Coronation Street's Beverley Callard, 68, showcases her huge leg tattoo in skimpy denim shorts after adding to the 'growing' inking

Coronation Street star Beverley Callard showcased her giant leg tattoo as she uploaded a clip to Instagram on Thursday. The soap actress, 68, who starred as Liz McDonald on the ITV soap, was seen standing in her kitchen wearing a pair of skimpy denim shorts. But as her husband, Jon McEwan - who she has been marry to since 2010- walked towards her, fans were able to catch a glimpse of her extended inking. She has added a sixth magnolia to the 'growing' bloom of flowers which creeps up her lower leg. The design features purple, blue and red flowers with pretty petals winding their way up her calf from her foot. It's not the first tattoo for the soap star, with Beverley previously revealing she got her first inking at 59. The actress had comedy and tragedy masks inked over a music score along with a red love heart in tribute to her husband Jon. The couple's names are written in the love heart along with 30-10-10, their wedding anniversary. Before tying the knot with Jon, Beverley was married to Steve Callard from 1989 until 2001, David Sowden from 1980 until 1988 and Paul Atkinson for three years from 1974 until 1977. Beverley has previously revealed that she's planning to go under the knife because she's 'scared of not getting any work'. Talking about her plans to have a facelift, Beverley told The Sun: 'I am going to do it, yes. It's difficult because our industry is so sexist and ageist, still.' She continued to reflect on how many films have husbands who are much older than their wives, saying the wives are usually 'stick insects… and their faces don't move'. 'I'm just going to join that because I'm scared of not getting work,' she added. The actress is thought to be intending to have the work done at London's Harley Street Skin Clinic. Despite being quite determined to have the surgery, her husband Jon and children Rebecca, 46, and Joshua, 32, are not said to be very keen. Beverley brushed off their concerns, saying she 'hates mirrors' and hasn't got much confidence about her appearance, preferring to play a role than appear as herself. She also detailed Jon's response to her facelift plans while on Melanie Blake's Girl Talk podcast in March, saying: 'Jon really doesn't want me to have it done. 'But I'm going to do it and I am doing it for me.'

Coronation Street's Beverley Callard shows off huge leg tattoo in tiny shorts

Former Coronation Street star Beverley Callard has revealed a rather large tattoo covering the lower part of her leg as she posed in a pair of tiny shorts during the recent heatwave A former Coronation Street star has revealed a large tattoo taking up most of their leg. Actress Beverley Callard, known to millions as The Rovers Return landlady Liz McDonald, has been making the most of the scorching temperatures which have swept across the UK in recent days. ‌ Beverley, 68, also gave fans a glimpse at a rather large tattoo which covers the majority of her lower right leg as she posed in a pair of tiny denim shorts in a bid to keep cool as temperatures soared, while standing in her kitchen. The actress completed her look with a loose-fitted white t-shirt and a pair of chunky black sandals. ‌ But it was the rather large tattoo which cascaded down from her kneecap to her foot which caught the attention of fans. The inking featured pink, blue and red flowers which certainly stood out. It comes after David Beckham speaks 'as a father' in 'family' announcement after latest Brooklyn snub ‌ The Mongolia-themed floral inking was Beverley's second tattoo, as she had previously been inked with comedy and tragedy masks, as well as a love heart and music score – a tribute to her husband Jon McEwan, as well as their wedding anniversary – October 30, 2010. Sharing the clip on social media, it featured Jon returning home from work, leaving Beverley completely speechless. "Oh my God," she said as she turned around from the kitchen countertop. While his face was covered by muck, Jon was dressed in all black, as he said: "I have had a day." Beverley responded: "I don't believe it," as she filmed her husband, who was covered head to toe in muck. "Oh, you stink," she quipped, adding that he smelt of burnt rubber, explaining to her husband that she was filming him for social media. Beverley's social media post comes after it was revealed she'll be taking part in Help! My House is Haunted. The series, created by Discovery+ sees a team of paranormal experts help six famous faces left worried by the paranormal world. Ian Lawman, Barri Ghai and Jayne Harris hope to "uncover the chilling secrets that are lurking in their homes." ‌ Last year, Beverley shared a clip of her home on social media, with many fans believing that there could have been ghostly activities in her home. The actress shared a video on Instagram, which she believed shows two orbs floating in the room. She captioned the eerie clip: "HELP!! What the hell is this? My ring camera in the barn alerted us at 1am this morning. What are the two orbs? @jonmmac55 armed with a baseball bat went to investigate!! Nothing there, upon returning checked the camera and they were back. OMG! I'm scared. Any help greatly appreciated." ‌ Fans were quick to offer their advice, with one suggesting: "Lock it up and never go in there again," while another observed: "There are 4 orbs, 2 on the left, very active unsettled spirits." A third suggested: "It's spiders on their web." However, Beverley was quick to dismiss the spider theory with a follow-up post. In a second video, captioned "No spiders web, I'm moving", she showed her husband Jon McEwan investigating the area to ensure everything was safe. He stated: "Just to clear it up since Beverly wouldn't come in today. All of you saying cobwebs and spiders, nope nothing. So, no, I think it could be a ghost!" Another fan advised: "You can't leave Norfolk, we live here it's a beautiful place. Send the dogs in next time," while another joked: "Time to get the investigators in, just in time for Halloween."

