5 Ways to Style the Capri Pants Trend in 2025
Like socks with sandals, white after Labor Day, or wearing brown and black together, capri pants are one of those fashion things that you either love or can't stand. If you're a fan, you'll be pumped to know that they're majorly back in style with many an influencer clamoring for a pair of petal pushers to post to the grid. The in-between, semi-awkward length has long been shunned in favor of "easier" styles like denim shorts and high-waisted jeans, but over the past few months, I've personally come around to the idea of a cheeky little calf reveal. Clearly, others are dying to show a little leg, too—Bella Hadid has been papped multiple times wearing capris with everything from flowy blouses to backless halter tops. And for those of you wondering, "how do you style capri pants in 2025?", I've taken it upon myself to prove to you that it's an ideal style for both air flow and summer styling, with plenty of inspo in tow. Feel free to take screenshots for later... Big Shirt Little Pants gang, this one's for you. Any oversized button-down shirt will do the trick, so thrift one from Goodwill, steal one from your dad, etc. Then layer it over a pair of tight capri pants and throw on an unexpected shoe, like a little slide or heel. It doesn't get easier than this! Who says a suit has to involve long pants? I certainly didn't. Lean into the cropped theme with a short blazer and some below-the-knee capris for a minimal slay with maximum impact. Take a page out of Bella Hadid's book (no, really, she was an early adopter of the trend and has worn numerous pairs) and take your capris to the clurb. Don a shiny lurex pair or even some sheer lace capris with your favorite heels and you'll be looking like a walking Pinterest board. If you're worried that your T-shirt and capri leggings combo is giving more YMCA energy than you were going for, a little Greased Lightning action (aka a leather jacket) will prevent that. Accessorizing with a heel and some sunglasses makes the outfit feel intentional! One of my favorite ways of putting together an outfit is to create a color sandwich. It's pretty self-explanatory—pick out a color scheme for your top and shoes, and then "sandwich" in your favorite bottoms for results that look something like this red and black look. Gigi And Bella Hadid Reveal They Have A Newly-Discovered Half-Sister
The world's most famous model sisters have revealed that they have another half-sister, destined for a career in fashion design In a revelation that may bring another Hadid into the fashion industry fold, supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid have shared that they recently connected with a previously unknown half-sister, Aydan Nix. The sisters confirmed the news in a joint statement to the Daily Mail, explaining that Aydan, now 23, is the daughter of their father, real estate developer Mohamed Hadid, and Terri Hatfield Dull. The relationship took place after Mohamed's divorce from Yolanda Hadid in 2001. 'Over 20 years ago, our dad, while single, had a brief relationship that led to a pregnancy,' the Palestinian-Dutch sisters revealed, adding that they only learned of Aydan's existence recently. Aydan was raised in Florida by the man she had always known as her father—until his unexpected death when she was 19. 'Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19,' the statement read. It was this loss that prompted her to 'take a genetic test out of curiosity,' ultimately leading her to discover her 'biological connection' to the Hadid family. According to Bella and Gigi, the siblings established contact with Aydan in late 2023. Although details about Aydan's life remain limited, it is understood she resides in New York City and is a recent graduate of Parsons School of Design, with aspirations of pursuing a career in fashion. The Hadid siblings—Bella, 28, Gigi, 30, and Anwar, 25—are well known for their close family ties. They also have two older half-sisters, Alana Hadid, 39, and Marielle Hadid, 44, from Mohamed's earlier marriage to Mary Butler. 'We've cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family,' they shared. In their statement, the sisters also voiced their desire to protect Aydan's privacy as she navigates this personal development. 'As siblings, we've had many open and loving conversations—with Aydan included—about how to support and protect her,' they said. 'Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honour her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.'

