Nikhil Webb Walker returns to Colorado football workouts after lymphoma battle

Nikhil Webb Walker returns to Colorado football workouts after lymphoma battle Colorado Buffaloes defensive lineman Nikhil Webb Walker is back on the field, less than a year after being diagnosed with lymphoma. Webb Walker participated in Thursday's summer workout at CU's indoor practice facility, as reported by "The Pregame Show." The junior defensive end appeared in the first five games of last season, mostly on special teams, before stepping away in October to undergo treatment. "It feels good, man," Webb Walker told Thee Pregame Show. "The altitude gets me a little bit, but we're going to be back straight soon." According to Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, Webb Walker wrapped up his chemotherapy in March and has been on the mend since then. A native of Jamaica, Webb Walker began his college career at New Mexico State before transferring to Colorado ahead of his sophomore season. As an Aggie, he starred in 12 games, including four starts, where he put up good numbers, finishing the year with 25 tackles, five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. During his first year with the Buffs, Webb Walker was primarily a special-teams player but played his first defensive snaps during the Week 5 game against UCF. If Webb Walker is fully healthy entering the season, he provides defensive coordinator Robert Livingston another versatile weapon along the defensive line. The Buffs led the Big 12 in sacks last season, so it might be a formidable lineup to crack. Nonetheless, it is fantastic news to see Webb Walker back on the field and anything he produces on the field should be considered a bonus. Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads and Instagram. Will Lil Wayne Make a Stop For Deion Sanders, Colorado on 'Tha Carter VI' Tour?

Will Lil Wayne Make a Stop For Deion Sanders, Colorado on 'Tha Carter VI' Tour? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Lil Wayne is releasing his new album, Tha Carter VI, and announced 36 dates on his upcoming tour. The series of stops serve as a celebration of all of the rapper's Carter albums over the past two decades. It kicks off this week at Madison Square Garden in New York City and wraps up Oct. 2 in West Palm Beach, Fla. One of the noticeable omissions in the tour schedule was no stops in Colorado, which begs the question about a possible secret show coming at the University of Colorado in Boulder? Deion Sanders and the Buffs have welcomed Lil Wayne to campus several times and his agency now represents both Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. While Young Money is set to handle all of Hunter's on-field representation, he will reportedly remain with SMAC Entertainment for his off-field representation. It's the same agency that helped him secure NIL deals during his time at Colorado, including a major deal with Grammy Award-Winning rapper performed a sold out show at CU Events Center before the 2024 spring game and was on hand for a few games last year. Shedeur opened for him with his hit 'Perfect Timing'. Wayne was with Hunter in New York for his historic Heisman win and was also invited to the wedding for the two-way Jacksonville Jaguars' star last clear there is interest for Lil Wayne to bring his show back to Boulder. Whether that will come on this cycle or not will be a surprise. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 3, 2025, where it first appeared.

Former Colorado running back re-enters transfer portal, opening up a possible return

Former Colorado running back re-enters transfer portal, opening up a possible return Former Colorado football running back Isaiah Augustave announced Wednesday that he has reopened his recruitment. Augustave entered the transfer portal on April 14, committing to the Virginia Cavaliers less than a week later. After leading the Buffs with 384 rushing yards last season, it was surprising to see Augustave end up in the portal. Now, the former three-star recruit is back to square one. Could Augustave return to Boulder? It certainly is possible, but it has not been common under head coach Deion Sanders. Colorado desperately needs running back help, and Augustave is the highest-ranked available player, according to 247Sports. A return to Colorado would make Augustave the second CU player to return to the program after entering the portal. Linebacker Jeremish Brown spent a week in the portal in December before returning to Colorado. When Augustave committed to Virginia, Sanders called out the Cavaliers for taking one of his players. "Virginia, you've got to stop," Sanders said after a spring practice session. "I let you have one [Augustave] and didn't say nothing about it." Speculation was rampant that Augustave received a substantial amount of NIL money to depart Colorado for Virginia. In the current state of college football, Augustave's deal breaking down could have led to him decommitting. Sanders and Colorado also lost running back Brandon Hood to UMass this offseason. The only addition to the room is Incarnate Word standout DeKalon Taylor, who joins returners Charlie Offerdahl, Dallan Hayden, and Micah Welch. Any help the Buffs can get at running back is crucial, as the coaching staff strives to improve an area that struggled significantly in 2024. Colorado currently has 28 transfer portal commits, a class that ranks No. 19 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference, according to 247Sports. Deion Sanders' Daughter Makes Bold Decision After Major Personal Setback

