Tottenham AGREE deal to make Thomas Frank new manager as Spurs negotiate compensation with Brentford
THOMAS FRANK has agreed to become the new Tottenham manager. SunSport understands that following talks over the weekend, the Brentford boss is set to replace Ange Postecoglou imminently. 4 4 Frank, 51, wants to make the switch across London which will end his near-seven year spell with the Bees. The only matter left to discuss is the compensation package that chairman Daniel Levy must pay to G-Tech stadium chiefs. Spurs brutally sacked Postecoglou on Friday despite the Aussie ending their 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League last month. And Levy is moving quickly to appoint the Dane, who guided Brentford to a 10th place Premier League finish this season. Fulham manager Marco Silva and Bournemouth 's Andoni Iraola have been in the running but Frank is expected to become the fourth permanent Tottenham boss in the last four years. Frank joined Brentford in 2018 and after promotion to the top-flight less than three years later, he has made them an established Prem club. The Dane already wants to bring Bryan Mbuemo, 25, with him to North London with Spurs trying to hijack Manchester United's proposed deal for the Cameroonian winger. Although that could cost Levy up to £70million with a possible £10m compensation package for Frank, plus £60m for Mbuemo's services. That would test Totteham's financial power, especially as Mbuemo is thought to be demanding around £250,000 per-week in wages, which would make him the club's highest-paid player. But Spurs' victory over United in Bilbao does mean they can offer him Champions League football. Watch Thomas Frank's incredible Brentford speech after beating Newcastle Frank will also be tasked with a significant improvement in the Premier League following Tottenham's worst ever finish. Despite Postecoglou's European success, he oversaw a club-record 22 Prem defeats, which resulted in them coming 17th. 4 4

Liverpool to seal stunning £169m transfer as Bryan Mbuemo's staggering Man Utd wages leaked The latest transfer stories and rumours from around the Premier League Bryan Mbuemo (Image:) Here are the latest Premier League transfer stories on Wednesday, June 4. Liverpool to seal historic £169m double transfer Liverpool are on the verge of completing a major £169m double transfer that will see them break a Premier League record. Multiple reports now indicate deals for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez are done, with the former set to smash English football's transfer record. German publication Bild claim that Wirtz 'has already agreed terms' on a deal that could cost Liverpool up to £127m. That would usurp the £106.8m Chelsea paid for Enzo Fernandez in January 2023. The Reds are also are on the brink of announcing the capture of Kerkez for £42m. Journalist Rudy Galetti has reported Liverpool are "taking the last steps" to complete the deal for the Hungarian international. Galetti wrote on X: 'Liverpool are taking the last steps for Milos Kerkez. 'The deal is almost sealed between Liverpool and Bournemouth for - €50m plus performance-related bonuses as a final fee. Article continues below 'A five-year contract was already agreed upon with the player days ago.' Liverpool have made a swift splash in the transfer market since winning the Premier League title, with at least two more signings expected in the next month. Mbuemo's Man Utd wage demands emerge as clubs talk Bryan Mbuemo's Man Utd wage demands have emerged as the striker looks to earn five-times more than his current Brentford salary. The Times report Mbuemo wants £250,000 a week after informing United he would prefer to join them over Arsenal, Newcastle or Tottenham. One national media report has described his demands as "looking like a typo", given the huge increase in pay he is looking for. He is currently paid £50,000 a week. It emerged on Wednesday United and Brentford are now in club-to-club talks over the deal, with Brentford holding out for over £60m. United are hoping to be able to bring that figure down after already shelling out that amount on Matheus Cunha from Wolves. Journalist Ben Jacobs wrote: "Manchester United are now in club-to-club talks with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo. No bid yet. "£50m+ required as Mbeumo has a one-year option Brentford can trigger, alongside the 12 months left on his current deal, meaning they don't feel under pressure to sell." He added: "Brentford currently using £62.5m Cunha fee as a valuation yardstick but #MUFC believe a lower fee is possible, especially with Mbeumo keen on the move." Arsenal hold concrete talks for striker Arsenal have held "concrete talks" with RB Leipzig over £85m-rated Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko. Sky Sport Germany confirmed the news, with reporter Florian Plettenberg writing on X: 'As exclusively revealed, Arsenal have entered concrete talks with RB Leipzig over Benjamin #Sesko. Andrea Berta has all the information regarding the release clause, payment structures, etc. "So far, Arsenal are the only club in direct contact with Leipzig. Manchester United have shown interest in the player, but have not yet made contact with Leipzig." Arsenal are also interested in Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, who was previously on loan at Swansea before his career exploded in Portugal. The Gunners' number one target was Newcastle's Alexander Isak but that move is not happening. Tottenham only interested in big Son offers Tottenham will only listen to significant offers for captain Son Heung-min this summer amid renewed interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, the PA news agency understands. Son was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia two years ago, but rejected advances to stick around for the start of Ange Postecoglou's tenure. Postecoglou subsequently named Son as Spurs captain and last month the South Korean forward led the team to Europa League success to achieve his goal of winning silverware at the club. Speculation over Son's future has been rife during his 10th season at Tottenham and whilst the club triggered a 12-month option in his deal in January, he is set to enter the final year of his contract in July. Son will also turn 33 next month and was affected by injury problems during the 2024-25 campaign, but the Premier League club will only let their talismanic skipper leave for a significant transfer fee, PA understands. Spurs are set to visit South Korea again later this summer for pre-season – the third time in four years they have travelled to Son's homeland to prepare for a new campaign. Even though Son – who is currently on international duty – only managed 11 goals last term, which is his lowest return since his debut season, his global status offers enormous commercial value to the club. Son is not the only key figure with an uncertain future with no clarity over head coach Postecoglou, who remains in the dark as to whether he will get a third season at Tottenham. Man City agree Reijnders deal Manchester City have agreed a fee with AC Milan for Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. City are set to pay 55million euros (approximately £46million) for the 26-year-old, who has agreed a five-year contract to move to the Premier League. The formalities of the deal are still to be completed but it appears City have landed their first major summer signing. Reijnders was a bright spark in a disappointing season for Milan, who only finished eighth in Serie A, missing out on qualification for Europe. Reijnders, who joined the Italian giants from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023, scored 15 goals in 2024-25 and will bolster Pep Guardiola's midfield options following the departure of Kevin De Bruyne. Article continues below City will play their first match of the Club World Cup against Morocco's Wydad AC on June 18.

