'Selfless' mum wants to live life to fullest after devastating diagnosis
A 'KIND hearted' and 'selfless' mum of a two-year-old is fundraising for essential costs to prolong her life after she was given a devastating cancer diagnosis. Zoë Handscomb-Edwards, 44, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in March 2023, when she was 16 weeks pregnant with her first child, Penelope. The news came after she attended the doctors with what she thought was a pulled muscle in her leg. This was later diagnosed as an extremely rare PEComa. To donate to the GoFundMe, click here. The diagnosis followed an ultrasound and MRI, but she could not undergo any further scans due to her pregnancy. Zoë, who works for the RNLI and lives in Bournemouth, said: 'Hearing somebody say those words, it was like my world just dropped away. READ MORE: "That's what I say was the worst day of my life - when we just left the hospital and they had no information for us. All I knew was that I was going to be referred to the sarcoma clinic. "From then on, it was incredible. Every single bit of NHS support that I've had from that point has been absolutely first class". Zoë and Rob's daughter, Penelope, has now turned two years old (Image: Zoë Handscomb-Edwards) Shortly after giving birth to her daughter in July 2023, Zoë underwent a PET scan where she was told she had six months to two years to live due to the cancer spreading to her lungs, hip, neck and lower back. Despite the odds and a stage four diagnosis, two years later, Zoë is living her life to the fullest with an admirably positive attitude, supported by family and friends and in particular, her husband, Rob. Zoë said: 'I don't know how much time I've got. Everything could change in 10 days or I could have 10 years - they don't know. "I just put one foot in front of the other and I've got this amazing support around me. "This whole thing has made me realise how resilient I am and how people can be." She has also stepped out of her comfort zone by sharing her story publicly on her Instagram page, hoping to support others in similar positions. She particularly wants to help those with the same, ultra-rare diagnosis and raise awareness of the help available to those living with cancer. Zoë said: 'Macmillan has been amazing and - there's so much support out there and there's so many incredible people, and I think when you first get diagnosed, it's so overwhelming and you don't get told all these things. Zoë continues to be positive (Image: Zoë Handscomb-Edwards) "You have so many questions about what this means and who am I going to be, what does my life look like and how long is my life going to be? You need support from people who can help you navigate that." Rob has now set up a GoFundMe page on behalf of Zoë, to raise essential funds for drugs, therapies and treatment to ensure she does not go without the expensive care needed over the upcoming months and years. In particular, Zoë wishes to raise money to help her create memories with her family, making the most of every moment. Rob said: 'Zoë is so much more than her diagnosis. She is the most loving, kind-hearted, and selfless person I know. Even before her diagnosis, Zoë was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. 'Whether it was supporting friends through tough times, volunteering in the community or simply offering a listening ear, Zoë's generosity and compassion have touched so many lives. "Now, it's our turn to rally around her.'

Chelsea set transfer price for forward Liverpool chief agreed deal to sign
The future of Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea remains uncertain after the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro as the Blues have reportedly set their price for the Senegalese striker The Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes tried to sign Nicolas Jackson while in charge of transfers at Bournemouth. That move didn't materialise, but now the Chelsea forward could be on the move again. The 24-year-old has enjoyed two respectable seasons at Stamford Bridge, scoring 31 goals in 80 games across all competitions. Yet doubt has remained over whether Jackson can become the striker needed to fire Chelsea to the biggest trophies in the game, leading Enzo Maresca to sign Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer. Jackson saw minimal action during Chelsea's triumph of the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this month, having not featured at all in the quarter-final against Palmeiras and the final against Paris Saint-Germain, with Joao Pedro now first choice. With the striker's future in west London seeming rocky, the Blues have outlined their price to sell the ex-Villarreal man - a cool £80million. Jackson has interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia, but with eight years left on his contract, Chelsea remain under no pressure to sell the striker. Among his potential suitors are Manchester United, who've allegedly contacted his agents to sound out a possible move. Sky Sports add that it was Liverpool's £79m agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Hugo Ekitike that acted as a benchmark for the fee Chelsea are demanding for Jackson's signature. Jackson's superior goal contributions over the past two seasons - in a league Blues bosses believe is tougher than the Bundesliga - has led them to their assessment. Jackson has racked up 34 goal contributions over the last two Premier League seasons, five more than Ekitike's 29 during his entire spell with Frankfurt. And while the Frenchman is set to be the Reds' new striker, Jackson was once a top target for Hughes during his days as the sporting director of Bournemouth. During Jackson's tenure at Villarreal, he caught the eye of Hughes who agreed a £20.3m fee to sign for the striker for the Cherries in January 2023. It was another south coast club in Southampton that looked set to buy Jackson but a move failed to materialise thanks to Hughes' intervention. A deal looked almost complete following footage of the striker boarding a private jet to the UK in order to wrap up negotiations. However, due to a hamstring injury that was discovered in his medical, Bournemouth opted to cancel the transfer. Given their position in a relegation battle, the club decided against waiting for Jackson's return from injury in the worry that they'd lose their Premier League status. That didn't happen either, but come the following summer Hughes missed out, and Jackson went to west London instead.

PSG preparing to step up negotiations for sought-after Premier League star
When PSG first targeted Illia Zabarnyi, they knew they were pursuing one of the Premier League's most intelligent and disciplined young defenders and they hoped to complete the transfer before their Club World Cup campaign even began. The 22-year-old Ukrainian had become a key figure at Bournemouth last season, starting 35 league games and playing a major role in helping Andoni Iraola's side finish 9th on the table. According to multiple reports, PSG submitted a formal €60m [$70m] offer earlier this summer, which was promptly rejected by the Premier League side as they continued holding firm on their €70m [$81m] valuation of the defender who arrived from Dynamo Kyiv in 2023. Although no new offer has gone in since then, Les Parisiens have already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Zabarnyi who has expressed his desire to join the Ligue 1 champions in time for the new season. With Lucas Beraldo unsettled due to his lack of minutes and possibly looking for a move away, PSG believe Zabarnyi fits both short-term needs and long-term squad balance especially after their treble-winning campaign added new pressure to sustain success in Europe. Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now stepped into the negotiations personally, according to RMC Sports. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp The move clearly shows how the 2024/2025 Champions League winners are intending to resolve the gap and push over the finish line without delay. Tottenham also eye PSG target While Paris are preparing to resume discussions, Tottenham Hotspur have made move of their own with Caught Offside reporting that Thomas Frank's side have spoken to Bournemouth and are ready to meet the full €70m valuation. However, the London club will have difficulty convincing Zabarnyi, who prefers PSG's sporting project. PSG are also set to receive funds from Hugo Ekitike's €95m [$111m] potential move to Liverpool via a sell-on clause which could allow them to match Bournemouth's demands without delay.
