Saif Ali Khan talks about competition from within the film industry: 'You're just happy the other person's there...'
Saif Ali Khan shared that the concept of a 'hero' has evolved to include flawed, relatable characters, enhancing storytelling. He emphasized healthy competition on set, focusing on the film's success rather than rivalry. Saif also acknowledged natural insecurities and praised his 'Jewel Thief' co-star, Jaideep Ahlawat. Saif Ali Khan , who recently starred in Jewel Thief : The Heist Begins, talked about how the portrayal of a 'hero' has changed over the years, highlighting the shift in what viewers expect and how film narratives have evolved. Evolution of the 'Hero' in Cinema As reported in Bollywood Bubbles, Saif discussed the evolution of the concept of a 'hero.' He explained that while the idea of heroism hasn't completely changed, it has expanded to recognize heroic qualities even in flawed characters, which makes storytelling more interesting. Saif expressed his happiness about this shift, viewing it as a positive sign of growth in both character development and audience perception. The Power of Layered Characters The actor also highlighted that characters with multiple layers have a stronger ability to connect emotionally with the audience. He explained that since no one is perfect and everyone experiences both good and bad moments, capturing these complexities makes a character far more powerful and relatable. This approach contrasts with the traditional portrayal of flawless, almost angelic heroes commonly seen in Western cinema and earlier Indian films. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pensioners Can Buy These Electric Cars in Petaling Jaya - See Prices Here! Impact of Human Flaws on Screen He explained that when a hero experiences moments that are less than perfect, such as snapping at his son or displaying very human flaws, it has a much stronger emotional impact on the audience. These kinds of realistic portrayals are rare on screen, which makes them resonate on a deeper level. He expressed his appreciation for this positive change in storytelling. Saif on Competition in the Film Industry Saif shared his thoughts on competition within the film industry. He believes that the primary focus should always be the success of the film, and in that sense, there is no rivalry on set because everyone is committed to contributing their best. At the same time, he recognizes that acting is naturally competitive, with characters often vying for prominence in the story. However, Saif emphasized that this competition is healthy and constructive, rather than harmful or driven by insecurity. Praising Co-Stars He acknowledged that there have been times when he felt competitive or insecure, emphasizing that such emotions are natural since everyone is human and the profession can be challenging. However, he pointed out that, in most situations, the primary focus remains on the film itself, with competition centered around the importance of one's character. He also expressed appreciation for his 'Jewel Thief' co-star, Jaideep Ahlawat . Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . Mimoh Chakraborty opens up about being rejection from a film on last minute
Mahaakshay Chakraborty revealed he was dropped from a film just two days before shooting, despite signing the contract and receiving payment. He emphasized that rejection is common in acting and requires resilience. Mimoh continues attending auditions regularly, believing roles suit only characters that align with his true self, like in 'Khakee'. Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali 's son Mahaakshay Chakraborty gained recognition for his performances in 'Haunted 3D' and 'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter'. In a recent interview, he shared an experience where he was removed from a film role just two days before filming began. A Last-Minute Drop from a Film In a chat with Bollywood Bubbles, Mimoh shared a deeply hurtful experience of being dropped from a film role at the last moment. He revealed that he had already signed the contract for the film, which felt like a special birthday gift since the offer came just a few days before his birthday and his father was also involved. Mimoh was excited and had even received the signing amount. However, just two days before the scheduled shoot, he received a call informing him that the filmmakers had decided not to include him in the project anymore. This sudden rejection was a tough letdown for him. Facing Rejection Without Explanation He explained that he was removed from the project without any reason, despite having personally signed the contract. At the time, he was in a good mindset, regularly going to the gym and feeling focused, so the sudden rejection came as a shock. Mimoh believes that an actor's heart must be as strong as iron or steel to endure such setbacks because without that resilience, survival in the industry is difficult. He emphasized that rejection is an actor's closest companion and must be accepted as part of the journey. According to him, rejection is different from failure-it simply means not being chosen for a particular role, nothing more. The Reality of Auditions He concluded by saying that he approaches every audition with the same energy and has visited the same casting office multiple times for different projects. He mentioned being called back three to four times for the same project, which gives him hope that he might get the role but often nothing comes of it. Even today, he continues to attend auditions regularly. He stated that his role in Khakee has not changed this reality; auditions remain a part of his life. He explained that during auditions, directors and producers determine if an actor fits the character, and just because he is Mimoh doesn't mean he will suit every role. He believes he can only portray characters that align with who he truly is, like Himel Majumdar in Khakee, which is why he was cast for that role.

Sooraj Pancholi , son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab , made his acting debut with the 2015 romantic action movie 'Hero'. He later appeared opposite Megha Akash in the 2019 action drama 'Satellite Shankar'. Recently, in his first podcast after being acquitted following a 12-year legal battle, Sooraj expressed doubts about Bollywood offering second chances and described himself as a newcomer to the industry. Doubts About Bollywood as a 'Second Chance Industry' Talking to Bollywood Bubbles, Sooraj discussed the idea of second chances in Bollywood and expressed doubt that the industry truly functions as a "second chance industry." He noted that many actors have faced numerous failures-sometimes as many as 15 flops-yet continue to receive new film offers. Operation Sindoor PM Modi meets NSA, chiefs of armed forces amid spike in tensions with Pak India's air defence systems shoot down Pak drones in J&K, Punjab & Rajasthan Several airports in India to be closed till May 15 - check list Drawing inspiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger 's life story, Sooraj highlighted how Arnold endured a difficult struggle trying to break into Hollywood, but eventually, one breakthrough film transformed his career, making him a global superstar. He believes that in life, whether it's a second, third, fourth, or fifth opportunity, the film industry is just one part of the bigger picture, and life itself presents many chances in various forms. Facing Stigma and Staying Motivated Addressing the stigma he faces following his legal battle, Sooraj admitted that such judgment is inevitable and will always persist. However, he views this as a driving force, pushing him to work twice as hard as before. He shared, 'I have to really perform and deliver twice as much as I could before. And in a way, it's good, because it's kept me so motivated. I really want to prove everybody wrong.' While acknowledging that he still has much to learn about his craft, Sooraj remains hopeful that with a few more films, he will reach a strong and successful phase in both his personal and professional life. Starting Fresh: A Newcomer's Mindset Sooraj described himself as a newcomer, feeling like he is starting fresh all over again. He emphasized that he has taken care of his mind, body, soul, and energy to prepare himself for this new beginning. For him, meditation meant going to the gym and sweating it out through weight training, boxing, and following a strict diet, which served as his way to relieve stress. He recommended this approach to anyone experiencing anxiety, stress, sleepless nights, or depression, explaining that sweating it out helps release not just calories but also stress. He believes this routine significantly reduces anxiety. Additionally, Sooraj mentioned that he continues to pray internally, often chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' as a source of inner strength and calm.
