Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pushing to sign Arsenal star after 'positive' meeting
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Besiktas have held a 'positive' meeting over a summer deal with Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, according to reports in Turkey. Solskjaer, who played for and managed Manchester United, is planning to sign a new midfielder in his first transfer window in charge of Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas. Besiktas were in crisis before Solskjaer's arrival in January but the Old Trafford legend has stabilised the club on and off the pitch. They have climbed to fourth in the Super Lig ahead of their final two games of the season and already qualified for next season's Europa League. Besiktas have been one of the best teams in Turkey since Solskjaer's appointment and the former Premier League star is keen for his team to kick on next season with the help of some summer additions. At least one new midfielder will be added to Solskjaer's squad and the ex-Norway international has identified Partey as a top target. Partey has enjoyed arguably his best season at Arsenal and his form has attracted interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Juventus, as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia. The 31-year-old's current deal is due to expire at the end of next month and he is yet to agree fresh terms. Partey is believed to be keen on extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium but will of course leave if a deal cannot be struck. Turkish outlet Fanatik say Besiktas have already made contact with Partey's agent and held a 'positive' meeting about bringing him to the club. Arsenal will make one last attempt to keep Partey in north London following the end of the Premier League season, with Mikel Arteta recently confirming he wanted the Ghana international to stay. 'In regards to Thomas, consistency-wise, it's been his best season,' Arteta said before Arsenal's final game of the season against Southampton. 'I think the way he's played, performed, his availability has been exceptional and he's a really important player for us.' Asked if he wanted Partey to remain at the Gunners, Arteta simply replied: 'Yes'. Partey is not the only Arsenal player coming towards the end of his contract, with fellow midfielder Jorginho and full-back Kieran Tierney in the same boat. More Trending Jorginho is expected to join Brazilian club Flamengo on a free transfer while Tierney, whose Arsenal career has been plagued by injury problems, is poised to return to Celtic. 'Well, there's some question marks on a few of them, so we'll have to wait and see,' Arteta said. 'We still have another Premier League match to play on Sunday and after that we have some time to sit down and finalise a few things that have to be done.' Arsenal appointed Andrea Berta as their new sporting director earlier in the year and the former Atletico Madrid chief will oversee transfer dealings this summer. Abraham to return to Roma with Turkey on the horizon
Tammy Abraham is set for a return to Roma as Milan are unlikely to keep him. With the season winding to a close, the future of the English striker is yet to be sorted. As reported by Corriere dello Sport, once his loan at Milan is up, Abraham will return to Trigoria and wait to find out what the future holds for him. Besiktas have already shown concrete interest, ready to make an offer between 15 and 20 million euros. The final choice will be up to the club from the capital. Abraham is currently tied to Roma by a contract expiring on June 30, 2026. The next transfer window will therefore be decisive to understand if his path will continue away from the capital.

Rangers ace Vaclav Cerny on European club's summer shortlist
The 27-year-old Czech international is currently on loan at Ibrox from Wolfsburg and has impressed during his time in Glasgow. Since signing under Philippe Clement last summer, Cerny has scored 17 goals and made seven assists across all competitions. His performance has led to calls from Rangers fans for the club to make his transfer permanent in the next window. However, it is believed that Rangers do not have an option-to-buy clause in their loan agreement with Wolfsburg. This means they would need to negotiate a deal with the Bundesliga side if they want to keep Cerny. A potential obstacle for Rangers could be Wolfsburg's asking price. The German club paid £8 million for the attacker just two summers ago and would likely want to recoup most of that amount. This could prove challenging for Rangers' summer recruitment budget. Meanwhile, Takvim reports that Turkish club Besiktas are seriously considering a move for Cerny ahead of next season. Managed by former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Besiktas have reportedly been monitoring Cerny for several months. The club is said to have Cerny at the top of a three-man shortlist as they look for a new winger. The report also names AZ Alkmaar's Ernest Poku and Sassuolo's Armand Lauriente as players of interest.

Rangers star Vaclav Cerny emerges as No. 1 target for Euro giants as UCL winner adds winger to his three-man shortlist

The Czech Republic winger, 27, joined Rangers on loan last summer and has been a standout player for the Light Blues in what has been very underwhelming season for the club as a whole. Rangers fans have been crying out for the wide-man to pen a permanent deal so he stays in Glasgow beyond this campaign. Reports have suggested the Ibrox club agreed a buy-out clause with the Bundesliga side during negotiations over the season-long loan last summer. However, SunSport understands that's NOT the case and Gers will need to re-enter talks with Wolfsburg over a fee if they are interested in signing him. Wolfsburg paid £8million to sign him from FC Twente in 2023 and it's believed they want to recoup the money they spent on him two years ago. Their high valuation of the player could prove a major stumbling block for Gers which could leave with deja vu after they missed out on Abdallah Sima last season in a similar situation, who Cerny came in to replace. And it's unlikely Wolfsburg will budge in their demands as other clubs are also circling the Cerny. One club that is seriously considering a move for the wide-man is Turkish giants Besiktas. The Istanbul outfit, managed by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, have been keeping tabs on the player for a number of months and reports in Turkey now suggest he's at the top of their shortlist following his involvement in the dismantling of rivals Fenerbahce in the Europa League. Taksim claim Cerny is on a three-man shortlist as the Man Utd legend steps up his hunt for a new winger in the summer. Rangers manager Barry Ferguson breaks his silence on the row over Vaclav Cerny's 'water spraying' Old Firm celebration controversy It's said the 27-year-old is the number one target, with AZ Alkmaar's Ernest Poku and Sassuolo's Armand Lauriente also on the agenda. The Black and Whites currently sit in fourth place in the Turkish Super Lig with four games left to play, which will see them enter the qualifiers for the Europa Conference League next season. They're two points behind third-placed Samsunspor with a game in hand though so Europa League football next season is still a possibility. Besiktas crashed out of the tournament in the league phase this season following a woeful run under ex-Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was axed before the end of the campaign. They won just three games out of eight, losing the other five. Van Bronckhorst was sacked in December and Solksjaer took the reigns in January.
