A heat warning remains in effect for a fourth day, with the humidex expected to make it feel like 35 today. 'A multi-day period of heat and humidity conditions,' Environment Canada said in a statement on its website. 'Daytime high temperatures are expected to lower on Wednesday, bringing an end to the heat event.' The temperature warmed up to 33.9 C Monday afternoon, the warmest temperature of the past six days of above-seasonal temperatures. It will be mainly sunny to start today, then a mix of sun and cloud this afternoon. High 30 C. Partly cloudy tonight. Low 18 C. Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud a 40 per cent chance of showers. High 28 C. Thursday will be sunny. High 25 C. The outlook for Friday calls for sunshine and a high of 25 C. Saturday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High 27 C. The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 26 C and a low of 16 C.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain. Hazards include wind gusts of up to 110 km/h, torrential rainfall with amounts possibly in excess of 50 millimetres and nickel-sized hail. Forecasters says the storms could form this evening. 'Utility outages are possible. Significant damage to property, buildings and trees is possible,' the weather alert says. 'Be prepared for severe weather. If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.' Hot summer temperatures returned to Ottawa today, with the humidex expected to make it feel like 43 in the afternoon. Environment Canada says 'hot and humid conditions are expected' over the next five days, with temperatures ranging from 26 C to 34 C until Monday. The forecast calls for a high of 34 C today, with the humidex making it feel like 43. According to Environment Canada, temperatures will jump from 19 C at 7 a.m. to 25 C at 9 a.m. and 30 C by 1 p.m. The warmest temperature recorded at the Ottawa Airport on July 24 is 34.4 C, set back in 1989. Ottawa will see a mix of sun and cloud today. High 34 C. Increasing cloudiness this evening with a 70 per cent chance of showers. Low 22 C. Environment Canada lifted the heat warning for Ottawa and eastern Ontario late last night. The temperature hit 33.3 C on Wednesday, with the humidex making it feel like 44. On Tuesday, the temperature warmed up to a record 35.2 C. The forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud today. High 28 C with the humidex making it feel like 30. Partly cloudy tonight. Low 17 C. Thursday will be cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers. High 23 C. It will be mainly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers on Friday. High 20 C. The outlook for Saturday calls for mainly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers. High 23 C. Sunday will see a mix of sun and cloud. High 29 C. The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 25 C and a low of 15 C.

Environment Canada's forecast calls for a mainly cloudy day in Ottawa, with a 30 per cent chance of showers this afternoon. High 10 C. It will be mainly cloudy tonight with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Low 7 C. Saturday will start mainly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers. Environment Canada says it will clear in the afternoon. High 21 C. Sunday will be sunny. High 19 C. The outlook for Monday calls for sunshine and a high of 24 C. It will be sunny on Tuesday. High 28 C. The record for warmest May 13 in Ottawa history is 28.2 C, set in 1985. The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 18 C and a low of 7 C. Ottawa River The sunshine and warm temperatures in the forecast are expected to help stabilize water levels on the Ottawa River. The Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board says water levels are 'close to or exceeding' minor flood levels in all locations along the Ottawa River, including at Britannia and the Hull Marina. 'With the forecast of sunny weather and little precipitation over much of the basin over the next few days, water levels and flows are expected to remain stable or to slowly decrease over the coming week,' the planning board said in a statement on its website. According to the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board, water levels are expected to drop on Sunday at Pembroke, Britannia and the Hull Marina.
