All roads led to Shepton Mallet this week as tens of thousands of people attended the Bath and West at Wookey Hole Caves, there was the intimidating sight of new animatronic dinosaurs for visitors to The Wurzels have released a new song written with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and Taunton hosted the women's T20 a round-up of images showing life across Somerset this week. Country life: From new tractors and other machinery to livestock displays, cheeses and cider and live music, the Bath and West Show once again drew tens of thousands of people to Shepton Mallet this week. Scary sight: New dinosaurs have arrived at the Wookey Hole Caves. The 13 new animatronic creatures are part of an expansion of the site's Dinosaur Valley. Calm waters: Weather watcher Sparky captured this peaceful scene at Porlock. Recognition: The team behind the Royal United Hospital in Bath's 'Hospital at Home' has won an award after supporting their 5,000th patient. The initiative works to get patients out of hospital and back in their own homes as quickly as possible. The team won the Working Together Award at the RUH's You Matter Staff Awards. Celebrations: Lancashire Thunder were the victors at the T20 Women's County Cup Final, beating Surrey at the County Ground in Taunton. Back to the future: Somerset band The Wurzels have released a new single written by artificial intelligence (AI) called Wurzel Me Up. The band said they had decided to use the technology as they had not written a song for a while. New facility: The UK's first fully recyclable pitch opened at the University of Bath this week. The artificial turf is manufactured without latex and can be fully reprocessed at the end of its life rather than going to landfill. Peaceful: Weather watcher Philbert Nut captured this beautiful scene - and his dog - on a walk in Pilton. Crossing boundaries: Nailsea Town Council members have proposed changes to parish boundaries as part of the community governance review.

The Royal Bath and West Show has returned for another year, with tens of thousands of punters due to descend on the showground for the three-day event. The show is the largest agricultural event in the West of England, having been founded in 1777 and based at The Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet since 1965. It celebrates farming and offers animal exhibits, food stalls, celebrity talks, vintage fairgrounds, live music, and more. Gates opened at 09:00 BST, with punters flooding in to experience the best the West has to offer at the show, which continues until Sunday. In season strawberries: Amongst the attractions are stalls selling strawberries. UK strawberry growers have reported a "stonking start" to the season thanks to a "glorious" spring. Say cheese: People can also get their hands on Somerset cheese at this year's show, where chefs such as Andy Clark, Lisa Cadd and George Egg will also be turning up to host live cooking demonstrations. Young farmers: The next generation of farmers have already had chance to show off their skills on day one of the Bath and West Show. Livestock on display: The show has got off to a busy start, with people flocking to see some of the West's most prized livestock on display. Duly rewarded: Recipients of the Prince of Wales Award stand proud having been presented with their awards. The award recognises community organisations and initiatives in the southwest. There is more planned across the weekend, including a chance for fans of Clarkson's Farm can meet one of its stars, Kaleb Cooper, on Friday when he takes part in a Q&A and book signing.
