Pedro Pascal's mind-blowing net worth has legit landed him on the list of Highest-Paid TV Actors
Pedro Pascal has been out here working for literal decades both in theater and practically any kind of screen imaginable. Case in point? One of his earliest roles was a 1999 guest spot on the iconic television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ahem: Despite the minor role, good karma clearly caught up with Pedro, who, 24 years later, sweetly recalled his time on the series during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The celeb reminisced on working with lead actor Sarah Michelle Gellar, and remembered, "Absolutely everything. I remember she had ice cream in her trailer, and she gave me some. She went back to her trailer, she got me some ice cream and she shared - 'cause it was a night shoot, it was in the middle of the night, and we were on the UCLA campus. They hadn't built their college sets yet." Fast-forward over a decade, and it was Pedro's multi-episode appearance as Oberyn Martell (aka The Red Viper) on Game of Thrones - a gig he landed with the help of his lifelong friend Sarah Paulson, who helped him audition for the show - that put him on the map (and made viewers everywhere high-key thirst over him 👀). Since then, he's been cast in tons of projects, from The Last of Us and Narcos to Gladiator II and the newest iteration of the Fantastic Four means he's been making some serious moolah as of late. Just how much, you ask? Let's get into it. Chances are, one of the first times you saw Pedro in a large-scale project (which likely coincided with one of the first times you stared at your screen like this 👁👄👁) was in the 2015 Netflix crime drama series Narcos, which the actor went on to star in for a whopping three seasons. The hit show was based on the real-life events of DEA agent Javier Peña, who helped lead the international investigation and manhunt for Pablo Escobar, the Colombian drug lord. The show has since gone off to explore tons of spinoffs, including Narcos: Mexico, which is also referred to as "the one Bad Bunny is in," lol. To put it lightly: the American space Western television series was a big freakin' deal. Like, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the season 3 trailer for the show was viewed over 83.5 million times, which totally blows the previous record for a Disney+ Star Wars series of 58 million views for Obi Wan Kenobi out of the water. Despite being the titular protagonist on The Mandalorian as Din Djarin aka *the* Mandalorian, the actor's salary has not yet been disclosed. However, according to industry insider Daniel Richtman (via StyleCaster), Pedro asked for a raise in anticipation of season 3 of the series. Additionally, the outlet reports that, once she was fired from the show, actor Gina Carano revealed she'd earned between $25,000 and $50,000 (£18,500 - £37,000) per episode during her time on it (oh, and that the leading stars, who Pedro most certainly was, made much more). Slotted during Max's coveted 9 pm EST Sunday slot, The Last of Us totally catapulted Pedro to new levels of stardom. Given the limited cast (I mean, other than the zombies, obvi), the actor's star power was bright as he took on the lead role of Joel, a smuggler who is hired to escort a girl named Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States. According to Variety, Pedro made a whopping $600,000 per episode (aka $5.4 million total) for season 1, which made him one of the highest-paid actors in 2021. Oh, and according to Celebrity Net Worth, that per-episode salary more specifically made the celeb the 12th highest-paid actor on television that year. Btw, in a 2nd February, 2023, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Pedro recalled the hilarious experience of having forgotten he'd gotten the role after taking an Ambien. "I get a call that I got the job after I took the Ambien, and so I was excited I guess, but I didn't remember," the actor relayed to Jimmy. "I woke up in the morning and the first thing that occurred to me was like, 'Oh man, I really want that job.'" He then continued, "I'm in London, they're in L.A., I'm gonna wait by the phone all day long, this hasn't happened in a while, I'm gonna be longing and I'm gonna think about it all day long. And then it was like, 'Congratulations, I'm so happy for you!' when I looked at my phone. And I was like, 'Oh yeah, I got the job!'" Truly could not feel more #blessed that Pedro wound up being our Joel. 🥺❤️ Oh, and for everything you need to know about the cast on the latest season of the hit show, head right on over this way: Throughout his career, Pedro - a graduate of New York University Tisch School of the Arts - has routinely gone back to the theatre world. In fact, just some of his most notable stage roles were in productions like King Lear, Maple and Vine, Beauty of the Father, Sand, Based on a Totally True Story, Old Comedy After Aristophane's Frogs, Some Men, Much Ado About Nothing, and Macbeth. Didn't think we could be more obsessed with this man, but here we are! Yep, including Gladiator II with Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, and Denzel Washington, who reportedly picked up a whopping $20 million (£14.8 milliom) for the film. We can only assume Pedro raked in the big bucks, as well. Not