ELLE Editors Share Their Ultimate Workout Clothes And Accessories
There's a lot of stuff out there, and not all fashion pieces are created equal. Luckily, the ELLE editors know their way around a shopping rail, and when it comes to helping you find those perfect wardrobe building blocks, they're up to the task. From the new and niche brands worth knowing to high-street hits of quality, and a few vintage treasures too, our ELLE Edits showcase the very best of the season. The best activewear clothes and accessories will adapt to an array of activities, whether you're pursuing a PB in your local run club or perfecting a pose in Barre. But beyond the gym floor, the rise of WFH has seen many of us adopt athleisure as everyday wear. We now rely on sculpting leggings that wash well and will look as good when worn for Reformer as meeting friends for a weekend brunch, and trainers that deliver as highly in the style stakes as they do on a mixed trail run. The rapid growth of the UK wellness industry (said to be worth over $223 billion in 2024) has also seen a plethora of new brands enter the market since 2010. The likes of Tala, Sporty and Rich, Adanola, Varley and On have quickly amassed loyal fan bases and impressive social media followings, while LA starlets Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid are often seen wearing athleisure separates to run errands. With many Gen Z and Millennials now choosing a run club over a debauched night out, there exists a wealth of fitness product whether you're seeking to level up in Soul Cycle, F45, Barrecore or strength training. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE Lululemon is loved for its leggings, On counts Zendaya and Mia Regan as fans, and Adanola enlisted Kendall Jenner for an edit having seen gross profits surge by 124% in 2024. We've also witnessed the rise of the Fashion Trainer, spearheaded by Wales Bonner for Adidas, whose cult designs can reach resale prices exceeding $500. But how to choose the correct kit? When seeking separates for high intensity workouts, yoga or Pilates, look for polyester, nylon, elastane and spandex, which are known for their moisture-wicking, breathability, and stretch. More eco-conscious blends of cotton and bamboo will feel soft against the skin and suit lighter movement. Running shoes should offer flexibility and support to cushion your feet, and styles differ for trail running versus flat roads or shorter, more casual runs. As a rule, look for waterproof trainers with mesh vents on the upper to boost airflow and allow any moisture to escape, keeping your feet cooler and reducing the risk of blisters. Gait analysis is often offered free as part of the fitting service in running shoe stores and will help you choose the shoe spec best suited to your foot type, terrain and running motion. Many brands now offer multiple lengths in leggings, whether you're petite, tall, or just fancy the extra coverage, and most gymwear doesn't need to be hand-washed – just use a gentle spin at 30 degrees for a minimal time then air dry. To power up your next workout, we've enlisted a selection of seasoned ELLE editors (who favour a variety of sporting pursuits) to share their favourite gym kit and accessories. 'I alternate between Spin and Reformer classes so need flattering, comfortable leggings that suit both pastimes. With Adanola having achieved cult status (and endorsement from Kaia Gerber, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Emily Ratajkowski) I bought a pair of its Ultimate Leggings and can attest to the product name's bold promise. With a four-way stretch fabric, they have a higher waistline for extra support and contour and come in three lengths – ankle, cropped, and tall. They wash brilliantly and I've been known to pair them with slingbacks and an oversized blazer at weekends. As well as the core collection of neutral colourways like black, navy and brown, there are seasonal drops of new shades. I'll soon be adding the Wrap Over style to basket to tap into the balletcore trend.' - Esther Coombes, Senior Ecommerce Editor, Luxury 'My workouts would be nothing without my Panache sports bra. The underwired style sees me through all sorts of gym activities from rebounding to weights, Pilates to Barre. I appreciate the way it has total coverage to ensure that I am held in place throughout. I was advised during its initial fitting to size up in the band and down in the cup and would recommend you do the same.' - Naomi Pike, Commissioning Editor Paid content 'As a city dweller who travels mostly on foot, I'm keen to track my step count and sleep cycles, so the new Watch Fit 4 Pro from Huawei is high on my wish list. Akin to having a personal wellness coach on your wrist, this stylish new wearable tech tracks your sleep duration and stage chart, and offers real-time monitoring of your ECG, heart rate and oxygen levels. Ranking as one of the lightest smart watch models on the market and with up to 10 days battery time after a full charge, you can choose from three sleek colour ways (I'd opt for Titanium Blue). The Trail Running Mode, with offline contour maps, GPS guidance and terrain-specific stats may influence me to be a little more daring on a weekend run, too.' - Esther Coombes, Senior