Ex-UFC star Darren Till open to competing for PFL: 'I would actually love a bash at it'

Ex-UFC star Darren Till open to competing for PFL: 'I would actually love a bash at it' Darren Till is exploring other options for a potential return to MMA. Till meets fellow ex-UFC fighter Darren Stewart May 16 in a boxing match, which headlines Misfits Boxing 21 in Derby at the Vaillant Live. Till is still interested in a return to the cage. While a UFC comeback is what's been on his mind for the past couple of years, there's been some recent developments. "I'm not too old in the sport," Till told Bloody Elbow. "My body's not broken, even though I've obviously had trouble with my knees. But I'm fresh. I don't feel like I have any case of that CTE. I pronounce my words properly. I've got a solid brain on myself even though I know I say some mad things sometimes. That's just public persona – obviously I'm a mad c*nt, but I don't think I have any early signs of CTE, or I hope not. 'So I might go back. Depending on things, I might try my hand at the PFL, have a little go. I speak to them quite a bit, and look, if the UFC want me back, then let's see what happens with all that. I've spoke to the PFL, and I like the way they do their organization. I would actually love a bash at it. It just depends then if the UFC would have me back after that. I don't know. I think I still have a few years left in me." Till was most recently seen in action in January when he defeated Anthony Taylor by Round 6 TKO under the Misfits Boxing banner. He's 2-0 in exhibition bouts since parting ways with the UFC following a submission loss to current middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282 in December 2022.

Georges St-Pierre praises 'complete package' Belal Muhammad ahead of UFC 315

Georges St-Pierre praises 'complete package' Belal Muhammad ahead of UFC 315 Georges St-Pierre had high praise for UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. Muhammad (24-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) makes his first title defense against Jack Della Maddalena (17-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) May 10 in the UFC 315 headliner (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) at Bell Centre in Montreal. Muhammad has reiterated the phrase, "GOAT is the goal," as he looks to surpass former nine-time UFC welterweight champion St-Pierre. "GSP" complimented Muhammad's well-rounded style. "Belal is the complete package," St-Pierre told Bloody Elbow. "He's good everywhere and he's got a very awkward style that throws a lot of people off, especially standing up in the striking department. Jack, on the other side, he's on a tear. He's got a good momentum, he's on a winning streak and it's going to be an interesting fight. "On one side, Jack – I think could have the advantages in the striking department. But it's not only a kickboxing match – it's mixed martial arts, and that's when I believe if I'm Belal Muhammad, that's where you take advantage of it. I think he's got more tools to win, but that doesn't mean that he's going to win." St-Pierre doesn't look at Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena as just a grappler vs. striker matchup, but explained what makes Muhammad so effective. "It's always about cracking the code, and he's the champion for a reason," St-Pierre said. "Nobody has cracked the code so far and Belal's style is very aggressive. He puts a constant forward pressure and he makes guys fight on their heels. He's very good at changing levels and changing the momentum of the fight and that's his main asset. That's his bread and butter. Jack, on the other side, is a very good striker."

Inside Eddie Hall's incredible body transformation as Brit ditches 12k-calorie-a-day diet to drop 45KG for MMA debut

EDDIE HALL has shed a whopping 45kg ahead of his professional MMA debut. The 2017 World's Strongest Man fights five-time winner of the competition Mariusz Pudzianowski in tonight's KSW 105 in Poland. 7 7 7 Hall has undergone an incredible body transformation for the clash, ditching his famous 12,000-calorie-a-day diet to be a lean machine in the octagon. The Staffordshire-born star weighed around a staggering 195kg (31 stone) during his World Strongest Man days. But when stepping onto the scales for his face-off with Pudzianowski last night, Hall tipped them to 150kg (23 stone, eight pounds). It completed a stunning 45kg (seven stone) turnaround from when he was at his heaviest. Meanwhile, Pudzianowski came in at 120kg (19 stone) for tonight's dust-up. Hall has shed the pounds by going on a strict diet and it has helped him reduce his weight from 170kg (26 stone) when his preparation started. The 37-year-old told Bloody Elbow: "I just eat nothing but meat, eggs and dairy on the carnivore diet for this fight prep. 'It's been a pretty good diet, helped me to maintain all of my muscle mass and I've dropped body fat. JOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS "My energy levels are through the roof, my endurance is insane so that's pretty much been the diet. "I've not restricted what I eat at all, I eat as much of it as I want. Eddie Hall faces off against Mariusz Pudzianowski in pre fight press conference 'I feel good and the main thing about it is that with my training, it's not about the weight but how fit I am. "Am I doing these four-minute rounds and being able to recover within 90 seconds to go again? "At the minute, I can say yes. I've got no intention to lose too much weight because the cardio is there.' Despite the stunning transformation, Hall made fun of his size during the weigh-in by sticking his stomach out towards his 48-year-old rival, who claims he does not have the fitness for an MMA bout. Hall used to hit the 12,000 calorie mark daily but cut down to 10,000 after retiring from Strongman competitions. He previously told SunSport that doctors demanded he stopped his old eating habits as he was too big and at risk of "heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and liver failure". 7 7

Georges St-Pierre on Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall UFC title fight: 'Nobody beats time'

Georges St-Pierre on Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall UFC title fight: 'Nobody beats time' Georges St-Pierre finds it hard to bet against UFC champion Jon Jones, but knows father time exists. Jones (28-1 MMA, 22-1 UFC) is expected to unify his heavyweight title with interim champ Tom Aspinall (15-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) this year, but an announcement is yet to be made. Many view Aspinall as perhaps Jones' biggest threat, and the former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion thinks it'll come down to how motivated Jones is. "I mean, you talk about legacy, Jon Jones is probably the best fighter that ever lived," St-Pierre told Bloody Elbow. "If I have to choose someone in his prime that I put in the Coliseum, hand-to-hand, I think it would be Jon Jones. It's hard to deny that. However, nobody beats time and Tom Aspinall is on a hell of a run so, it's to see how they're going to match." Jones has been vocal about his reluctancy to face Aspinall in the past, arguing that he would have nothing to gain by beating another hot name. He opted to make his first title defense against the consensus greatest heavyweight of all time Stipe Miocic, finishing him by Round 3 TKO UFC 309 this past November. Four months prior, Aspinall defended his interim title with a first-round TKO of Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. If the fight does materialize, St-Pierre hopes Jones gets the pay he deserves. "It's hard to say. As a fan, I want to see this fight," St-Pierre said. "I would really like to see this fight, but I think Tom is very hungry, and it's up to Jon to see if he still wants to do this, and if the UFC can compensate him good – because I think he deserves it. So it's going to be a hell of a fight."