to mention, Pedro is also entering his rom-com era in A24's The Materialists alongside Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans, where he plays a non-evil Mr. Big type with a $12 million ($8.9 million) mansion. The actor probs picked up millions, too. Yep, in November 2023, it was announced that Pedro was cast as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic) in the latest Fantastic Four film, which was no doubt a pinch-me moment for the actor, who, after taking on the role of Max Lord in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984, was so incredibly gracious and had this to say when Variety asked whether he'd get another opportunity like it: "It will never happen felt so special...I don't know! I'm protecting myself psychologically! It's just all too good to be true! How dare I!" What 😭 a 😭 humble 😭 king 😭😭😭. Oh, nothing much! Just a totally not-at-all-casual $10 million (£7.4 million) buckaroonies. Honestly, we can't even be mad since there's truly nothing we enjoy more than watching Pedro on our screens. That being said, I'll leave you with this healthy reminder, courtesy of Pedro's tee:

Free streaming service adds iconic 90s horror before remake hits cinemas
If you're a staunch believer that the original is always better than the modern day remake, it might be time to check out this classic 90s horror film before the new version hits cinemas this year. Time and time again, production studios aim to capitalise on the success of an earlier film by updating its storyline for today's audiences. But all too often, fans are let down as the new film struggles to find its own voice. Ahead of this year's release of I Know What You Did Last Summer, starring Madelyn Cline and The Studio star Chase Sui Wonders, you can decide for yourself after Tubi added the original slasher flick to its completely free streaming service. As part of a new release of titles coming to Tubi in the UK this June, Jim Gillespie's iconic horror film is available to watch. Released in 1997, it follows four teenage friends who are stalked by a hook-wielding killer after they accidentally ran over a man and dumped his body to conceal their secret. Starring Scooby-Doo and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr., the film has become a beloved staple of the horror genre. In 2021, Amazon Prime Video created a TV series based on the original film which starred Madison Iseman. But, in 2022 director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and screenwriter Leah McKendrick successfully pitched an idea for a new installment in the franchise to Sony Pictures. This time around, five friends similarly kill a pedestrian in a car accident and cover up their involvement. However, after a stalker becomes hell-bent on killing them, they seek help from the survivors of the infamous Southport Massacre of 1997. Among the other titles coming to Tubi this month are several films from the Resident Evil Franchise, along with Priest (2011) and The Mist. Based on the popular Japanese video game franchise, Tubi is boasting 'Resident Evil', 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse', 'Resident Evil: Extinction', 'Resident Evil: Afterlife', 'Resident Evil: Retribution' and 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' on its platform from June 1. Singer-songwriter Aimee Mann on ‘Lost in Space' tour, new musical
Singer-songwriter Aimee Mann is on the road again this summer with a tour of the East Coast that will take her to the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and out to the East End of Long Island this June. Known for her witty, personal lyrics and clear, melodic voice, she's playing the hits from her fourth studio album, released back in 2002. That means fans at her 21+ shows might be hearing these songs — which the elder millennials among us might remember from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' — for the very first time. We caught up with Aimee to check in on the tour, her life in LA and what's inspiring her latest work. You're celebrating the 22 1/2 year anniversary of your album 'Lost In Space' with an East Coast tour (playing the Grand Ballroom at Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays June 12). Why this album and why now? We were a little slow off the mark. We wanted to do the 20th anniversary thing but for a variety of reasons it took longer. Obviously I like all my records, but I feel like this one has just such an interesting sound and really creates a mood. Your catalogue cuts across genres — from the hit 'Voices Carry' with the new wave band 'Til Tuesday to 'Save Me' the breakout 90s ear worm from the Oscar-nominated 'Magnolia' soundtrack. Your album 'Mental Illness' even won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. Are you still evolving as an artist? The first band I was in was this really unlistenable kind of art rock, punk, new wave band — one of those bands where you say to yourself, 'Let's do everything weird.' Which is super fun, but not necessarily fun for the listener. 