the required assistive aids were prepared and now provided. The initiative was carried out with the support of ALIMCO, a Government of India enterprise. He also highlighted various ongoing welfare programs for persons with disabilities (PwDs), such as: ₹4,000 monthly pension 4% reservation in government jobs Financial subsidies UDID cards for nationwide access to facilities He urged all differently-abled individuals to avail themselves of these schemes confidently and move forward with self-reliance. The distributed equipment included: 28 standard tricycles 35 battery-operated tricycles 7 wheelchairs 8 walking sticks 4 crutches 16 BTE (Behind-The-Ear) digital hearing aids with zinc-air batteries 12 TLM kits 2 accessible canes (Sugamya Canes) 2 smartphones equipped with screen readers MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, speaking at the event, reiterated the commitment of both the Central and State Governments to the welfare of the differently-abled. He acknowledged ALIMCO's role in supplying the much-needed equipment and assured continued efforts to provide more opportunities and support in the future. The program was attended by Additional Collectors Lakshmi Narayana and Narsinga Rao, District Welfare Officer Sunanda, ALIMCO representative Sunita Das, and several beneficiaries along with their families. This initiative reflects the government's inclusive approach toward social welfare and its commitment to ensuring dignity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all.

Water released from Guddemdoddi reservoir
Gadwal: In a significant step towards supporting farmers and strengthening agriculture in the region, MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy inaugurated the release of irrigation water from Phase-1 Pump House of the Nettampadu Lift Irrigation Scheme near Guddemdoddi village under Dharur Mandal. The MLA formally switched on the pump house, marking the beginning of the water release for agricultural purposes. As part of the ceremony, the MLA performed a traditional Gangamma Puja before commencing the water release. The released water will flow through canals to replenish tanks, ponds, and other water bodies, thereby enabling farmers to utilize it for crop cultivation. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA highlighted that early rainfall this year has increased the water levels in the Krishna River, enabling timely release of water from the Guddemdoddi reservoir. He assured the farming community that irrigation water will be provided for two crop seasons this year. He praised the efforts of irrigation officials and expressed confidence that farmers will successfully cultivate both crops with government support. The MLA provided an update on the Rayalampadu Reservoir, which has a storage capacity of 4 TMCs. He informed that currently, it holds around 2 TMCs of water. Acknowledging some difficulties in achieving full capacity, he stated that the matter has been brought to the attention of the Minister for Irrigation Uttam Kumar Reddy and relevant officials and assured that the reservoir works will be completed soon. He committed to ensuring that Rayalampadu Reservoir stores its full capacity next year and delivers irrigation water up to the tail-end lands, supporting two full crops. The MLA urged farmers to use the available water judiciously and in coordination to avoid wastage and maximise benefits.

Foundation Laid for Mission Bhagiratha Water Tank to Resolve Drinking Water Issues in Gattu Mandal Villages
Gadwal: A foundation ceremony (Bhoomi Pooja) was held today for the construction of a 2-lakh-liter capacity water tank under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme at the R&R Center in Chinnonipalli village of Gattu Mandal. The ceremony was led by former Mandal Parishad President (MPP) J. Vijay Kumar, accompanied by Mission Bhagiratha Deputy Executive Engineer Mr. Ravichandra Reddy. The tank, being constructed at a cost of ₹19 lakhs, aims to address the drinking water scarcity in four villages—Chinnonipalli, Anthampalli, Idigonipalli, and Sankapuram. Acting on the instructions of Hon'ble MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, this project is a major step toward ensuring consistent potable water supply to the region. Speaking on the occasion, former MPP J. Vijay Kumar stated that the water tank will significantly alleviate the long-standing drinking water issues in the area. He expressed gratitude to MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy for sanctioning the funds, District Collector B.M. Santosh, and Mission Bhagiratha engineering officials for their cooperation. He also urged the contractor to complete the construction promptly with high quality. MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy Hands Over Rs. 5 Lakh Compensation to Family of Electrocution Victim
Gadwal: In a compassionate gesture, Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy today handed over a compensation cheque of Rs. 5 lakh to the family of Gunjapalli Muni Swamy, a resident of Chagadona village in Gattu Mandal, who tragically died due to an electric shock. The financial assistance was extended under the Electric Accident Insurance Scheme of the Telangana Government. The cheque was presented to the victim's wife, Gunjapalli Saroj, at the MLA camp office located in Gadwal district headquarters. Expressing her gratitude, Saroj said, "We thank the Telangana Government and our MLA for standing by us during this difficult time." Several dignitaries and officials were present at the event, including former MPP Vijay Kumar, Agricultural Market Yard Chairman Kuruvu Hanumanthu, Electricity DE Tirupathi Rao, and local leaders Urukundu, Chandrashekar, Thimmappa, along with other party workers and supporters.
