‘Captain America: Brave New World' is now streaming: Where to watch
Grab that popcorn and plan the movie night because "Captain America: Brave New World," is now streaming. The Marvel superhero adventure, starring actors Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford, follows Sam Wilson (Mackie) as he takes up the Captain America shield in the wake of a global conspiracy that "puts him on a collision course with the fearsome Red Hulk," according to Disney. USA TODAY's Brian Truitt gave the film ★★½ out of four, writing that director Julius Onah's geopolitically tinged 'Brave New World' "is an unruly narrative that starts as a paranoia thriller (a la 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier') and devolves into a campy 'Hulk smash!' fest." However, Truitt praised Mackie, a 10-year veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying he "faithfully has taken the Captain America mantle from Chris Evans and given Cap new swagger and vulnerability." Captain America Brave New World: ‘Sam Wilson can be Captain America that Steve Rogers never was'— producers
Captain America: Brave New World marks a bold new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, now set for its OTT release, showcasing Sam Wilson's evolution from the Falcon to the new Captain America. Before fans witness Sam Wilson navigating a post-Avengers world, confronting global threats without super-soldier powers— this time from the comfort of their homes —producers shared with LiveMint how his version of Captain America stands out from Steve Rogers. Producer Nate Moore frames the story of Captain America: Brave New World as a defining moment for the character and the legacy of the shield. 'We love that the Disney+ series gave us such an opportunity to explore Sam Wilson and the interior life that he had and his relationship with Bucky Barnes,' says Moore. 'But, Brave New World is about him taking the mantle of Captain America and running with it while facing threats that are bigger than what we've seen in the past. We're putting Sam through the paces to prove to people, not only that he should be Captain America, but that he can be Captain America in a way that even Steve Rogers never was," Nate adds. Producer Kevin Feige shares, 'In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson is Captain America, and he has made the decision to unabashedly become Captain America. But what does it mean to be Captain America when you're not a super soldier, which we definitely know Sam Wilson is not, and in a world where the Avengers are not currently active?' Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford as US President Thaddeus Ross. When a meeting with Ross sparks an international incident, Sam must uncover a dangerous conspiracy and face off against the Red Hulk in a high-stakes global showdown. With a grounded tone reminiscent of The Winter Soldier, Brave New World dives into the political and moral challenges of being a hero in today's world. Captain America: Brave New World will be streaming exclusively in India on JioHotstar, starting May 28. The film will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. It was originally released in theatres on February 14.

‘Captain America: Brave New World' Ends Theater Run. How Much Did It Make?
Anthony Mackie in "Captain America: Brave New World." Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford's Captain America Brave New World has ended its domestic theater run. How much did it gross? The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie opened in theaters on Feb. 14 and made its digital streaming debut on April 15. Captain America: Brave New World will arrive on streaming on Disney+ this week. The official logline for the film reads, 'In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam (Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Ford). He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.' Rated PG-13, Captain America: Brave New World also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson. The film is directed by Julius Onah. As indicated by The Numbers' latest weekly theater count list, Captain America Brave New World ended its domestic theatrical run on Thursday, when it made $173 from 30 North American theaters to bring its domestic tally to $200,500. Combined with the film's international take of $213,9140,120, Captain America: Brave New World had a worldwide box office gross of $413,640,021 against a $180 million budget before prints and advertising, according to The Numbers. So, does that mean Captain America Brave New World was a profitable film for Disney-Marvel? Not exactly, considering on average that 50% of the ticket sales for most films go to theater owners. On top of that, there are the costs of marketing the film, which for a blockbuster superhero adventure — or any tentpole movie, for that matter — isn't cheap. Disney has not released information on the film's marketing costs. Anthony Mackie on the set of "Captain America: Brave New World." While Captain America has now had four solo movies, the character has also appeared in other Marvel Cinematic Universe adventures, namely the Avengers movies. Some of Cap's fellow Avengers, though, have turned up in the Captain America movies, which in one case in particular had a huge effect on the film's box office. The first character to play Captain America was Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), who led the cast of Captain America: The First Avenger. Released on July 22, 2011, Captain America: The First Avenger grossed $176.6 million domestically and $193.9 million for a worldwide box office tally of $370.5 million against a $140 million production budget before prints and advertising costs, per The Numbers. Captain America: The Winter Soldier — in which Evans' Rogers/Cap first teamed up with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon — was released on April 4, 2014. The film went on to earn $259.7 million domestically and nearly $454.7 million internationally for a global gross of $714.4 million against a $170 million production budget before P&A, per The Numbers. The highest-grossing Captain America movie by far, though, is Captain America: Civil War, which was released on May 6, 2016. The film was essentially an Avengers film where the fractured group split off into two factions. Captain America: Civil War not only featured Evans' Captain America but Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and several other Avengers stars. In addition, the film introduced Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther and Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Captain America: Civil War grossed $408 million domestically and $743.8 billion internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $1.151.8 billion against a $250 million production budget before P&A, per The Numbers. In total, the Captain America film series — including Captain America: Brave New World — has grossed $2.65 billion worldwide.

When is 'Captain America: Brave New World' Available for Free on Disney+? "Captain America: Brave New World" will be available to stream on Disney+ on Wednesday, May 28. How Did 'Captain America: Brave New World' Perform at the Box Office? "Captain America: Brave New World" is seen to have largely underperformed at the box office. Domestically, the film took in $200.5 million, and raked in a total of $415 million globally. While for a lot of movies these numbers would be impressive, they were incredibly soft for a Marvel blockbuster, particularly considering the production budget of $180 million. Reviews for 'Captain America: Brave New World' Sadly, along with not performing well at the box office, "Captain America: Brave New World is also one of the worst-reviewed movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a dismal 47% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. The critical consensus seems to be that while "Brave New World" has some good action, it's otherwise a boring, unfocused movie that takes too much homework in other Marvel projects to understand. For example, Jesse Hassenger of The AV Club writes that, "In keeping with the MCU's increasing insularity, the vast conspiracy is mostly just a collection of loose ends from other Marvel projects that doesn't add up to much." Likewise, Christy Lemire of FilmWeek writes, "This movie cannot settle down and be what it needs to be in the moment. It is trying to tie back to movies you don't like and don't remember." But there are reviewers who viewed "Brave New World" in a kinder light. Leonard Maltin, for example, writes that "The not-so-secret weapon this CAPTAIN AMERICA has going for it is Harrison Ford. Don't believe the nay-sayers out there: Brave New World is a 21st century Tall Tale, and if it takes two viewings to take it all in, so be it."
