Enzo Maresca told Chelsea players have been sold by TEXT as club's busy transfer wheeling and dealing is laid bare
ENZO Maresca only thinks about the Chelsea 'bomb squad' when he gets a TEXT or tap on the shoulder to tell him another unwanted player has left. The Blues boss admitted the first he knew about midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu being sold to Burnley was when a staff member told him the news the morning after the £23.2m deal was completed. 4 4 Ugochukwu had been training away from the first-team squad, along with fellow exiles like Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell. Maresca said: 'The situation, I think, is quite clear. They are training. I guess they are waiting for a solution. 'But when they leave, it's just the club that they text me or they call me. 'It was just mentioned to me that Lesley joined Burnley. 'I have this kind of news from the club because I don't pay attention to the ones that are training and need to leave. 'I just focus on how we prepare the session, how we can win games.' For Maresca, it really is a case of out of sight, out of mind. Chelsea have been busy selling and sending players out on loan to create a manageable squad for him. As SunSport revealed, before the recent flurry of outgoings, the Blues had at least 46 first team players on their books. Striker Armando Broja is set to follow Ugochukwu to Burnley, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has joined Everton. Renato Veiga and Carney Chukwuemeka are also up for sale and training away from the first-team group. Chelsea are facing a unique challenge after a back-to-front pre-season. The players who won the Club World Cup had a three-week break before returning to training only on Monday this week. The Blues are trying to find the balance between having a big enough squad to cope with the start of the new season and asking Maresca to manage too many players. The Chelsea head coach said: 'For sure, it's much better to work with 25 players than more, than the biggest number. 'In this moment, we are working with the ones that we want. And we will see [what happens] from now until the transfer window is finished.' 4 4

Enzo Maresca: Chelsea manager issues damning verdict on unwanted Blues stars
Enzo Maresca has plunged his unwanted Chelsea stars further into the cold with a brutal remark. The Italian is keen to oversee a fire-sale at Stamford Bridge to allow for the arrival of more fresh faces, while also cutting down the Blues' bloated squad. He has already allowed Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, Noni Madueke, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Kepa Arrizabalga depart among others. The Blues omitted nine names from their first-team squad list, including the likes of Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling, and Carney Chukwuemeka. Chelsea have a much shorter pre-season than most, having won the Club World Cup back in July before giving their players three weeks off. The squad returned to training earlier this week ahead of two friendlies in three days, against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan. In his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Erik ten Hag's Leverkusen, Maresca said that he did not 'pay attention' to the players he had earmarked for an exit. He even admitted that he learned of one departure because his press officer had just told him. "The situation, I think, is quite clear. They are training, I guess they are waiting for a solution," said Maresca of those he deems surplus to requirements. "But when they leave, it's just the club that texts me or calls me, even Tom [media officer], he just mentioned to me that Lesley [Ugochukwu] joined Burnley. "I have this kind of news from him or from the club because I don't pay attention to the ones that need to leave. I just focus on how we prepare the session, how we can win games. "For sure, it's much better to work with 25 players than the biggest number, no doubt. At this moment, we are working with the ones that we want." Ugochukwu's £20million move to Burnley will make the Frenchman the second Chelsea player to move to Turf Moor, after Bashir Humphreys made the switch earlier this summer. Striker Armanda Broja is expected to join them, while Dewsbury-Hall's move to Everton for £25m was confirmed on Wednesday.

