Dubbed as 'The Traitors meets Race Across the World', Destination X sees contestants travel around Europe onboard the X-bus and asked one simple question - where the X are they? With blacked out windows, all they have to do is try and figure out where they are, competing in challenges (some secret) along the way, because at the end of every episode they must place an X on a map and guess their location. Whoever puts their X furthest away from the location is immediately thrown off the X-bus and eliminated from the competition. However, the winner will return home with a cash prize of £100,000 – who is your favourite so far? Are there any other versions of BBC Destination X? See if you can watch in the UK But if watching the new UK series isn't enough, there are others that might interest you too. The BBC's format is based on a Belgian show called Bestemming X, which first aired in 2023. Over the last few years, there have been various versions of the puzzling reality show in other countries, such as the Netherlands, France and Germany, NME reports. Who is Rob Brydon? Additionally, an American version of Destination X was commissioned at the same time as the UK's, which was announced as a joint deal between NBCUniversal and the BBC. The US edition (also titled Destination X) is presented by The Walking Dead favourite Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Sadly, those in the UK aren't currently able to watch the various Destination X series mentioned above. Bestemming X is available on Dutch streaming service Videoland, but this isn't accessible for UK viewers without a VPN. Recommended reading: However, although nothing has been confirmed yet, it could be possible that the US' Destination X (currently available on Peacock), will eventually come to BBC iPlayer. Destination X on BBC One review: this travel show can't beat Race Across The World
This new reality series (which has been lifted from Belgian show Bestemming X) follows 16 Brits who meet in a German airport. Thirteen make it through an initial challenge and take off in helicopters wearing VR headsets so they don't know which direction they're travelling in. When they land in an anonymous location, they board a coach without blackout windows. None of the contestants know where they're going, although the odd clue lend the contestants – and us playing along at home – an idea as to their whereabouts. Rob Brydon is the games master, popping up next to random lakes and on the in-bus TV screens to dish out the team's latest cryptic tip-offs as they try to work out which part of Europe they're in.
