A spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8.14am. 'Upon arrival at the scene at 8.23am, the team from the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station found an adult male on the roof of a shophouse building at MJC Batu Kawa,' he said in a statement. Bomba and police personnel apprehend the victim who was safely brought down. According to the spokesperson, the victim is in his 30s and works as a manual labourer. It is understood that the man was previously reported to have been at the same location at around 340am, but disappeared before the rescue team arrived. 'An operation to persuade and calm the victim was carried out in cooperation with the police, before the man was eventually apprehended and safely brought down at 10.18am. 'Once the situation was confirmed to be safe, the operation was fully concluded at 10.24am,' the spokesperson added. Two injured in pickup truck crash near Julau Stadium

BINTANGOR (May 30): Two Indonesian men were injured after the pickup truck they were travelling in was involved in an accident along the Pan Borneo Highway near Julau Stadium yesterday (May 29). Bintangor Fire and Rescue (Bomba) chief Mahmudin Narudin said they received an emergency call about the incident at 6.04pm. 'Upon receiving the call, a team of firefighters was dispatched to the accident site, which is located 40 kilometres from the station,' he said in a statement. When the team arrived, they found that one of the victims had managed to exit the vehicle on his own, while the other remained trapped inside. Firefighters immediately began rescue efforts and successfully extricated the trapped victim in about 10 minutes, Mahmudin added. One dead, another critically injured in Bintulu accident near Nyalau Bridge
BINTULU, May 30 — A man was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident near the Nyalau Bridge along Jalan Pesisir Bintulu-Miri yesterday. According to Samalaju Fire and Rescue (Bomba) chief Irwin Abidin, a team from his station was dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 1.59pm. The incident involved a white pick-up truck carrying two Indonesian nationals. 'One of the victims identified as Dafid Duanda Putra was found trapped in the driver's seat and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel,' he said in a statement. The second victim, known only as Ikhsan, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious head injuries. He was given initial treatment at the scene before being transported to Bintulu Hospital at 3.03pm. According to a statement from the Sarawak Operations Centre of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (Bomba), the accident involved a Perodua Axia compact car. The victims included a 15-year-old female teenager, three adult males aged 21, 32, and 60, and two adult females aged 30 and 56. All victims only sustained minor injuries and were not trapped in the vehicle following the accident. They managed to exit the car unaided, without the use of any rescue equipment. 'Upon the rescue team's arrival at the scene, it was confirmed that a single-vehicle accident had occurred involving a compact vehicle (Perodua Axia),' the statement read. JBPM further reported that three of the injured were transported to Hospital Sri Aman via Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), while one adult male and one female were conveyed by Ministry of Health (KKM) ambulances.