Coronation Street star Beverley Callard, 68, shows off her huge leg tattoo in tiny denim shorts

CORONATION Street legend Beverley Callard flashed her huge leg tattoo as she posed in tiny denim shorts. The Liz McDonald actress, 68, gave a glimpse of the body art stretching across her lower right leg as she stood in her kitchen. 6 6 6 Bev was clearly making the most of the hot weather in her thigh-skimming shorts and white top, tying her blonde curls into an up do. The Corrie favourite finished off with a pair of brown strappy sandals. Yet it was her pink, blue and red floral inkings, spanning from her right knee to her ankle, which commanded attention. The ITV soap star's magnolia-themed inkings were her second piece of body art, after previously having comedy and tragedy masks along with a love heart and music score in tribute to Jon McEwan. It also features their wedding anniversary date, 30th October 2010. Meanwhile, Bev's video clip showed the hilarious moment her husband Jon returned home from work. She was standing at her wooden worktop before turning around and exclaiming: "Oh my god!" Dressed in all black and with dirty smears over his face, he said: "I have had a day," before she exclaimed: "I don't believe it." She then said: "Come here Jon, come here. Oh my God. Coronation Street's Beverley Callard looks worlds away from glam Liz McDonald "Just turn to the side," before he showcased more mud on his cheek. Bev continued: "Oh you stink you stink of burned rubber." He replied: "I have cut the bumper or in the boating world, we call it the rubbing streak." To wrap the witty video Bev said: "I love you," to which he said: "Thank you, what's not to love." Coronation Street's 2024 shock exits Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let's break down who's left the famous soap: Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany. The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza's grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life. Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes. After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite was devastated to learn he only had months left to live. Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering. Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America. Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul's impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full. Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles. The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend. Simon's been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy. Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child. It looks likely she'll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind. Show stalwart Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end. Her character left the Street after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. In her caption, she then put: "POV: Your husband 'works on the boat' and comes home looking like this." One fan was quick to post a host of laughing Emoji icons as another put: "Hilarious." Giving a light-hearted insight into her life, Bev previously shared a cheeky snap showing her naked in bed with her husband. OFF SCREEN Back in 2021, Bev - who quit the ITV soap in 2019 - looked worlds away from her glam soap character as she helped to renovate the pair's boat. Bev swapped her character's daring leopard-print wardrobe and heels for a hoodie and a make-up free complexion as she proudly showed off her purchase. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and wore paint-stained trainers as she got stuck into her latest project. At the time, the boat was moored on the picturesque Norfolk Broads. Bev wrote in her lengthy caption: "So here we are… so much has been done since we've last updated you! We've been busy! "Especially.. but now I can start helping! We thought we'd bring you along to mark out where everything is going to be.. swipe across to see more! "It's all coming together now and we're so excited!" Amid the renovation and move to Norfolk, it was revealed she's got a new side hustle teaching fitness. The actress does the new gig for free, and instead just asks local women donate £5 a session to charity. Beverley is well known for being a fitness fanatic and previously released workout videos and even taught classes at the height of her fame. 6 6 6

Coronation Street legend, 65, reveals he's been rushed to hospital after suffering two nasty falls

Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson has revealed he's been rushed to hospital after 'falling twice.' The actor, 65, is best known for his role as Jim McDonald in the ITV soap, and regularly appeared opposite Beverley Callard, who played his on/off flame Liz. Posting a video on X, Charlie shared that he was sent to A&E during a physio appointment and is now awaiting 'further tests' after an MRI. He told his followers: 'Hi folks, went to physio this morning and she sent me straight to A&E, which I did. 'They examined me. I have an MRI scan and I'm sitting waiting for the results. 'They've whisked me back in for more examinations so it's not going awfully well at the moment. Anyway, I'll keep you updated. 'They put a wristband on me and all sorts of craic. I've fallen over twice, so something going wrong down there.' Charlie's fans were quick to offer their well-wishes, writing: 'Sending lots of love and positive thoughts; 'Well sounds like you're in the right place! Hopefully they'll sort you out quickly; 'Wishing you all the best Charlie. Get well soon!' Despite being one of Corrie's biggest stars when he joined the soap in 1989, Charlie revealed earlier this year that he's now so skint he can't affort to put his heating on. The Irish actor revealed that 2024 was his worst ever year in the entertainment industry and he claimed was even cancelled by the BBC after they said he had 'anti-trans views'. The financial woes were also impacted by the closure of his wife Debbie's farm shop in Prestbury, Cheshire, which left them facing legal action over unpaid debts of nearly £50,000. Speaking on The Nolan Show, Charlie confessed: '2024 is the most unsuccessful year I've had in 44 years. 'And there are a lot of issues to do with that. I've got lots of white hair, I'm 64 and there are less parts around.' Asked how he pays the bills, he told host Stephen Nolan: 'I work for GB News at the moment and I've got to renegotiate that contract next year and my wife Debbie runs a women's refuge.' Explaining the couple couldn't afford to put the heating on he continued: 'I'm in the living room with my shooting gear on because I'm a field sportsman and because I can't have the heat on all day and it's Baltic over here.' He admitted: 'You have lean times, I mean last year the heat was on all the time in the winter, this year it will not be.' Charles, who has been with Debbie more than 15 years, explained he is lucky she has a job but that they still have to watch what they spend. He added: 'Debbie is manager of a women's refuge, she has a wage. I have a wage at the moment until January so we're all right but we haven't been abroad this year, we don't eat in The Ivy when we go back to Belfast. You cut your cloth. 'I live 50ft from a local bar in my village - The Rodney so I don't have to get a taxi there, I can walk there and get a tab. 'There are a lot of people worse off than me. We have two incomes coming into the house - they're not huge but we're better off than an awful lot of people.' As host Stephen asked him why his work has slowed down, Charlie claimed he was cancelled by the BBC after they believed he was anti-trans. He explained: 'People in my industry won't admit this, but it is about your beliefs, your standards and what you speak about on social media, that all has an effect.' Explaining he was due to appear on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip but was pulled from the job, he said: 'About 18 months ago I lost a job, a daft job but a job nonetheless -Celebrity Antiques Roadshow because I had joined with Sharron Davies and Kellie-Jay Keen from the Let Women Speak movement which was basically speaking up for women in sport. 'The campaign that was running from various sections of the community, straight women, lesbian women - they were getting things thrown at them in Hyde Park and all the rest - these idiots in balaclavas and all the rest of it. 'And I joined the Let Women Speak movement and I put some tweets out in support of Sharron Davies and all Sharron stands for in women's sports and Kellie-Jay Keen having the guts to speak up for what she believed in. 'And my agent received a letter from the BBC saying "we can't use Charlie because he's anti-trans and that's the truth and if they want to deny it I've got the email so there you are. 'That's what they said - I couldn't do Celebrity Antiques Roadshow because I was considered anti-trans. 'I laughed initially when my agent informed me and said 'Are you serious?' And then I got very angry and then I left it alone because I was tempted to take it a bit further but having talked to my wife and friends in the industry and my agent I decided I would just leave it.' The BBC confirmed the official lineup for the show was announced in October and Charlie wasn't on it. They disputed the claim that Charlie received any letter and explained that not all conversations with potential celebrities lead to bookings. Meanwhile it isn't the first time Debbie and Charlie have struggled financially after their farm shop went bust in 2018, eight years after opening with the star previously admitting they had no choice but to 'pull the plug'. Opening up in his autobiography That's Life, So It Is, Charlie penned: 'Poor Debbie was finding it increasingly difficult to make the business work as well as it had been, and it was starting to drag her down and make her ill. 'We had several long talks about what we should do, and couldn't help but arrive at the same solution. 'But Debbie couldn't give up on our little business and it was breaking her heart. 'Eventually, the figures just didn't make sense at all. She was losing money every day but more importantly her health and mental well-being was suffering. 'In the end, myself and the accountant said she must pull the plug before something awful happened.' According to documents obtained by The Mirror last June, Charlie has missed deadlines to repay £37,000 from the 2018 failure of his deli. Debts at Prestbury's Farm Shop had passed £50,000 with liquidators' fees of £14,500 included, and Jim was reportedly being threatened with legal action over the unpaid funds. Money was owed to a turkey farm, wine suppliers, an energy company and other companies based as far away as France. Liquidators claimed that Lawson and his wife Debbie 'may be unfit to be involved with managing the affairs of a company in the future'. In the documents, HMRC said: 'During the period of this report, no further monies have been received in respect of the payment of the costs of the liquidation. 'To date, the sum of £3,160 has been paid and the balance is being pursued. As a response was not received from the guarantor, solicitors have been instructed to collect the amount owed. 'Based on current information, regrettably, there is little likelihood of any funds being available to pay a distribution to unsecured creditors.' Charlie first set up the company in 2010 with partner Debbie and was often seen behind the counter serving artisan cheese, meat and game. His agent told the publication that 'the matter is in hand and ongoing.' Charlie has struggled with money woes in the past, and in 2001 he had to declare himself bankrupt, owing almost £200,000 to the Inland Revenue and financial companies.
