Shakira makes history as she breaks records on Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour - after singer slipped on stage

Shakira 's Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour has become the highest grossing Latin American concert by a female artist. The Columbian singer, 48, has made history after surpassing Karol G 's Mañana Será Bonito song. Her Mexican and South American shows have grossed a staggering $130million (£96million) with 21 shows. It's a close comparison to Columbian singer Karol G's previous tour record of $125 million (£92million) with 29 shows. According to Billboard, Shakira is the only Latin tour to reach Top 10 of the 2025 midyear Boxscore Report, ranking No. 2 globally. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Shakira fell on stage during a performing Whenever, Wherever last week at the Bell Centre in Montreal - coming weeks after concerns of a Measles outbreak at a concert she performed in New Jersey earlier this month. The three-time Grammy winner was in the middle of performing the high-energy track - a top 10 hit on Billboard 's charts in late 2001 - when she slipped and hit the ground. A fan posted a clip of the fall on Instagram Stories, depicting the South American singer, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, losing her balance sideways and hitting the ground. The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker - who has been on the road on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour - dusted herself off and continued with her performance. One user said on X that Shakira 'handled it like the boss that she is,' while another called the entertainer's refusal to let the slip derail the show 'a great example of resilience! The commenter added, "Hope she didn't get injured. Such falls cause pains and injuries the next morning.' The slip was one in a number of complications Shakira and her team have faced on the road this time around. The May 15 show at MetLife Stadium led the New Jersey Department of Health to publicly state that those who attended 'could develop symptoms [of measles] as late as June 6'. Shakira fell on stage during a performing Whenever, Wherever last Tuesday at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The three-time Grammy winner was in the middle of performing the high-energy track - a top 10 hit on Billboard's charts in late 2001 - when she slipped and hit the ground Authorities in the Garden State said that anyone who was present at the venue - which hosts the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets - between the evening May 15 into early on May 16 could have been exposed to the airborne virus. Health officials said that a person who was infected with measles was present at the show for the superstar songstress, who has past worked on collaborations with Rihanna, Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas. Shakira has also dealt with an 'abdominal issue' that led her to cancel a February 16 show at Peru's National Stadium after visiting a hospital over it the prior day. 'I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,' the Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) artist said via Instagram Stories. The Underneath Your Clothes artist - who is mother to sons, Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10 with ex Gerard Piqué, 38, is due to visit the U.S. capital for a show on May 31 at Nationals Park. That will be followed by concerts in large cities such as Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, San Antonio and Houston, among other destinations.

UFC 315 live blog: Jose Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi

This is the UFC 315 live blog for Jose Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi, the main card featherweight bout Saturday at Bell Centre in Montreal. Aldo (32-9) is currently No. 9 at 135 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. This bout was changed from a bantamweight contest to featherweight on Friday due to weight-cutting issues on Aldo's side. Advertisement The future UFC Hall of Famer has lost two of his past three fights, with those losses being unsatisfying decisions against Mario Bautista and future bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili. Aldo had previously won three straight fights to put himself on the cusp of another title opportunity before losing to Dvalishvili via a close decision. Zahabi (12-2) has won five straight fights. After putting on an impressive performance to hand Javid Basharat his first loss, Zahabi defeated veteran Pedro Munhoz this past December in his most recent outing. A win Saturday guarantees Zahabi his highest number yet in the bantamweight rankings. Check out the UFC 315 live blog for Jose Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi below. More from

Alexa Grasso Posts Gruesome Post-Fight Image Following UFC 315 Loss

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - MAY 10: Alexa Grasso of Mexico looks on in a women's flyweight bout against ... More Natalia Silva of Brazil during UFC 315 at Bell Centre on May 10, 2025 in Montreal, Quebec. (Photo by) Mixed martial artists are known for showing the scars from war after a fight—win or lose. Monday was former UFC women's flyweight champion Alexa Grasso's turn to display the bruises from a one-sided loss to rising contender Natalie Silva on Saturday night in Montreal at UFC 315. Grasso took to Instagram to show off a pretty gruesome image of the aftermath of her fight with Silva. During Grasso's unanimous decision loss to Silva, she was picked apart by the Brazilian's combination of speed and striking accuracy. Grasso has displayed high-level boxing during her career, but she simply couldn't get a handle on the elusive Silva. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) During the fight, Silva connected with 65 significant strikes to just 45 from Grasso. Even when Grasso attempted to zero in on Silva to secure a takedown, the speed and explosiveness were too big of an advantage for her to overcome. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) The loss will drop Grasso to No. 2 at best for now, but there is a chance she could fall further. Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber clash on May 31, and the winner of that fight could move past Grasso in the rankings. Meanwhile, I'd expect Silva to vault to No. 1 when the new women's flyweight rankings are released since that's where Grasso was ranked ahead of their fight on Saturday. While Silva looked championship-ready in her defeat of Grasso, she will likely have to wait a while to get a title shot. Valentina Shevchenko successfully defended her 125-pound crown via unanimous decision over Manon Fiorot in the UFC 315 co-main event. It is likely she will get a super fight against reigning women's strawweight champion Weili Zhang, who is expected to vacate the strawweight crown to move up to 125 pounds. Silva's best chance is probably to wait for the winner of that fight and then to hopefully get an opportunity to challenge for the crown in early 2026. Grasso will probably get a decently long medical suspension because of the damage she took to her face, so we'll see when she will be cleared to train and to return to the Octagon. However, it would make sense for her to face the winner of Blanchfield-Barber or to face the winner of the June 14 fight between Rose Namajunas and Miranda Maverick. Namajunas-Grasso has some appeal, as it would be a battle between two former champions—and that's not commonplace in the women's division. As it is, Grasso showed her commitment to the sport and that she is a true warrior. Her return will be anticipated, but as she has now lost two in a row, the stakes will be even higher for the next fight—no matter who she fights.