Man United pursuing move for £50m-rated Premier League star in addition to £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha - as Ruben Amorim begins summer rebuild after dismal season
Manchester United are pursuing an interest in Brentford 's Bryan Mbuemo even though Ruben Amorim will make Matheus Cunha his first signing of the summer. United have agreed terms with Cunha over a five-year contract with the option of an additional year, and are ready to hand him Marcus Rashford's No.10 shirt. However, they have yet to trigger the Brazilian's £62.5million release clause at Wolves which must be paid in three instalments of £20.85m over two years. United are expected to make a formal approach and Cunha could travel to Manchester for a medical before the end of the week. The 25-year-old will fill one of the two No.10 roles in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system, and Mbuemo is among the candidates for the other after United held initial talks with the Cameroon international's camp. Manager Thomas Frank admitted at the weekend that Brentford will listen to offers for Mbuemo, 25, who would cost around £50m plus add-ons. United are also in the market for a centre-forward, but it's understood that Chelsea have edged ahead of them in the race for their No.1 target Liam Delap who can leave Ipswich for £30m. United must sell to buy this summer after missing out on a £100m Champions League windfall. They landed in Kuala Lumpur on Monday on a post-season tour that will earn the club £8m. A number of forwards will be allowed to leave including Alejandro Garnacho, Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho. Bruno Fernandes is still considering an offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal worth £200m over three years. United are desperate not to lose their captain, but would find it hard to reject a bid in the region of £100m. With Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans leaving as free agents on June 30 and more set to follow, the number of players heading out of Old Trafford this summer could hit double figures.

Brentford blaze to 4-0 win over leaky Leicester
LEICESTER, England, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo scored one goal and made another in a 4-0 win over Leicester City on Friday as a dismal display of defending saw the relegation-threatened Foxes slump to their sixth home defeat in a row in the Premier League. Bees playmaker Mikkel Damsgaard teed up Youane Wissa to open the scoring in the 17th minute, and 10 minutes later the Dane picked out Mbeumo on the right, and he curled home an unstoppable shot to make it 2-0. Five minutes later Leicester's defence was caught napping again at a free kick as Mbuemo picked out Christian Norgaard, who flashed a header into the net, prompting several fans to head for the exits, and their side failed to mount any sort of a comeback in the second half. Instead, Brentford substitute Fabio Carvalho rattled in a late fourth to bring Leicester's goals-conceded total to 59, the most in the Premier League so far, as the Bees move up to 10th in the standings on 37 points, while their hosts remain in 19th on 17 points.
