Timothee Chalamet and celebrity Knicks fans are causing team's Madison Square Garden problems, claims radio host

New York sports radio host Boomer Esiason has claimed the Knicks' home playoff struggles are due to the celebrity presence at Madison Square Garden. While the Knicks have gotten to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years, they're just 3-5 at Madison Square Garden this postseason. And after they pulled off a massive Game 3 comeback in Indiana, Esiason theorized that the team prefers playing on the road. 'I think they're sick and tired of all the damn celebrities at home,' Esiason said on WFAN. 'They'd rather get away from all that.' This Knicks playoff run has drawn a slew of celebrities to the Garden, including die-hard fan Timothee Chalamet, Larry David, Team USA gymnast Suni Lee and longtime supporter Spike Lee in his customary courtside seat. Chalamet has also been seen in the stands with his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and her sister Kendall Jenner, while the actor has commonly sat with fellow Knicks superfan and actor Ben Stiller. And while the Knicks have struggled at home in these playoffs - dropping two games to the Pistons, one to the Celtics and two to Indiana thus far - they've been tremendous on the road. Following their 106-100 Game 3 win on Sunday, the Knicks improved to 6-1 in road games this postseason. And in Chalamet's defense, he was in attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse cheering on his team during their 20-point comeback. The 'Dune' star was also seen cheering on the Knicks in Boston during their series vs. the Celtics, and celebrated wildly with the thousands of fans in New York after the Knicks clinched the series in Game 6. Chalamet's Knicks fandom has taken such precedence during this run that he skipped the Met Gala (which Kylie attended) to watch the Knicks' 108-105 comeback win over the Celtics with his friends. Kylie has not been at a Knicks game with her boyfriend Chalamet since he invited her to watch Game 4 vs. the Celtics on May 12. The likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Murray, Michael J. Fox, Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara, Jordyn Woods and Jelly Roll have also been spotted at MSG of late. The Knicks will play at least one more home game this series, but not until Indiana host Game 4 on Tuesday and look to seize a 3-1 lead in the series. Game 5 will be back at Madison Square Garden on Thursday while Game 7 - if necessary - would occur on Monday, June 2.

Boomer Esiason blames the ‘damn celebrities' for Knicks' playoffs struggles at MSG

The Knicks have struggled at home throughout the playoffs. Who's to blame? Is it Tom Thibodeau? The players? Well, WFAN host Boomer Esiason has chosen his scapegoat for the team's 3-5 mark and MSG this postseason. 'I think [the Knicks] are sick and tired of all the damn celebrities at home,' Esiason said on the air on Tuesday. 'They'd rather get away from all that.' Whether it's the celebrities or just the sheer size and passion of the New York sports market, playing for a Big Apple team has another level of pressure and distraction. On Monday, former Knick and current Timberwolves star Julius Randle spoke on the noise that comes with playing for the Knicks. 5 Boomer Esiason believes the overwhelming number of celebrities at Knicks home games could be hurting the team. WFAN/Boomer and Gio Show 'It ain't fun. You can't really focus on the game, you're focused on everything else other than the game itself,' Randle told Yahoo Sports. 'You're living and dying with every single shot, every single turnover, every single loss.' Spike Lee, Suni Lee, Timothee Chalamet, the Kardashians, Ben Stiller — you name them — MSG's 'celebrity row' is always overflowing with huge names. 5 Timothee Chalamet (L) and Ben Stiller (R) have had their Knicks fandom on full display throughout the playoffs. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post 5 Olympic gold medalist gymnast Suni Lee at Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. AP And when they're courtside and being consistently shown on game broadcasts and the in-arena Jumbotron, they're hard to ignore. The Knicks are in the midst of their best playoff run in quite some time. This is the team's first Eastern Conference finals trip since the 1999-2000 season, when the team fell to the Reggie Miller-led Pacers. 5 Knicks fans have not witnessed a home victory in the Eastern Conference Finals yet. Aristide Economopoulos for NY Post However, they have yet to turn MSG into a true home-court advantage this postseason. In their 4-2 series win against the Pistons, just one of the Knicks' wins came at home. In the second round against the Celtics, they dropped Game 3 at home after stealing the first two on the road, but won Games 4 and 6 at MSG. Entering the conference finals with home-court advantage, the Knicks collapsed down the stretch in Game 1 and lost in overtime before dropping another tight one in Game 2. They then followed that up with a statement road win in Game 3. 5 Jalen Brunson looks on disappointedly during the Knicks' Game 2 home loss to the Pacers. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post The Knicks are 6-1 on the road in these playoffs. When you pair the celebrities with the championship-hungry New York fan base, perhaps Esiason has a point.