Chelsea Removes 9 Players from Official Website
Rana Atef Chelsea have made a strong statement about the future of several players by quietly scrubbing nine names from the club's official website, signaling their potential exits as the squad reshaping continues. Despite four years of non-stop spending and a revolving door of arrivals, the Blues have once again shaken the squad. The latest to join is 19-year-old Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, signed this week for £35.5 million plus add-ons, marking Chelsea's 39th signing in just four years. But with the arrivals, exits must follow. And now, the club has essentially banished nine players from the first-team section of its website—removing their photos, profiles, and presence altogether. Among the most high-profile absences is Raheem Sterling. Signed in 2022 for £47.5 million, the England international now finds himself erased from the squad page. After falling out of favour under new boss Enzo Maresca and spending last season on loan at Arsenal, Sterling's Chelsea career appears all but over. Also missing: full-back Ben Chilwell, who returned from a loan spell at Crystal Palace, and striker Armando Broja, who's expected to join Burnley. Midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu and academy product Alfie Gilchrist have also disappeared from the site. Even more striking: seven of the nine omitted players were signed for a combined total of over £200 million—making this clear-out not just tactical, but costly. The full list of players no longer featured includes: Raheem Sterling Ben Chilwell Armando Broja Lesley Ugochukwu Alfie Gilchrist Axel Disasi Carney Chukwuemeka Renato Veiga David Datro Fofana read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Chelsea 'send brutal transfer message' as nine first-team stars left off new squad list
Chelsea have sent a brutal message to nine transfer-listed first-team players as a new squad list was published ahead of pre-season. The Blues reported to Cobham for a truncated training camp on Monday as they brace for friendly meetings with Bayer Leverkusen and AC ever, Chelsea have been busy in the transfer window this summer, already adding eight new players to the first team, and have now turned their attention to sales as they look to balance the books. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Lesley Ugochukwu are both nearing moves away from Stamford Bridge after Djorde Petrovic, Noni Madueke, and Joao Felix were offloaded in recent weeks, with several other first-team players also set to depart. A new squad list published on the club website features each of Chelsea's new summer signings but omits nine players who spent last season on loan and are expected to be sold or loaned again this summer. Ugochukwu is among those left out, as are Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell, who spent last season with Arsenal and Crystal Palace, respectively. Defenders Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, and Alfie Gilchrist are also absent. After impressing on loan at Sheffield United last season, Gilchrist is reportedly set to return to the Championship, likely on a permanent deal, while Veiga has drawn interest from Bayern Munich and sides in the Saudi Pro League. Carney Chukwuemeka is left out amid reports linking him to a return to Borussia Dortmund, with the same true of Armando Broja, who is set to complete a move to Burnley. Striker David Datro Fofana is the last first-teamer missing from the squad. His loan to Turkish Super Lig side Goztepe was cut short last season after he suffered a season-ending knee injury. Dewsbury-Hall is listed with the squad despite being close to joining Everton, but was not pictured in training on Monday. Chelsea are under pressure to close out this window with a positive transfer balance after they were sanctioned by UEFA for breaching financial rules earlier this summer. The world champions have already spent well over £200m this summer, and are continuing to press on in negotiations for Xavi Simons. They also hold an interest in Alejandro Garnacho.

'A great fit for Chelsea's project'
We asked for your views on Chelsea's latest signing Jorrel Hato from are some of your comments:James: Good signing - very pleased with this one. To have played 111 games and be capped for the Netherlands at 19 speaks volumes of how highly rated he is. competition is needed throughout the squad, just need a new keeper I feel to complete the A very good young player, with the potential to be a top class defender. My worry is that, like (the excellent) Renato Veiga, he may not be happy as a back-up player getting appearances off the bench and in cup matches and seek a loan move after a few months to play He is young, energetic, and a great fit for Chelsea's Excellent signing and he will only get better as an understudy to the master of inverted left-backs, the mighty Marc Cucurella. Remember when they said Chelsea's squad was too large? Who's laughing now?Frederick: Let's stand by him and give him all the support he needs to excel. Welcome. BLUE IS THE Good to have back-up for Cucurella, but makes it even more important that we move Ben Chilwell Another promising young player. Roman Abramovich bought trophies to the club but if we're honest the scouting at the club during his time was shocking. It was more of a scattergun approach. While Todd Boehly has spent a lot of money it certainly looks like the scouts know what they're doing and buying players that fit a type of system rather than just the latest 'name'. Looking forward to seeing these young players gel together and form a cohesive unit. Still need a goalkeeper though.
