Livid The Chase fans accuse Bradley Walsh of 'stitching up' contestant with two sneaky tactics to secure Jenny Ryan's victory
The Chase fans accused Bradley Walsh of 'stitching up' a contestant with two sneaky tactics to secure Jenny Ryan's victory on Monday's instalment of the show. Kerry, Ellena, Alex and Fraser joined forces to take on Jenny AKA The Vixen to get their hands on a hefty cash prize. Unfortunately the players didn't manage to win the money and Jenny ended up with £61,000. Those watching at home took to social media to point out two factors that will have helped her succeed. Some viewers pointed out that Host Bradley Walsh, 65, was asking the contestants much harder questions than The Vixen. 'What a p*** take that was. The questions for the chaser were simple.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'The Vixen flew through those!' 'Much easier questions for the chaser as per!' Meanwhile another was convinced that the speed of how Bradley asked the questions changed depending on who he was asking. 'Bradley asked the questions a lot quicker for the chaser than he did for the contestants #TheChase.' It's not the first time that viewers have been left fuming. The Chase fans took to social media to share their fury over allegedly 'fixed' questions while watching a recent episode of the ITV show. Michael, Francine, Amy and Jamie took to screens to take on Mark Labbett, AKA The Beast, in a bid to win a cash prize. Mark joined The Chase in 2009, but before starring in the programme, he had a very different job as a supply PE and mathematics teacher in Wales. In the latest general knowledge contest, viewers claimed that the questions being asked were very much geared in his favour, leaving contestants with a difficult battle. Host Bradley Walsh first asked: 'The International Medal for Outstanding Discoveries in Mathematics is more commonly known as what?' To which Francine said: 'He knows this doesn't he?' 'Of course he does, he's a mathematician,' Bradley replied. Moments later, he asked a sports related question which said: 'Which Middle Eastern country played in 2021 Rugby League World Cup?' And again, Mark knew the answer straight away as Francine confessed: 'Not a clue.' Unfortunately, she answered incorrectly and was booted out of the competition, while Mark got the correct answer - Lebanon. Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustration over what questions that she had to answer. Comments included: 'Funny how they give all the maths questions to the maths teacher Chaser. #TheChase.' 'Maths teacher gets maths question….. #TheChase,' with a gif of Cardi B saying 'that's suspicious.' 'Maths question followed by rugby question for the rugby-loving maths teacher Mark.' 'Maths teacher, maths question', alongside a confused face emoji.

Darragh Ennis' life away from The Chase with childhood sweetheart and second job
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase star Darragh Ennis, who is best known for his role as The Menace had originally been a contestant on the show back in 2016 before ITV producers invited him back to become a Chaser instead. Despite being the newest member of Bradley Walsh's Chaser army, Darragh is by no means a fresh face on the show, having made his formal debut back in 2020. Since then, he's made numerous appearances on the popular quiz programme and its spin-off show Beat The Chasers alongside co-stars Paul Sinha, Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan and Shaun Wallace, with very few proving to ever be triumphant against him. While the Irishman tends to keep closed lid on private affairs away from the series, he has in the past let slip on the show about personal matters, including his past job, co-star connection and childhood sweetheart wife. Darrah's TV debut Back in 2016, the Irish star appeared on the ITV programme as a player sporting long curly locks. He quickly impressed host Bradley Walsh and Chaser Paul Sinha, who hailed him as "very, very good" after he'd achieved £9,000 in the cash builder round. His exceptional performance later saw him invited back for a screen test in which he bagged the role of the newest Chaser, The Menace. In a past interview, he attributed his cool on-camera style for his success. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo previously, he reflected: "I did well on the quiz, but a lot of people do. I don't get stage fright. I don't get rattled by cameras or anything and a lot of people do. That can subtract a bit from how well their personality comes across. "So, because I had that advantage, maybe they just saw something and thought 'this fella is very relaxed on camera', which is a big part of the job. It's not just about knowing stuff. It's about being calm enough in the moment to recall everything quickly so I think just a combination of those things." Family life (Image: ITV) The TV star previously revealed that he studied at Maynooth University and that this is how he and his wife were first acquainted. Giving a brief glimpse into how they met, he told RSVP Live: "We did our degrees and PhDs there [Maynooth University]. We were in labs down the hall from each other and she's from Kildare." Darragh insists on keeping his private affairs out the spotlight, on the matter of privacy after being trolled online himself, the father-of-two told The Irish Mirror: "I have been keeping my family out of the limelight so my wife doesn't get involved, she doesn't want to. "And my children, I don't share photos of my children or anything like that. No one knows what my children look like or their names or anything like that." His Instagram profile instead is awash with pictures of bird feeders and the bee hives that are native to his Oxford home. Second job (Image: ITV) Darrah opted to maintain in his profession as a neuroscientist and entomologist alongside his commitments on The Chase. Opening up on his career, during his TV debut as a contestant back in 2016, he told Bradley Walsh: "I work in brain development and how insect brains grow and develop." Stunned, Brad asked: "How insect brains grow and develop?" As Darragh quipped: "Well we can't use people's brains so..." On a more recent episode, Darragh even revealed to the host that he would be "back in the lab on Monday," confirming that he was still in the industry despite his fame. Darragh's link to Paul Sinha before TV fame As a contestant on The Chase, Darragh also spilled that he and Paul Sinha shared a common connection before they were co-stars on the ITV show. When asked by host Bradley who he'd like to come up against, the Irishman firmly stated: "I'd like to play Paul because apparently he used to play in the quiz league that I used to play in." "You play in a quiz league?" gasped Brad as Darragh confirmed: "Yes a pub quiz," as Paul stepped out from behind the famous red doors to go head-to-head. The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm.