Ecommerce Editor, Luxury 'My performances in Reformer classes would be nothing without the support of my Lululemon Align tank top; it unwaveringly hoists and hugs in all of the right places so that no matter the contortion of my body, I'm supported. I couldn't be without it (and the Align leggings are fantastic too).' - Naomi May, Deputy Site Editor 'Peloton leggings are a hidden gem. The plain black pair I have are my favourites by far – no underwear visible, they never fall down, hug you the perfect amount and don't fade or bobble (and I've worn them a lot). Their sizing is inclusive (it runs from XS to 3X) and they have an amazing range of patterns and colours. They also now collab with Lululemon. I've loved lots of the sportswear I've tried from the brand, but their leggings need to be tried to be believed. You'll be converted.' - Rhiannon Evans, Site Director 'As someone who sticks mainly to heeled boots or ballet flats, I loathe to wear trainers. But when Lululemon debuted the surprisingly stylish Chargefeel 3 – with their breathable mesh upper, silhouette-smoothing sock upper and featherweight sole – I found myself wanting to wear them outside of the gym, too.' - Abigail Southan, Senior Ecommerce Editor, Fashion and Beauty 'As a Wimbledon native, I like to nod to my heritage and Ralph Lauren's collaboration with the Championships is just the ticket. As Official Outfitter of Wimbledon, Ralph Lauren launches new merch ahead of each year's tennis competition, and this preppy-inspired crew neck jumper will be perfect pre and post workout.' - Esther Coombes, Senior Ecommerce Editor, Luxury 'I never normally read too much into the name of a trainer but the On Cloudmonster 2s really do live up to theirs. Bouncy and beautifully cushioned, I can spring around the park in these and then also wear them to the office.' - Hannah Nathanson, Features Director 'You might know Spanx for its shapewear, but the legendary lingerie brand also does the most amazing activewear, too. As well as the collection's control leggings, I like to slip into this half-zip top which is ludicrously comfy. It's sweat-wicking, so you can workout in it, but I might have been known to wear it with the matching trackies to the pub too...' - Abigail Southan, Senior Ecommerce Editor, Fashion and Beauty Esther Coombes is the Senior Ecommerce Editor at Harper's Bazaar, ELLE and Esquire, overseeing luxury shopping content across fashion, beauty, travel and homes. 17 Celebrities Who Got Refreshingly Real About Periods
I remember the shock of getting my first period, and my mom reassuring me at the time by telling me that pretty much every woman you see walking down the street experiences periods, too. But, being the pop culture-obsessed pre-teen I was, my mind went straight to my favorite celebrities: 'Wow, they get periods too!' And well, I was right. Even the most famous women in the world experience periods, hormones, and all the ups and downs that come with having a uterus. So, without further ado, here's a roundup of some celebs who've been refreshingly honest about their periods — because, as these ladies prove, it's really nothing to be ashamed of! Bella Hadid Speaking to British Vogue in May, Bella, who has endometriosis, got real about the difficulties of working on her period. 'You're shooting Victoria's Secret on your period, with endo,' she said. 'That should be illegal,' she continued. 'I'm going to talk to the White House about it, because we should literally ban women working on the week of their period. And the week before, to be honest.' Honestly, I agree. The week before my period is HELL. Kate Winslet We all know the struggle of getting your period when you're meant to be getting in a pool — now imagine you're getting into that pool with Leonardo DiCaprio and filming Titanic. 'I'm not saying it was all happy-clappy. There were days when you'd just think, 'Oh, my God, I've got my period and I can't get in that freezing-cold water today,'' Kate told Rolling Stone in 1998. 'I remember standing up and saying to everyone, 'Listen, if it suddenly looks like Jaws, the movie, it's my fault.'' Emma Chamberlain Emma has talked openly about her experience with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and how getting treatment for the condition 'changed [her] life.' 'My periods are so much more chill, my skin is so much more predictable,' she said during a Vogue video. 'My hair is getting thicker. It's just feeling like I'm coming back to myself in a way.' Prior to this, Emma said she'd been struggling with 'irregular periods, cystic acne, anxiety, depression, and a slew of other issues.' Lena Dunham After years of painful periods, Lena was diagnosed with endometriosis in her late 20s. "As my teen years progressed, my periods became more and more painful until it started to really disrupt my daily life," she told Cosmopolitan in 2020. In 2018, after enduring more excruciating periods, she chose to have a hysterectomy, which is a pretty uncommon treatment for endometriosis. You can read more about the procedure here. Dakota Johnson Your monthly cycle is a wild ride, and Dakota knows the struggle. In 2019, she told InStyle that her hormonal changes throughout her cycle are so 'traumatic' that it's 'ruining [her] life.' 