'Til Tuesday was a reaction against that. I wanted to play music that was more melodic. I think it takes a lot of practice at songwriting to figure out what you like and what you're good at. It's a lot of experimentation and over time you realize, 'Oh, this is the kind of thing I'm really good at, or 'This is the kind of thing I like to do.' And acoustic guitar-based pop with a little folk flavor is my favorite place to park. Left to right: Robert Holmes and Aimee Mann, both of the group 'Til Tuesday perform onstage at Liberty State Park, Jersey City in 1985. Getty Images But there's also this writerly quality to your songs that I think defines you. Do you agree? I like that description. That's a fun way to think of myself. But no, I haven't really thought of it that way. I just know that words are very important, and it's fun to try to get better at writing lyrics and to be more exact in your language. You're based in LA with your husband Michael Penn. Do you have plans for your time in New York when you aren't on stage? I have really good friends in Brooklyn that I stay with when I go to New York. So it kind of feels like I have my neighborhood coffee place. But I never lived in New York; I was in Boston for 15 years. On this tour, it's hard to say. It might be in and out, but it all sort of depends. I'll let karma decide. Wherever the tour bus goes, that's where I'll go. Mann performs as part of 'The Aimee Mann And Ted Leo Christmas Show' at City Winery last November in NYC. Getty Images Are you working on new music? I'm writing songs for a new record. I'm not sure exactly what I want it to sound like yet, but I have a record called 'The Forgotten Arm,' [2005] and I've been playing a lot of songs from that so I'm kind of interested in returning to that sound. I'm also developing a musical based on those songs. That record was written about drug addiction and the musical is about two people who are together, and one is a drug addict. It's the dynamic of that relationship. I think we'll do a workshop presentation at Joe's Pub sometime this fall.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Reunites With 'Buffy' Co-Star to Raise Awareness
Sarah Michelle Gellar has reunited with her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star, Alyson Hannigan, to spotlight an important cause! E! News reported that Gellar andHannigan appeared together on the May 9 episode of The TODAY show to discuss the importance of protecting children from meningitis. Gellar has two children, Charlotte and Rocky, fathered by her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr. Hannigan and her husband, fellow Buffy star Alexis Denisof, are also parents to two children, Satyana and Keeva. During the TODAY show episode, Gellar said that Hannigan helped her learn about the infection. 'As a new parent, there's so much information and you try to keep track. I think sometimes you're intimidated. We all know that knowledge is power, but sometimes it's hard to ask the questions. To be honest, I learned a lot about this from Alyson," said Gellar in the interview. Hannigan then interjected that she usually gets her information from Gellar. "Which is so rare because she's usually the one I go to. Like, she knows everything. I'm like 'Can you just do my life?'" quipped Hannigan on the TODAY show episode. Gellar and Hannigan confirmed that they are paid spokespeople for GSK during the May 9 interview. While Gellar and Hannigan appear close now, the pair weren't always on the best of terms. E! News reported that Gellar spoke about her dynamic with Hannigan during their time on Buffy the Vampire Slayerin a 2022 interview with Evan Ross Katz, the author of Into Every Generation a Slayer Is Born: How Buffy Staked Our Hearts. 'Look, we worked really hard hours. We were young, we had ups and downs. Everybody had arguments. It wasn't rosy. Nobody gets along all the time. Alyson and I had moments. There's no question. But you're young," said Gellar during the 2022 interview. "I think that unfortunately, the set we were on and the world we were in was pitting us against each other. I think it would have been different if it was today." According to Us Weekly, Hannigan spoke about Gellar's exhaustion on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer set in a 2013 interview on Watch What Happens Live, hosted by Andy Cohen. When Cohen asked her, "Who was the most annoyed to be on Buffy the Vampire Slayer by the end of the show's run," she replied, "Sarah." "Well, she had a big career going. It was a lot of work," said Hannigan in the WWHL interview. Hannigan clarified her WWHL comments in a May 2013 HuffPost Live interview. She said she would have never described Gellar as being "annoyed" on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer set and assured that she "was super professional." "She worked her butt off. Obviously, she was Buffy. She worked 18-hour days for years. [Cohen] was playing a game or something. It was a leading question, like 'Who was the most annoyed?' Obviously, I wouldn't have used the word annoyed. But she was the most tired because she worked the hardest," said Hannigan. During the TODAY Show interview, Gellar said her children have watched and enjoyed Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, Hannigan's children had not yet watched the series, which ended in 2003. In a February 2021 interview with TooFab, Hannigan explained she hasn't let her kids watch the show because of its horror aspects. "We're really cautious about what they watch. I get nervous," said Hannigan.

