Ravens OTAs: 5 under-the-radar players to watch on offense We're looking at five under-the-radar players to watch during the Baltimore Ravens' four remaining OTA sessions and the mandatory minicamp OTAs aren't mandatory, and Baltimore's MVP candidate was absent for Day 1, but made his debut in front of the media for the start of Day 2. Lamar Jackson was back at the Under Armour Performance Center on Wednesday, and the place was buzzing as the MVP candidate looked sharp and in elite shape during his first practice. The training programs are divided into three phases: one mandatory minicamp for the entire roster and one rookie minicamp for each group. No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed. Baltimore will hold seven more OTA sessions on June 3, June 5-6, June 9-12, before a Mandatory Minicamp on June 17-19. With the team off until Tuesday, we're looking at five under-the-radar players on offense to watch. OT Corey Bullock Bullock was an honorable mention All-Big Ten after starting 11 games for the Terrapins in 2023. According to Pro Football Focus, Bullock was ranked as the second-highest-rated pass-blocking guard in the Big Ten conference, with a 79.6 grade via the Terrapins' official website. With Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor as the core three, Wade could not overtake Tylan Wallace, Deonte Harty, and Devontez Walker. Wade caught 27 passes for 390 yards and two touchdowns during his last season at Ole Miss. Most of Walker's work came on special teams, as he logged 153 snaps and 55 on offense. With the addition of Hopkins, Walker will enter 2025 as the No. 4 or No. 5 wideout at best. Potential THC ban in Texas: Business owner reacts to passage of SB 3
The Brief Texas lawmakers have passed SB 3, a ban on THC products SB 3 still needs Gov. Abbott's signature to become law Business owners are still hoping Abbott vetoes the bill AUSTIN, Texas - Texas lawmakers passed a ban on THC products which have become widely and legally available in recent years. Business owners are pushing back against the ban, which still needs Gov. Greg Abbott's signature. What they're saying Jake Bullock is the CEO and Co-Founder of Cann. "SB3 is a total ban of our products, of any hemp-derived THC products, and this will decimate the Texas hemp industry," said Bullock. Senate Bill 3 would not only prohibit some hemp sales, but those in possession could also face fines and jail time depending on the amount. "We're CANN, we make a range of microdose, THC, and CBD-infused drinks," said Bullock. "They're social products and they're meant to be similar in sort of strength and potency to half of a glass of wine or a light beer." Bullock said his infused drinks benefit many Texans with sleep issues, inflammation problems, or even people who want a buzz without a hangover. "Some of our customers have been able to give up drinking alcohol entirely, which has a huge transformative positive impact in their life from a wellness standpoint," said Bullock. While he wants to see Abbott veto SB3, he still agrees that THC products need stricter regulations. "They should be regulated, they should be taxed and use those tax dollars to help enforce against the bad actors, against those illicit products, against those highly potent gummy candies that no one thinks should be in the market," said Bullock. Dig deeper The ban does not apply to CBD or CBG products. It will also not have an effect on the Compassionate Use Program. If Abbott signs the bill, it will take effect in September. She Exposed Government Abuse. Now She's Locked up in an El Salvador Prison.
LATE SUNDAY NIGHT, police in El Salvador arrested one of President Nayib Bukele's sharpest critics, Ruth Eleonora López, an anti-corruption attorney who has spent years exposing government abuses. '[She] is one of the strongest voices in defense of democracy,' says Noah Bullock, her colleague and the executive director of Cristosal, a human rights group operating in northern Central America, including El Salvador. López, a university professor and former elections official, heads Cristosal's anti-corruption unit. She has also been an outspoken critic of Bukele's crackdown on gang violence that has resulted in 'arbitrary detentions, human rights violations,' and the imprisonment of people not connected to gangs, according to Cristosal. The organization has documented widespread abuses in the country's prison system. 'There's a clear pattern of physical abuse, and on top of that, a clear pattern of systematic denial of basic necessities like food, water, bathrooms, medicine — medical care in general,' says Bullock. 'Those two factors have combined to cause the deaths of at least 380 people' in custody in recent years. That's a prison system 'that's been contracted by the U.S. government,' Bullock adds. This week on The Intercept Briefing, Bullock speaks to host Jessica Washington about López's continued imprisonment and what her work and detention reveals about the Trump administration's interest in El Salvador's prison system. Facing vague corruption charges, López has seen her family and lawyer but not yet a judge. The U.S. is paying El Salvador $6 million to detain immigrants, including about 250 Venezuelan and Salvadoran men mainly at the infamous megaprison CECOT. 'The type of jails and the prison system that the United States has contracted is one of a dictatorship — one that operates outside of the rule of law,' says Bullock. But El Salvador isn't the only country the U.S. is looking to partner with to outsource immigration detention. 'Now in addition to El Salvador, the U.S. has reportedly explored, sought, or struck deals with at least 19 other countries,' says Nick Turse, national security fellow for The Intercept. The countries include: Angola, Benin, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Eswatini, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Kosovo, Libya, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Panama, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security sent eight immigrants to South Sudan, in defiance of a federal judge's order, according to court filings. 'Many of these countries,' says Turse, 'have been excoriated by not only human rights groups and NGOs, but also the U.S. State Department.' He continues, 'Places like Equatorial Guinea, which is a notorious, kleptocratic dictatorship in West Africa — one of the most corrupt countries on the planet; and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is another human rights pariah.' ' These policies did not leap fully formed from the head of Donald Trump,' says Turse. They have a legacy largely stemming from the post-9/11 counterterrorism policies of the George W. Bush administration. 'The Bush administration created this worldwide network of secret prisons and torture sites as part of its global war on terror.' These are places outside of the jurisdiction of international law — legal black holes. 'The Trump administration has expanded the Bush and Obama-era terrorism paradigm to cast immigrants and refugees as terrorists and as gang members,' says Turse. 'It's reconceptualized this idea from the post-9/11 era of extraordinary rendition to seek to disappear people to sites … even further beyond the reach of U.S. law.' Drone finds Fremont burglary suspect trying to torch hiding spot: PD
(KRON) — A Fremont man accused of breaking into a home was later found by a Fremont Police Department-deployed drone as he hid from officers in a tall grass field. While he was hiding, the man tried to set the field on fire, according to police. 'CHP officers will be vigilant': Patrols ramp up for Memorial Day weekend FPD said its officers responded to the burglary in-progress Monday at 7:22 p.m. in the 38000 block of Fremont Boulevard — and quickly surrounded the home — after a witness said they saw the man break into the residence using the front door. Police said they used a loudspeaker to communicate with the suspect, but there was no response until he ran to the rear of the home. 'The [drone] pilot saw the suspect run from the residence and provided officers with real-time information on his location. The suspect ultimately stopped running and hid in a field of tall grass near the residence,' said police in a news release. Police said they released a police K-9 to take the suspect into custody after failed attempts to get the man to surrender. The suspect, identified as Michael Bullock, 38, of Fremont, was arrested for residential burglary, attempted arson, and resisting, obstructing, or delaying a peace officer, said police. Police said Bullock was also arrested for a felony warrant for robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bullock was booked into Santa Rita Jail, and the Alameda County District Attorney's Office will review the case for forthcoming charges, said FPD. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
