Fact Check: Watch out for digitally-edited photo of Lauren Sánchez
Claim: A picture authentically depicts journalist Lauren Sánchez, Jeff Bezos' fiancee, with large lips and cheekbones enhanced by plastic surgery. Rating: In late May 2025, an allegedly authentic image of former news anchor Lauren Sánchez, billionaire Jeff Bezos' fiancee and founder of aerial film company Black Ops Aviation, circulated widely online. The picture spread on X, Threads and Facebook. Similar pictures purporting to show Sánchez's plastic surgery alterations also spread online. (X user @DailyLoud) However, this image is fake — as are the related pictures above. A comparison with legitimate photos of Sánchez on Getty Images credited to several different photographers show that the fake picture circulating greatly exaggerates her actual lips and cheekbones. Someone either digitally edited the image or used artificial intelligence to generate it — or both. (Getty Images) It is unclear who made the image; a reverse image search largely returned the authentic image, rather than the altered one, making the source of the image difficult to determine. Snopes reached out to Daily Loud, one of the largest X accounts posting the fake picture, to ask about the origins of the picture. This story will be updated if they respond. It is worth noting the "before" picture that often accompanies the digitally altered image of Sánchez appears to be an authentic photo of her from 2003. Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Katy Perry were among the celebs celebrating in Paris for Lauren Sanchez's hen do ahead of her nuptials with Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos. The couple began dating in 2019 before businessman Bezos, 61, popped the question to Black Ops Aviation founder Sanchez, 55, in 2023. Little details are known about the big day, but Bezos previously rubbished claims that it was set to cost $600million (£452m) and would take place in Aspen, Colorado. Before walking down the aisle, Sanchez joined her loved ones for a low-key dinner in Paris with the intimate group, which included Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria. The group dined at Lafayette's Paris establishment last night before enjoying a glitzy shopping trip in the French capital today. She shared a picture with the group on Instagram, writing: 'Forever starts with friendship, surrounded by the women who've lifted me up, illuminated my path in dark times, and shaped my heart along the way.' October Gonzalez was among those in attendance, who is married to Sanchez's football player ex, Tony Gonzalez, with whom she shares son Nikko, 24. Businesswomen Elsa Collins and Natasha Poonawalla, producer Lydia Kives, sports commentator Charissa Thompson, and marketing executive Veronica Smiley Grazer completed the group. Sanchez looked every bit the bride-to-be, wearing a short white dress, matching heels, and a statement fur coat to the dinner. Another snap showed Sanchez posing alongside Jenner, Kardashian, and Perry, whom she joined earlier this year on her controversial Blue Origin flight into space. Kardashian's appearance comes as she testified in court this week for her 2016 Paris robbery trial. A source close to the star told MailOnline: 'Spending girl time at Lauren's bachelorette was a great way to end the week after testifying. She's glad it's over, but thankful she was asked to testify as part of the trial.' Opening up on the proposal in 2023, Sanchez admitted she 'blacked out' when Bezos asked her to marry him. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are expected to walk down the aisle next month where they have reportedly booked Elton John and Lady Gaga to perform at their nuptials Jeff Bezos' fiancée Lauren Sanchez was joined by Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Katy Petty on hen-do in Paris. The American journalist is getting ready to walk down the aisle next month where she will tie the knot with the Amazon founder. However, she is making sure to celebrate right up until the special day as she's been spotted in Paris alongside her A-list pals. Singer Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, Eva Longoria and October Gonzalez were among the recognisable faces. The Black Ops Aviation founder took to her Instagram page where she shared images of the special occasion. The group went to Lafayette's Paris restaurant in Paris for a meal where they enjoyed dishes including fried chicken, Caesar salad, Norwegian smoked salmon and mushroom rigatoni. Sharing a pic of her girl gang, Lauren wrote: "Forever starts with friendship, surrounded by the women who've lifted me