Why Sarah Michelle Gellar Wants Maya Hawke to Help Out Her Teenage Daughter (Exclusive)
Sarah Michelle Gellar is sharing why she taps Maya Hawke to help her teen daughter Charlotte. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, 48, opened up about the subject while chatting exclusively with Parade amid their partnership with the Ask2BSure campaign, which aims to help parents and their kids further understand the increased risk for meningitis among teens and young adults. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 When Gellar was asked if Charlotte, 15, will follow her footsteps into acting, the Cruel Intentions alum says she uses Hawke — whose parents are actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman — as an example. The pair became close friends after starring in Netflix's Do Revenge together in 2022. 'There's no question, but we've told her she has to wait til she graduates high school, and then she can make decisions about what she wants to do once she's finished school,' Gellar begins. 'It's hard, when it's both your parents jobs, to tell your kids, 'No, you can't do that,' or 'No, you shouldn't do that.' But at the same time, I think there's a different pressure on them, and I think that it's better for them to be fully formed people to be able to face that pressure.' She continues: 'I look at Maya Hawke. [She's] always my example. And I've actually had Maya talk to Charlotte about why it's better to go to sets, sit on sets. I let Charlotte work on sets behind the scenes so she can soak it all in and learn it, but wait a little bit because there's a different pressure, I think, in that situation.' Reiterating why she enlists Hawke, 26, to keep an open dialogue with Charlotte, Gellar jokes: 'Maya's way cooler than me.' As for Gellar and fellow Buffy co-star Alyson Hannigan's partnership with the Ask2BSure campaign, the pair tell Parade that it was important for them — especially as mothers to teenagers — to get the word out about making sure their kids are vaccinated against the five disease-causing types of meningitis, including A, B, C, W and Y, all of which can lead to death or severe lifelong complications. While many teens and young adults receive vaccinations to help protect against groups A, C, W and Y, most may still be missing a vaccination for meningitis B. Ages 16 to 23 are at higher risk for contracting meningitis B through common behaviors like living in close quarters, kissing, sharing drinks and more. Related: Sarah Michelle Gellar Reunites With 'Buffy' Co-Star to Raise Awareness 'This campaign is such an important issue to just go talk to your doctor and just get the information,' Hannigan says. 'I learned so much when I talked to my kids' pediatrician, and so much I didn't know. And I thought I was on top of everything. I learned so much, and so we're just encouraging parents to go ask their doctor.' Gellar adds: 'When Alyson was first doing the campaign, I was like, 'Oh yeah, my kids were vaccinated for meningitis,' and then you would go, 'Oh, wait, there's this other strain of it that is not part of the original vaccination series,' and that is really easy to slip through the cracks. And because it hits the ages between 16 to 23, which are the most vulnerable — which is exactly where our kids are — it can tailspin you.'