Cleared for takeoff: Juan Soto flies on Mets plane, contrary to chatter

BOSTON — Yes, Juan Soto flies on the team plane with the rest of his teammates, multiple New York Mets team sources confirmed on Monday, refuting a misinterpretation from WFAN morning host Boomer Esiason. On Sunday night's ESPN broadcast of the Mets' rubber game with the Yankees, play-by-play announcer Karl Ravech referred to the ancillary perks in Soto's $765 million contract with the Mets, which include the team assisting Soto's family with travel to road games. Esiason interpreted this to mean that Soto himself travels separately from the club, which is not the case. Advertisement Soto's tepid start with the Mets — he owns an .822 OPS but has struggled with runners in scoring position — has inspired plenty of body language interpretation, especially over the weekend during his return to the Bronx. Soto has explained why the 'Soto Shuffle' has been absent from his repertoire early in the season, and why he's spent time chilling in the bullpen with relievers. Inside the Mets clubhouse, there hasn't been any concern about how Soto is fitting in during the first year of his 15-year deal with New York. (Top photo of Juan Soto: Al Bello / Getty Images)

Caleb Williams' Attitude Strongly Questioned by Former NFL MVP on Friday

The Chicago Bears surrounded Caleb Williams with a litany of targets in the passing game the past two offseasons, giving hope for the former USC Trojans quarterback to become one of the most productive and successful QBs in the league this season. Williams had a solid rookie season on the stat sheet with over 3,500 yards passing, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions, but still took tons of heat from social media commenters and media pundits as the Bears failed to make the playoffs in year one. Advertisement On Friday, a tirade from former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason surfaced during which he used colorful language to describe the Bears QB's mannerisms and attitude with the team. "You're going into the greatest league that there's ever been for the sport we all love. You're going to have a chance one day to make $500 million because guys like me and guys before me all went on strike so you could actually make more money. "So keep your piehole shut and go and play football and earn your keep and earn your respect," Esiason said. Esiason appeared to respond to past tense comments from Caleb in a book called 'American Kings: A Biography of the Quarterback" by Seth Wickersham. Advertisement In the book, Caleb's father Carl stats that "Chicago is the place quarterbacks go to die. "Do I want to get there?" Williams reportedly wondered aloud in the book. "I don't think I can do it with (former Bears offensive coordinator Shane) Waldron." Fans had a large variety of comments under the video, which received over 384 thousand views as of Friday afternoon. "Caleb Williams is everything everyone thinks Shedeur is," one fan said. "Caleb Williams is a bust," another said. "It's not even Caleb, it's his dad saying everything," another said. "He's wrong. Him defending (former Bears coach) Matt Eberflus shows he's wrong on the situation," another fan said. Caleb Williams' New List of Dietary Restrictions Makes Waves on Social Media

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had a great season for a rookie statistics-wise in 2024, compiling over 3,500 passing yards and 20 touchdowns against six interceptions with former coach Matt Eberflus' team. Williams did not deliver the amount of wins that Bears fans expected as the Windy City's only NFL team finished with 5 wins against 12 losses on the season. Advertisement Yesterday, former NFL MVP Boomer Esiason, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, took Williams to task over comments in a recent book titled 'American Kings: Biography of the Quarterback," during which Esiason told Williams to "shut his piehole" over fears that he wouldn't be able to win with the Bears prior to being drafted. On Saturday, Williams' latest dietary restrictions were revealed by an NFL reporter who revealed the impressive steps the former USC Trojan is taking to improve his body composition and energy levels. Advertisement Williams also must avoid tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, potatoes, beans, lentils, chickpeas, soy products and several other foods if he hopes to follow the TB12 diet to a tee this offseason and beyond. The list's views count was listed at 287,000 on Saturday night. "Then what the hell is he eating?" one fan said. "Mmmm delicious bowls of ice," another added. "This is really something we should all do but can't afford," another said. Brady won seven Lombardi trophies combined with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers under coaches Bill Belichick and Bruce Arians while making the diet famous through his books, audiobooks and media interviews. Advertisement Williams has been roundly criticized since entering the league with sky high expectations out of Lincoln Riley's USC program. The Bears added more weapons for Williams this offseason including former Michigan tight end Colston Loveland with the 10th pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