up, illuminated my path in dark times, and shaped my heart along the way." Lauren was also joined by Elsa Collins, Natasha Poonawalla, Lydia Kives, Charissa Thompson and Veronica Smiley Grazer." Lauren looked stunning for the occasion as she wore a white mini dress while holding a glass of champagne. Meanwhile, Katy stood next to her friend in a glam pink gown along with Kim behind them who wore high waist trousers with a bandeau top. Meanwhile, Kris beamed for the camera while wearing a black dress and also drinking a glass of champagne. Other photos featured actress Eva as she enjoyed the meal alongside her friend. Kim commented under the post: "Love you so much!" While Zoe Saldana commented: "Congrats beautiful lady!!! Sending blessings your way!," and Brooks Nader gushed: "The queen!!!!!!!" Lauren and Amazon boss Jeff are reportedly due to get married next month on a Venetian island. It has been said that Lady Gaga and Elton John have allegedly been booked to perform but this has not been confirmed. An estimated 200 people are due to go to the nuptials, with many already booking to stay at the best luxury hotels. Guests are thought to include members of the Kardashian/Jenner family, Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as Donald Trump reportedly receiving an invite. The couple first went public with their relationship back in 2019 before getting engaged in May 2023. Jeff is said to have popped the question on board his $500million superyacht. The pair got engaged after both admitting to having an affair with each other. Jeff divorced his wife of 25 years Mackenzie Scott in 2019 and Lauren split from husband Patrick Whitesell who she married in 2005 and shares a son and daughter with.

American pop superstar Katy Perry has returned to Earth after a groundbreaking journey into outer space — and she's giving fans a front-row seat to the experience. In a video shared on Instagram, the singer-songwriter offered a glimpse of her space flight aboard a Blue Origin rocket, where she floated weightlessly alongside an all-female, star-studded crew. Joining the pop icon on the historic flight were Lauren Sánchez, fiancée of Bezos and founder of Black Ops Aviation; Gayle King, award-winning jouralist and co-host of CBS Mornings; Aisha Bowe, former NASA rocket scientist and founder of STEMBoard; Amanda Nguyen, astronaut, Nobel Peace Prize nominee, and prominent civil rights activist; and Kerianne Flynn, a film producer. The NS-31 mission, launched on April 14, marked the 11th human spaceflight under Blue Origin's New Shepard program. With the successful return of its all-women crew of six, the program has now flown a total of 58 people to space — including four individuals who have made the journey twice.

Jeff Bezos to launch fiancée, Katy Perry and Gayle King into space
Blue Origin owner Jeff Bezos plans to launch an all-female crew into space that includes pop star Katy Perry, journalist Gayle King and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez. Also aboard the New Shepard rocket will be former NASA scientists Aisha Bowe and Amanda Nguyen, along with film producer Kerianne Flynn. The flight is scheduled to take off some time this spring, Blue Origin announced in a press release. The space travel company credited Sánchez for bringing the 'mission together,' saying it's intended to challenge the crew's 'perspectives of Earth, empower them to share their own stories, and create lasting impact that will inspire generations to come.' Sánchez, a news reporter, author and actor, has worked closely with Bezos on many projects over the course of their near seven-year relationship. She's also a licensed pilot who founded Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and production company. She and the billionaire Amazon founder have been engaged since May 2023, though no wedding date has been announced. Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, founded Blue Origin in 2000. The company completed its first manned-mission into sub-orbital space in 2021, with Bezos himself onboard. Also on that flight were his older brother Mark, 82-year-old aviator Wally Funk and 18-year-old Oliver Daemen, who scored his ticket when an unnamed auction winner backed out of collecting his prize. The rocket launched from West Texas and traveled about 66 miles into the air before returning to Earth. Blue Orbit gave few technical details about the Sánchez-led NS-31 flight. It will be New Shepard's 11th flight to carry humans and 31st overall. The exploration company says it has flown 52 people above the Kármán line, which is the internationally recognized border before space.
