'Golden' from 'Kpop Demon Hunters' OST tops British Official chart again

"Golden," the smash hit single from the original soundtrack of the Netflix animation film "Kpop Demon Hunters," has topped the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the second time. According to the chart unveiled Friday (local time), "Golden" reclaimed the top spot after beating "The Subway" by Chappel Roan, which took No. 1 on the chart in the previous week. "Golden" previously topped the chart for the first time two weeks ago. The song by the film's fictional girl group Huntr/x was sung by Ejae, a composer who trained at SM Entertainment; Korean American singer Audrey Nuna; and South Korean-born US artist Rei Ami. The track is the first K-pop song to reach No. 1 in 13 years since Psy topped the chart with "Gangnam Style" in 2012. "Golden" also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart of the United States earlier this week. Other songs from the soundtrack also performed high on the British chart, with "Soda Pop" and "Your Idol" ranking sixth and seventh, respectively. "Takedown" also came in at 35th. (Yonhap)

Rose's 'APT.' stays at No. 2 on British Official Singles Chart for 6th week

"APT.," the smash hit single from BLACKPINK singer Rose, held its No. 2 position on the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the sixth consecutive week. It remained in second place just behind Lola Young's "Messy," according to the latest chart released Friday, local time. Initially debuting at No. 4 in October last year, "APT.," featuring global pop icon Bruno Mars, has experienced a roller-coaster journey on the chart. After dropping to a low of No. 28, the single made an impressive comeback benefiting from the decline of Christmas carols early last month, climbing to the No. 2 spot and holding steady for six weeks. "Who" by Jimin of BTS ranked 23rd, staying on the chart for the 23rd week. It is the lead track of the BTS member's second solo album, "Muse," which explores the singer's search for inspiration. "Love Hangover," a prerelease track from BLACKPINK member Jennie's upcoming first full-length individual album, debuted at No. 64. Released on Jan. 31, "Love Hangover" explores the emotional turmoil of an irresistible yet toxic attraction. The song features American singer-songwriter Dominic Fike. (Yonhap)
