Joel Dommett woke up in an ambulance after FAINTING at mile 17 during the London Marathon hours after the exhausted star shared a look at his hectic pre-race schedule

Joel Dommett has revealed he woke up in an ambulance after fainting at mile 17 of the 2025 London Marathon on Sunday. The comedian, 39, took to Instagram with snaps of alongside paramedics just hours after sharing a glimpse of his hectic schedule ahead of the iconic 26.2 mile run. Joel revealed that despite the scare he was able to finish the race after being forced to wait a few hours under medical supervision for his pulse to return to normal. He wrote: 'Not the race I expected! I fainted at mile 17 - don't really remember much but I woke up in an ambulance! Thanks to Frankie and Barry for being amazing'. 'I really wanted to finish it. After a few hours my pulse was back and I got going again at a very different pace but really got to soak it all in. Proud of myself for finishing'. Joel shared shared a snap of himself with his medal as well as a cute snap of baby son Wilder, who's babygrow had to be updated after the star failed in his hopes of crossing the finish line in three hours. It comes after Joel had left supporters floored as he revealed his exhausting schedule and his journey to the finish line actually began 24-hours earlier when he set off from his house in South West London. He proceeded to travel to Leeds for a comedy show before driving two and a half hours to Cambridge for the night. Joel had a brief six and a half hours sleep - with the assumption that he slept straight away on arriving in Cambridge - before getting up again at 6:30am on Sunday and leaving his hotel at 6:45 to travel to Greenwich roundabout. His schedule, written out precisely on a white board and shared on Instagram, doesn't end there as he then undertook a half an hour warmup run as he made his way to the starting line ahead of the marathon. He explained he needed to stick to his three hour time in order for son baby Wilde to be able to get an afternoon nap in the car ride home. Once home, if all goes to plan, Joel then has an ice bath and a meal scheduled before being picked up at 4:45pm to head to filming. Joel captioned the eye-popping post: 'Swipe for some terrible planning and excellent carb loading.' The schedule was one of several pictures relating to the event, including a snap of Joel's running gear, which revealed that he is completing the marathon in aid of Brain Tumour Support. The comedian floored supporters on Saturday after revealing his exhausting schedule ahead of the London Marathon Fans and celebrity friends were quick to flood the post with supportive comments. Brain Tumour Support wrote: 'That is one bonkers schedule Joel, thank you so much for your support in wearing our best with pride as you take on your challenge. 'We are all cheering you on and will be tracking you from afar.' A fan wrote: 'For a person who has had major surgery this year to remove parts of her brain tumour thank you Joel behind you all the way!' Referencing Joel's aim of completing the marathon in under three hours, Ben Sheppard added: 'Go smash the hell out of it Joel. Sub 3 Baby!!!!' Meanwhile, fellow marathon runner Bryony Gordon said she would be keeping Joel's schedule in mind when she begins to complain on her own run. She joked: 'Lol i'm saving this for when i start complaining at mile 14.' This is not Joel's first London Marathon and he actually took on the challenge last year while dressed as a piranha. Fans and celebrity friends were quick to flood the post with supportive comments, with fellow marathon runner Bryony Gordon said she would be keeping Joel's schedule in mind when she begins to complain on her own run He told TCS London Marathon: 'It was definitely the hardest marathon I've done. 'Really had to dig deep. Lots of shouting to myself. 'It probably weighs, I reckon, probably about 8kg, something like that. 'The hard thing was it [the costume] was just banging against my head the entire time.' Joel took to Instagram ahead of this year's race to admit that he's glad he will not be weighed down by a costume again.

Joel Dommett 'woke up in ambulance' after collapsing during London Marathon

Joel Dommett has shared a startling experience from his attempt at conquering the 2025 London Marathon, revealing he woke up in an ambulance after collapsing during the race. The comedian and Masked Singer host, aged 39, was among many participants taking to the streets of London for the iconic event. Before setting off, Joel had outlined an intense schedule: performing stand-up comedy in Leeds on Saturday evening before blazing back to London to tackle Sunday's marathon. His target was to complete the run in under three hours and reward himself with an ice-cold bath post-race. The television favourite even had plans to shoot for a project later on that very Sunday but had to press pause when things took a turn for the worse mid-run. Those tracking Joel's progress online were left puzzled when his updates ceased past the 15-mile mark. Joel later disclosed on Instagram that he lost consciousness around mile 17, leading to emergency intervention. Despite the scare, the resilient TV personality somehow soldiered on to finish the marathon, taking to Instagram to detail the harrowing ordeal. Posting on Instagram after eventually crossing the finish line, Joel recounted: "Not the race I expected! I fainted at mile 17 - don't really remember much but I woke up in an ambulance!", reports the Mirror. He expressed his gratitude saying: "Thanks to Frankie and Barry for being amazing. I really wanted to finish it. After a few hours my pulse was back and I got going again at a very different pace but really got to soak it all in. Proud of myself for finishing." Earlier on, images captured Joel receiving support from two mates as he powered through the Canary Wharf part of the marathon route. Additional pictures showed him visibly in discomfort post-finishing line. Joel completed the marathon with a time of 6 hours, 3 minutes and 27 seconds. Snaps reveal him beaming with a medal and a wide grin at the finish line but grimacing as he stepped away from the marathon excitement. Before hitting the pavement, Joel had called on supporters to contribute to his selected charity. On his fundraiser page, he penned: "I am challenging myself to run a sub 3 hour London Marathon this year before I reach 40 years old (eeeek! ). I'm doing it to raise vital funds and awareness of Brain Tumour Support." Elaborating on why he chose the charity, he added: "[Brain Tumour Support is] a charity close to our family's hearts after they supported my wife Hannah following her mum's brain tumour diagnosis. Anything you can donate will be so appreciated, thank you so much." In the lead-up to the event, Joel posted a snapshot alongside McFly's drummer Harry Judd, ready to face the challenge together. He captioned it: "HERE WE GOOOO! Pleasure to run with this dude @harryjudd." Following his announcement that he'd crossed the finish line, Joel received a deluge of supportive messages from fans. One supporter said: "Sorry your race didn't go to plan, hope you still make the schedule and get to your gig!". 'This Morning' frontman Ben Shephard dropped a line too: "What a challenge and awesome you got back up and finished! !" Meanwhile, telly favourite Nicky Chapman also left a note: "But you did it! ! Well done for finishing and now take it easy."
