Anusha Dandekar Reacts To Bigg Boss Rumours: 'Never Stepping In That House'

Last Updated: Anusha Dandekar denies joining Bigg Boss Season 19, stating she was never contacted. She prefers her current work and teases a new project. With every new season of Bigg Boss, there are a few things you can count on like drama, unexpected evictions, and rumours about Anusha Dandekar joining the show. Every year, her name comes up as a potential contestant and Season 19 is no exception. But once again, Anusha is setting the record straight. 'Honestly, I have no idea why my name keeps coming up!" she tells News18 Showsha exclusively, when asked why speculation around her participation refuses to die down. 'I've made it very clear that I'm never going into that house. I should be getting paid by them for all the free promo I've been giving without ever stepping in!" So, have the makers ever actually reached out? 'Never. Not even a call. I think they know I'll slip out midway!" she laughs again. 'But really, if they're going to keep using my name for attention, I deserve a cheque at this point." That sounds like a hard no from Anusha, and she confirms it: 'Yup. It's just a personal choice. I think people who do that show are incredibly brave. But, me? Not interested. It's not my thing." What about other reality shows — something like Khatron Ke Khiladi, perhaps? 'They've asked, yeah. But again, not something I want to do. I love what I do already, and I just want to keep doing that." So while Bigg Boss fans might have to finally put those rumours to rest, there's still more coming from Anusha. 'I can't say yet… but you'll see me soon!" she teases. Anusha Dandekar makes a comeback to screens with Hunter Season 2, where she steps into the shoes of a full-blown action hero. The series, led by Suniel Shetty, takes the stakes higher this time around. Anusha Dandekar is an Indian-Australian MTV VJ, actress and singer, who is best known as a VJ and a host who has hosted several shows. She moved to Mumbai in 2002 at the age of 19 to pursue a career in entertainment. She began as an anchor on MTV's House of Style and went on to host shows like MTV Dance Crew, Teen Diva, News, and Love School. In 2008, she won the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Award for Best VJ. She made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with Mumbai Matinee, followed by Viruddh (2005) alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt, earning a Best Debut Award at the Maharashtra Times Awards. She later appeared in Miss Bollywood and Anthony Kaun Hai? (2006), and made her Marathi debut in 2012 with Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha. In 2014, she became a judge on India's Next Top Model with Lisa Haydon and returned as a mentor in 2017. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Devoleena Bhattacharjee exposes, slams ‘musician, engineer and mother' who mocked her 7-month-old son's skin colour: ‘Bhavishya kis disha ja rahi hai'

Social media is, at times, a very toxic and draining place where some bluntly spew hate on others. What makes it even more infuriating is that such people are often not made to pay the price for their actions, thus enabling them to go on fearlessly. And needless to say, celebrities are the ones who mostly end up being these trolls' favourite punching bag. Although most prefer to ignore such comments, television actor and Bigg Boss alum Devoleena Bhattacharjee recently decided not to simply turn a blind eye to such vile remarks, particularly when they targeted her infant son. Furious over comments mocking her seven-month-old baby's skin tone, Devoleena took to her Instagram stories to name and shame the trolls, thus taking a strong stand against it. Ever since the birth of their baby, Joy, Devoleena and husband Shanawaz Shaikh have never missed a chance to share glimpses of their happy moments on social media, thus delighting their fans as well. Recently, she shared a new batch of photos with her little one, noting just how much Joy has changed her. '7 months of holding my heart outside my body. From those tiny fingers wrapping around mine to sleepless nights filled with snuggles — every moment has been pure magic. You've turned my world into a soft, beautiful chaos I never want to escape from. Here's to growing together, one giggle, one cuddle, one milestone at a time. You, my little love, are my greatest journey,' she wrote. Although most comments the photos received were positive, with people expressing their genuine happiness and love for them, some took the opportunity to showcase their colourist mentalities and, in some cases, religious bigotry. Enraged by such comments, Devoleena later took to her Instagram stories to expose their identities and give them fitting replies. Reacting to the Instagrammer who called her son 'little aatankwadi', she wrote, 'Yeh hai so-called musician. And yaa doggo enthusiast. Bhagwan inse jude sabhi musicians ka bhala karein and dogs salamat rahe. Yeh apne apko tag mention nahi karne dete par dusro ke posts par apni low life ki manasikata bakhoobi darshate hai (He is a so-called musician. And he is a dog enthusiast. May God bless all the musicians associated with him, and may the dogs remain safe. He doesn't let you tag him, but he shows his low-life mentality very well on others' posts). Devoleena Bhattacharjee fiercely hit back at trolls who made offensive comments about her 7-month-old son Joy's skin tone after she shared his birthday pictures. The actress not only gave strong replies but also exposed the users who spread hate.#Devoleena #TellyMasala — Telly Masala (@tellymasala) July 29, 2025 To another person's vile remark, she replied, 'Yeh engineer hai Delhi se. Kis cheez ki engineer yeh toh yehi jaane. Itne paise kharch karke engineer banne ke baad bhi zindagi aur soch dono nahi sudhar paayi bechari. In jaise agar engineer hain toh samajh jao bhavishya kis disha ja rahi hai (He is an engineer from Delhi. Only he knows what kind of engineer he is. Even after spending so much money to become an engineer, his life and thinking did not improve. With engineers like him, then realise in which direction the future is going).' Responding to a woman who made fun of her child's skin tone, Devoleena wrote, 'Ab inke liye kya bolu. Yeh khud ek maa hai jaise hi aap sab inke profile mein dekhi hi sakte hai. Bas inka baccha innke iss bimari ka shikar naa bane bhagwan se yehi prarthana karti hun (Now what should I say for her. She is a mother herself as you can see in her profile. I just pray to God that her child does not fall prey to this disease).' Renowned for her role as Gopi Modi in the soap opera Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Devoleena was also a part of Bigg Boss 13, 14 and 15.