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Populat TV host Bradley Walsh has amassed a sizeable fortune from his successful career. Bradley has been at the forefront of The Chase since it launched in 2009. The ITV presenter invites contestants to showcase their general knowledge and vie for a substantial cash prize. He also presents a celebrity edition where famous faces aim to win money for their chosen charities. As he rings in his 65th birthday with close family and friends, we delve into what he earns from this top-rated TV programme. After spearheading the show for over 16 years, the father-of-two recently struck a new agreement to continue his stint on the ITV quiz show amidst rumours of his potential departure. (Image: ITV) Reportedly securing a pay hike from his previous £3.5 million earnings, Bradley, who also hosts a range of other programmes, is now considered ITV's highest-earning male presenter after Ant and Dec, reports the Express. An insider disclosed to The Sun: "Bradley is one of the network's most popular presenters and is hugely likeable. During negotiations for his contract to be renewed, bosses at ITV were concerned he might quit if he wasn't happy with his package. There was a real concern he might walk away." The beloved TV host is now raking in a cool £4 million a year to stay on as the face of The Chase, including a sizeable increase of about £500,000 to his pay packet. With this commitment, Bradley secures his spot at the helm of the quiz show for its 16th year on television, a move that has reportedly filled the production team with joy. An insider expressed: "The Chase is returning for its 16th year and Bradley is a much-valued host. Everyone at the show is delighted." Reflecting on why The Chase has outpaced rivals like The Weakest Link in the battle for viewers, Walsh shared his insights with Radio Times. (Image: ITV) He pointed out: "The Weakest Link was a good show, but the problem with it was it was constantly putting people down and not being very pleasant." On the contrast, Bradley praised The Chase's positive atmosphere, saying: "Our show is not like that. It's always a very uplifting show and you know we have a lot of fun." He also recalled the public's instant fondness for The Chase and how fans reached out to him with their comments. He shared: "The amount of people that came up and said, 'Hey Brad - we've seen your new show. The Chase is great. We really, really like it. It's the best thing we've seen for a long time. So much better than The Weakest Link, which we were up against at the time." The Chase is on ITV1 weekdays at 5pm and on ITVX

ITV The Chase star Bradley Walsh opens up on being 'sacked' from role
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Treasured TV presenter Bradley Walsh marked his 65th birthday this week, but despite hints at "slowing down", his busy schedule shows no signs of letting up. Walsh is a staple on British television, hosting popular shows such as 'The Chase', 'Gladiators', and 'Blankety Blank', as well as travelling the country with his son Barney in 'Breaking Dad'. However, before becoming a household name, Walsh began his career as a Rolls Royce apprentice jet engineer and even had a brief stint as a footballer with Brentford FC, until an injury cut his playing days short. Walsh's foray into show business began as a Pontins bluecoat entertainer, giving him his first taste of life on stage. However, his natural prankster tendencies, which often landed him in hot water at school and in previous jobs, ultimately led to him being sacked from this role. In an interview with earlier this year, Walsh recalled: "Once I left that to get into the entertainment industry and become a blue coat, I got sacked from being the bloke that was messing around. I thought that was the job! In the end I thought to myself, why don't I just get paid for messing around?". Post-Pontins, Walsh carved a career in stand-up comedy and remarked: "That was a very conscious decision. So, I've got myself a routine together," discussing his approach to humour. Reflecting on his style, he commented, "I was a very physical comic, bit like Norman Wisdom, not so many jokes. I was a very physical comic. And that's where it all started.", reports the Mirror. Celebrated across Britain, Bradley Walsh has been a staple on TV screens for over two decades, mastering roles in comedy, acting, and presenting. His notable roles include Danny Baldwin on the renowned ITV soap 'Coronation Street', DS Ronnie Brooks in 'Law and Order: UK' and as Graham O'Brien in the beloved sci-fi series 'Doctor Who' broadcast on BBC One, according to Gloucestershire Live. In 2009, Bradley transitioned to game show hosting by taking over as the host of ITV's hit quiz show 'The Chase'. He narrated how he landed the gig while popping into ITV to enquire about hosting opportunities. During a nostalgic chat with the ex-head of daytime television, she revealed plans for a new quiz show, to which Bradley promptly gave his critique. Recalling their conversation, Walsh shared, "I took it away and I said 'Yes, this can work, this will work' and she said, 'Okay, well we're going to make a pilot' and I said, 'I'll do it for you' and she said, 'Yeah, but it's only an office run-through' and I said, 'I'll do it for you, don't worry'." In an interview on the Tommy Tiernan show last year, Bradley Walsh recalled helping launch the pilot and coming up with nicknames for The Chasers. Nearly 16 years on, Bradley's passion for The Chase remains strong, with no plans to leave the show. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he reflected on his time on the programme: "Until people say they've had enough and start switching off, I'll do it. We've had such an extraordinary time together. It's the best job in the world."

READ MORE - Noel Edmonds in huge ITV comeback with help of Mr Blobby in major move READ MORE - Piers Morgan's wife has 'brutal one word dig' after Meghan Markle shares video New research by Betway has analysed factors such as accuracy, win rate, and highest target caught, to determine the best Chaser of all time. In terms of financial success, Paul Sinha comes out on top. Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha boasts a 78 percent win rate across 436 appearances on The Chase. His average target to beat is 19 and he holds the highest average Chaser win total, raking in £14,651, making him the most financially successful chaser on the show, according to Bristol Live. Meanwhile, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett has a 76 percent win rate over 475 episodes since his start in 2009. Labbett holds the record for the highest average target to beat, at 20, and the highest accuracy in the final chase, answering 83% of questions correctly. Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty is considered the top Chaser on television.