'Every month. It's unbelievable. It's really fucking amazing. I can't get a grip on it,' she said. Aly Raisman Aly is a gymnast with six Olympic medals and knows a thing or two about getting her period at the worst time — but it's not something that she feels the need to hide. 'When you're really nervous, you have butterflies in your stomach, and you have your period — it's just not a good combination,' she shared in 2017. 'You just kind of have to just keep going …You can't tell the judges you want to compete tomorrow or wait a few days.' As for whether she'd ever free-bleed like other athletes have in the past, she said: 'I don't know if I'd have the confidence to do that,' which, IMO, is totally fair enough. Florence Pugh Florence is another female celeb who's talked openly about being diagnosed with PCOS in her 20s. Notably, she said in 2024 that she thought her PCOS symptoms, which involve irregular periods and weight fluctuation, were just 'part of being a woman.' '[I] didn't think that it was something that is common,' she said on the SHE MD podcast. 'I really just thought that it was something that you'd feel and that you'd know you had and that it wasn't really a worry.' Demi Lovato Demi told People in 2015 that her mom and sister were so excited when she got her first period that they threw a mini celebration. "My sister folded a poster board in half and made a card out of it, and drew pictures, and it said, 'Happy Period Day!' And she drew stick figures and kisses, and she used red markers," she said. "I have a pretty good sense of humor, so on one hand, I was totally embarrassed, and on the other, I thought it was awesome." How's that for some period positivity? Kourtney Kardashian In 2019, Kourtney posted a photo on Instagram of herself and her friend Stephanie Shepherd lying on a beach in bikinis. Giving some insight into their conversation when the pic was taken, she captioned it:' 'Is my tampon string showing?' @steph_shep whispered to me. The source of life shouldn't be embarrassing or hard to talk about. Mothers, teach your sons too.' Preach it, Kourt. Mindy Kaling Ironically, Mindy felt like her first period couldn't come fast enough. "I started menstruating in ninth grade," she wrote in a 2013 essay published in Rookie: Yearbook Two. "I spent all of eighth grade faking that I had my period, down to sticking Kotex in my underwear in case anyone needed proof." Miley Cyrus Memorably, Miley said she got her first period on the set of Hannah Montana. "It was so embarrassing, but I couldn't leave," she told Marie Claire in 2015. "And I was crying, begging my mom, 'You're going to have to put the tampon in. I have to be on set.'" Jennifer Lawrence We all know the pain of having to scrap the cute outfit you had planned in your mind because of your period — now imagine that with red carpet looks. In 2016, revealed that her dress for the Golden Globes that year was actually her second choice. "That was my plan-B dress," she told Harper's Bazaar. "Plan A was a dress that I couldn't wear because awards season is synced with my menstrual cycle, and it has been for years. [The dress I wore] was loose at the front. And I didn't have to worry about sucking anything in. The other dress was really tight, and I'm not going to suck in my uterus. I don't have to do that." On your period, it's gotta be comfort over style every time! Kim Kardashian Kim remembers her first period to the very day, which is kind of iconic. 'I got my period seeing the movie Batman for your birthday,' she previously told her sister Khloé. 'June 27th.' Charli xcx We know Charli is never afraid to speak her mind, and earlier this year, the singer candidly told fans at her Brat tour that she'd literally just come on her period. "Sometimes you're standing on stage and you get your period right before the show and you're wearing tiny little hot pants," she sang during the "Girl, so confusing" intro. "Is my tampon string gonna stick out? Or is it gonna be OK?" Dove Cameron Dove told Seventeen that she used to be so shy about discussing her period that she'd buy tampons with her allowance to avoid awkward conversations. "I think I didn't even tell my mom when I started my first period, because I was shy," she said in 2018. "I just didn't want to talk to anybody about my I could go back and tell myself that it was okay, I would go back and tell myself that was okay." Sophie Turner In 2018, photographs of Sophie crying on an outing with her then-fiancé, Joe Jonas, caused a stir online. At the time, the Game of Thrones star was quick to provide some context. "Lol. Thank god I have a loving fiancé. Periods are a bitch," she wrote on Twitter (now X). When someone questioned the tears, Sophie hit back, writing: "Girl…. you've never had cramps?" Relatable. Madison Beer Madison's story about her period leaking at a Justin Bieber concert might just be the most quintessential 2010s teenage experience... ever? "In front of like 30 girls, this one girl was like, 'You're bleeding, are you okay?'" she told Seventeen. "So I look down, and I was in these little black shorts, and I looked at my mom and I literally started crying and I ran to the bathroom." Fortunately, the "sweetest old woman" was there to save the day with a pad. What a queen.
