What to watch this weekend: New TV shows, movies on streaming
What to watch this weekend: New TV shows, movies on streaming What to watch this weekend: the eternal question. Week in and week out, streaming services unveil a slew of new series and films, from high-profile originals everybody is talking about to foreign acquisitions that you trip over while scrolling through the apps. It's hard to sort through it all. To help, we've listed out every new film, series and special that will stream June 5-7, 2025, across the major platforms. We've highlighted the TV shows (and a few movies) we think are a little more worth your notice, from soapy "Ginny & Georgia" on Netflix to George Clooney's big Broadway bow on Max and CNN. New on streaming Thursday, June 5 "Barracuda Queens" Season 2 (Netflix) "Bea's Block" (kids/family, Max) "Chespirito: Not Really on Purpose" (Max) "Ginny & Georgia" Season 3 (Netflix) The third season of Netflix's popular and emotional family drama ups the soapy antics for the new episodes: Georgia (Brianne Howey) has just been arrested for murder during her wedding− ruining her fairy-tale ending and putting the spotlight on the Millers like never before. It's always been Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia against the world, but the world has never come for them quite like this. "House on Fire" (BET+) "The Killer Clown: Murder on the Doorstep" (AMC+/Sundance Now) "Tires" Season 2 (Netflix) A new season of the sitcom arrives from comedian Shane Gillis. New on streaming Friday, June 6 "K.O." (movie, Netflix) "Mercy for None" (Netflix) "Phineas and Ferb" (Disney+) Debuting first on Disney Channel on June 5, this revival of the popular animated musical series from the 2000s brings back all the manic energy parents of Gen Z remember. "Predator: Killer of Killers" (movie, Hulu) A new and very different kind of installment in the "Predator" franchise, this (very adult) animated anthology film hails from director Dan Trachtenberg, who directed the well-reviewed seventh film in the series, "Prey" (2022). "Killer of Killer" has three different segments, each set in a different time period in history (the Vikings era, feudal Japan and World War II), and each with heroes encountering the titular alien killers in very bloody battles. And it's not the only "Predator" story from Trachtenberg this year; his film "Predator: Badlands" will open in theaters November 7. "Straw" (movie, Netflix) "The Survivors" (Netflix) New on streaming Saturday, June 7 "Soaring to Life: The Making of How to Train Your Dragon" (Peacock, TV special) "Good Night and Good Luck" ( 7 ET/4 PT, Max, CNN apps, with no login required) CNN and Max are giving viewers a taste of Broadway a night before the Great White Way's annual awards show. They're livestreaming the penultimate performance of George Clooney's Tony-nominated play based on the 2005 film starring and directed by Clooney. New on streaming Sunday, June 8

Has Barracuda Queens been renewed for Season 3? Here's what we know:
Renewed Or Cancelled? Barracuda Queens is a Swedish crime thriller with a twist, sporting some crazy characters, a bonkers storyline and a lot of 90's nostalgia. If you've watched the first two seasons, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here's what we know: What is Barracuda Queens about? Barracuda Queens centers on a girl gang heist in an upper-class setting. The Barracuda Queens are a group of disaffected teenage girls who, bored of their privileged lives in an affluent Stockholm suburb, become involved in an escalating campaign of house burglaries targeting their naïve rich neighbours. By day they are high-achieving students and daughters but by night, they are ruthless thieves. Season 2 though jumps forward 5 years, and we're now into the new millennium. Lollo returns from her studies in Paris to Stockholm with her friends, adjusting to their normal lifestyles after they leave their life of crime behind. Now reunited, however, they have grand plans and need to raise funds quickly. How will they do it? They turn their eyes to the world of expensive and priceless art of course! Has Barracuda Queens been renewed for season 3? At the time of writing, Barracuda Queens has not been renewed for season 3. Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show's future is made. So far, Barracuda Queens has had a decent reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many commenting that the characters and the nostalgic beats are the stand out elements of this one. Given the way this show is set up, we're predicting that this will be renewed for a third season. The series does have plenty of potential and the ending certainly leaves things open for more. Netflix are generally more lenient on their international offerings too. Could we see Barracuda Queens go the same way? However, we could be completely wrong, given Netflix do tend to cancel a lot of their series, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt! What we know about season 3 so far: Barely anything is known about season 3 at this point as Netflix haven't officially renewed this one. Should it be renewed, we have some big questions. The group are bound for Bora Bora, and they have a cool 10 million too… but now that they've got a taste of the high-life, why stop now? It seems like the heists are going to continue escalating, especially as Lollo intends to lead the girls into more extravagant gigs. If this series is renewed, we'd expect it to be green-lit with another 6 episode order, with a lot of the old cast returning too. Do you want to see Barracuda Queens return for a third season? What did you think of the show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