As the Buffaloes conclude spring practices and set their sights on the 2025 season, head coach Deion Sanders is busy integrating a wave of new talent into Boulder's storied program. The Buffs, fresh off a 9-4 campaign in 2024, have welcomed 13 high-school enrollees and 28 transfers, including standout quarterbacks Kaidon Salter and true freshman Julian Lewis. Advertisement Salter, a four-year starter at Liberty with 5,887 passing yards and 56 touchdowns, joins an offensive line anchored by returning first-team freshman All-American tackle Jordan Seaton. Amid this professional resurgence, the Sanders family encountered a deeply personal challenge on Monday. Sanders' eldest daughter, Deiondra Sanders, shared a sobering health update on X, "I will keep y'all updated on my new journey. I have two options a hysterectomy or Uterine Embolism. For obvious reasons I will be trying the second one. 🙏". Deiondra starred alongside her family on Oxygen's "Prime Time Love" (2008-09) and OWN's "Deion's Family Playbook" (2014-15), and later appeared on "Paradise Hotel" in 2019. Advertisement Since June 2019, she has served as Director of Communications for SC3 Sports Management. In August 2024, she welcomed her first son, Que, with R&B singer Jacquees. Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion J. Downing-Imagn Images After a brief tenure as an NFL Network analyst, Deiondra's father, Deion, transitioned to coaching, revitalizing Jackson State (2020-22) with two Celebration Bowl victories before taking the reins at Colorado in 2023. In his second season, the Buffs jumped from a 1-11 record in 2022 to 9-4 in 2024, sending Heisman cornerback Travis Hunter and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Shedeur Sanders, Deion's youngest son, to the NFL. ESPN snubs Deion Sanders in latest coach rankings

Deion Sanders didn't just bring flash to Boulder—he brought wins, relevance, and a belief that Colorado football could matter again. But apparently, that still isn't enough to earn him national respect. In ESPN's recently released 2025 college football head coach rankings, Sanders was left on the outside looking in. Voted on by a panel of 12 analysts, the list featured the usual powerhouse names—Kirby Smart, Ryan Day, and Dabo Swinney—but barely acknowledged the man who's flipped Colorado's narrative on its head. Coach Prime received only three total votes, tying him for 18th overall, well outside the top 10. Advertisement It's a puzzling omission considering what Sanders has accomplished in just two seasons. Before his arrival, the Buffaloes were mired in a decade-long funk—posting a 41-81 record from 2012 to 2022 and failing to win a single bowl game. Enter Sanders, and the energy shifted overnight. After a 4-8 debut in 2023, he followed up with a 9-4 season in 2024, giving Buffs fans a reason to believe for the first time in years. More than just wins, Sanders has turned Colorado into a recruiting powerhouse. The 2025 class ranks No. 2 in the Big 12 and No. 35 nationally, with major names like four-star quarterback Julian Lewis, , and elite EDGE rusher London Merritt already on campus. He's not just recruiting talent—he's developing it, too. The 2025 NFL Draft featured four Buffaloes, including Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, who went No. 2 overall, tying the program's highest draft selection. So why the low ranking? Some critics argue Sanders hasn't coached long enough to be considered elite. Others question the sustainability of his model. But with momentum building and more talent on the way, it's clear that if Sanders keeps winning, ESPN's voters won't be able to ignore him for much longer. Advertisement Buff Nation isn't asking for charity. Just recognition. And with another big year in 2025, Coach Prime might just force the conversation.
